Slightly delayed, but as promised, here's a solo playthrough from my band Ancestral Curse's debut record! This is the first solo I wrote for the band shortly after joining back in 2020, and I’m still proud of how it turned out. Definitely channeling a lot of neoclassical vibes here, and you can probably tell I was quite into Brandon Ellis’ lead playing at the time of writing this, haha.
On a funny note, I realized in the process of making this video that I had accidentally been playing that arpeggio run slightly differently from the album version for years. Fret not, this is the correct way to do it, and good news for me too since I’d been playing it in a more difficult way all this time!

Oh man, that’s funny haha, different Chris Jones. I’m also not the Chris Jones who played for Arsis, or the one from Woods of Ypres 😂 I do tour with Aether Realm and used to play guitar for Oceans of Slumber though!
