I don't blame Mariah for disliking Jennifer. I am pretty sure that she knew Tommy was using her to sabotage Mariah. It wasn't only Mariah and Ashanti who JLo stole samples/songs and or vocals from. There are so many videos online about her stealing vocals from Unkown vocalists who did demos. She tried to steal Amerie's "One Thing." She would have stolen her song if Amerie hadn't leaked her song to radio first. "Waiting for Tonight" was a girl group called 3rd Party's song. "If You Had My Love" ,which was a complete rip off of singer, Chante Moore's song ,"If I Gave Love." Allegedly, she wanted that song, but Chante said no. But Rodney Jerkins made a song that sounded exactly like it.(He produced both songs) Natasha Ramos was an unknown singer, who's vocals were on the majority of JLo's album, "This Is Me Then." Jennifer also used Usher's song, "Get Right," which was supposed to be on his album, "Confessions." He heard her version, hated it and demanded that he received his royalties. She kept his vocals in the background. A song titled, "Ryde Or Die" was recorded for Brandy's "Afrodisiac" album, but it didn't make the cut. Jennifer wanted the song for her album, but you can still hear Brandy's vocals on the song. Jennifer Lopez has never been a strong vocalist.

Mariah is arguably the greatest female singer songwriter of all time. She writes, produces and performs some of the most vocally demanding songs of all time. To have this Milli Vanilli come up and take your hard work from you is a huge slap in the face. Granted, I think some of the anger is misdirected. All blame should go to Tommy because Jlo is a puppet in all of this. However, Mariah summed it up best in an interview over 22 years ago. Mariah said she sleeps around 3 hours a night because she’s always working on her records. Mariah had a beautiful voice. She hit notes that most people can't. She was a very talented artist. Jlo is a popstar. They packaged her and put her out to make money. She got by making "music" but she was never able to sing on any serious level.
Mariah worked with 5.4 octaves and she used all of it to create an outstanding catalog. And anyone that has followed her career/interviews will also see that she's humble and kind-hearted.
Jlo is a good actress, that's it. I mean, her greatest role is pretending to be a singer. I give her that.

I will say JLO has a history of not being so nice in person. I remember there was a post about celebs who are rude in person and let’s say she came up more than once.
She was very kind to me and my friend when we met her. Invited us up to VIP area to take photos and everything.
I’ve met her about 6 times and she was always super sweet. One of the times I actually met her when she had just had a breakup. I know for me personally I wouldn’t want to talk to anyone. But I was just standing across the street watching her doing her scenes for a movie and she waved me over and asked if I wanted to take a picture with her. Never rude or nasty to me at least. I can’t speak for everyone

We have to remember Mariah Carey was a star with numerous number 1 hits before JLO ever came out, and she married the man of her life…. Until that man abused Mariah, and used JLO as a pawn in his game to bring Mariah down. Mariah doesn’t see JLO as an artist because Tommy simply used JLO to destroy Mariah’s career.

Mariah has stage fright. Always had it. After the 2016 debacle and a very bad stage accident, it got worse. She also has bipolar disorder and has depressive episodes often (even when she has performance obligations). I dont think she intentionally doesn't want to move. Also that is how many divas of her generation performed. All they needed was their voice and charisma - they'd walk around the stage, dance for a few songs, talk to the audience, give some visuals etc. Toni Braxton, Whitney, Patti, Aretha, Barbra and so on. Today, the public want singers to be dancers more than they want them to be musicians.
Real fans know that up until like 2013 (1990-2013/14ish) Mariah had a lot more energy on stage. Its unfair to call her boring given past shows.

I feel bad for Ashanti she was young trying to do waht she loved while getting into it with that gottie dude.. they had a thing.. she didn't want him anymore so the dude wanted to get back at Ashanti by bringing Jen in. Messed up, i am sure Ashanti could've gotten more money she didn't get the attention within her label that she deserved and then was told she couldn't use any of the songs she sang on. I don’t think its fair to suggest Jlo had no idea or that she doesn’t hold some responsibility in her catalogue because it wasn’t just one incident. Her entire discography is made up of stolen songs, ghost singers, ghost writers, etc. the majority of her hits have other singers vocals all over the songs. It’s not right.
I had no idea they were feuding. All I know is Mariah is a legend (imo) in the music industry because she can sing, she has true talent. Just saying. But, they're both divas with all that money. Also, I'm surprised about this situation with Jennifer and Ashanti because I thought in any entertainment industry they choose the young over the old, and Jennifer has over a decade of age compared to Ashanti. That's weird. Latino or not, that surprises me, especially because Ashanti has a good voice.
