As a Brit I have been to America and was treated very very well. I have been there twice. Most British people respect and appreciate the US and it’s people. This video has clearly selected the negative interviews to provoke a response from the US citizens. Don’t bite, take a deep breath and realise that our 2 nations are very close allies and will always be there for each other.

To make fun of us so they feel better about themselves? All the video was about was how terrible and sh!tty a country the US is and how no one wants to come here. Like you said, they cherry-picked all the negative remarks from people who have never met Americans or been to America. To reduce it to a basic formula: English = Polite/Pleasant and Americans = Friendly/Chatty. There’s no way those qualities would resolve in a bad time for anyone.

That's in the past, and America is interfering in the 20th and currently in the 21st century, we should know better, especially learning from the past mistakes, stop invading Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq etc, stop threatening Iran with war too as you may not know that Iran doesn't want war with America AT ALL! Very, very quick to make threats to foreign countries, this is why we Brits are struggling to respect you. Of course there are wonderful kind generous Americans out there no doubt, but the lack of understanding of cultures and patience can lead to many unpleasant misunderstandings.

That was an inside job, even the CIA Knew about it hours before it happened, America always wanted to control Afghanistan for decades due to the drug trade of opium which USSR/Soviet union invaded Afghanistan for the same reason in 1979. CIA funded the mujaddin fighters in the early 1980s to get rid of the Russians occupation. The mujaddin were given arms(russian made Kalashnikov rifles, now ironic) which surprised the Russians and they learned that the CIA totally funded them. The mujaddin eventually became the Talibans, as you can understand the terrorism was actually homegrown for other sinister purposes and not for liberating humanity. Taliban got the impression that they would have full absolute power over Afghanistan, but CIA was just using them to do their dirty work and place their own trained agent president Ahmed Karzai to worked with them and keep an close eye of the borders of Tajikistan/ former Soviet. The Cold War did not disappear completely, it went into some kind of remission and emerged stronger after the collapse of Soviet union and when Vladimir Putin came into power. Terrorism is controlled by both America, United Kingdom and of course Russia to create a state which I don't want to really mention the country for my own safety. Unfortunately its always Americans, British, Europeans, asians and middle eastern civilians that are caught in these political mess which politicians have created

For instance the uk is made up of 4 countries with drastically different cultures, each of which were also once split into different countries. Also theres places like brazil and indonesia. America is also the most racist country in the western world, and its ‘diversity’ is more so a product of centuries of slavery.
Edit: whilst i dont believe 9/11 was an inside job, it was definitely overreported and overblown. 3,000 people dead is a lot, but its often compared to events such as the holocaust, and was used as an excuse to kill thousands of innocent afghan civilians.

I'm British and have lived in America, I was stunend when I came back and everyone had an opinion on the US without even going. Needless to say, as you pointed out, they were all wrong. It's a great place, I really loved it.

I’ve always struggled to understand how the U.S. would be a third world country. It’s absolutely baffling, it’s such a jarring statement. It’s a disservice to the people who actually live in third world nations.
I myself live in a poor third world country, and when I visited the US, it was extremely different. Much more developed with better technology and infrastructure. I don't know whether to laugh or be offended that they refer to the US as third world.

As a Brit who moved to America a year ago, I’d say it’s an extremely friendly nation with a lot of opportunity. Blessed by a constitution that preserves its citizens rights BUT has deep social issues it needs to deal with and a government that really needs to get its arse into gear 😂

The social issues yes, definitely. The racism in certain areas runs really deep too. I got it in NJ whilst walking through a playground, probably because l look like the stereo typical white girl that you are supposed to hate nowadays, but l was like "feck that, we are Irish, let's get the hell outta here" gathered up the kids and went back to my family we were visiting with, the intimidation was real, but l also do understand the hatred runs deep and is taught for generations and stems from a very real history there.

Could be wrong, but I get the impression that most of these opinions are based either off of news/social media, or living/ visiting experience solely in big cities.
With how large the US is, you can see 100 different versions of America, purely by traveling it. People will have opinions though, all anyone can do is just be a good example when you meet people in person.

It’s a whole lot less racism as much as it is just crime because it’s a major port area so crime is just inflated. It’s mainly Midwest and mid-south areas like Georgia and Virginia and the Carolinas that tend to be the worst.

It's actually not, that's the one thing that the media actually gets right about America. Our country was built on racism its in all of our laws and even in our constitution. You don't just get rid of that by integrating society. It takes generations for that to fade away.

Every country was built on racism, because every country at one point had land taken from, and/or conquered another country. Even within Africa there is heavy racism. But when people think of racism as the first thing to come to mind when one thinks of America from an outside looking in perspective that’s when it’s over exaggerating. Because it’s not the 50s and 60s, there has been massive progress in the effort to remove it and for the most part it has been successful. And of course there are holdouts, prejudiced people, and corrupt areas, but that is everywhere. Doesn’t mean we should stop working on them but when they are the first thing to come to a foreigners mind when asked about the country shows how misrepresented it must be.

Both of my parents went to segregated high schools, there are still a lot of people alive and in power that grew up in extremely racist times, and it does still affect people's lives, job opportunities, and social mobility. It makes no sense to ignore the issues and hope they get better.

That’s one of the funniest things about British people. They think all racism exists in America and we’re all a bunch of lunatics, but they have just as much racism as we do. The only difference is that in the US we acknowledge we have issues and need to do better, while Brits throw their hands up like “Racism? What? Us? Absolutely not!” They will deny it into the ground!

Most of the Soviets would freeze to death before entering Germany. Only a few armies would’ve been able to reach Germany. As an American, I would suggest foreigners view America as a federation of states rather than a culturally monolithic nation. It was a draw, a tie -- whatever you want to call it. Given that the U.S. barely had a standing army in 1812, a third of the country declined to participate, and we were facing the largest navy and one of the most powerful armies in the world. I'd say we did pretty well with a draw.
