I have 2 of these. It's a Suhr copy! You can't get a better guitar for the money. Who cares about the finish this thing plays like a beast.Put some alnico V pickups in this thing and you'll be even more happy with it. Honestly I've never had a Fender that played as well as these. I put a single coil sized humbucker in the bridge of one of mine and now it's my swiss army knife.
It wasn't until I got a Fender Player Strat that I realised how good budget copies are. ;)
I agree they should do a more classic logo. Awesome review! Thanks Tony
GREAT DETAILED REVIEW AS ALWAYS TONY. TA MUCHLY 👍😊
I have the GW2 headless and I love it. Solid guitar. I'm proud of my shiny spot it means I'm playing more.
Tony…excellent review as always…I was just looking at these yesterday…I like the sharp edges of the body…different from a strat…I was interested in the HSS model…rock on bro!!!!
Thank you Eddie, these models are pretty cool!
Very cool review. What camera do you use? Thanks!
I kinda dig the plastics being off a bit
and yeah it is a nice guitar... I love cheapish guitars
no clue why?
great review Tony
Eart could easily fit these guitars with Alnico's for virtually no extra cost.
Having said that..
I actually think this guitar sounds great!
But...I am a fan of ceramic single-coils.
I much prefer them to alnico's.
Well said!
Agreed I like the way mine sounds. It plays like a dream
How do they do it for the price of a fret job you get the whole guitar
Got mine new when they first came out for $200 this is a keeper I just change the PU to Fender custom and for just less than $400 I got myself a real winner.
I'm gonna have to pick up an eart.. I like those burl top .. I forget the name they call them but they're geared more to the metal player.. double humbuckers.. I'm super curious about them.. thx for the breakdown tony..
Eart Explorers.
@@Gene_Cali oh yes that's right.. thx
I am surprised you don't like the pickups!
I just got mine last week, and I am blown away by how good they sound. Surprised more people aren't talking about it. I need to make my own video.
If you decide to go ahead and replace your pickups, I will buy yours. This is a serious offer.
Edit: Just posted a CZcams Short with tone samples from mine. I really like the sound!
A great guitar for the asking price that is badly let down by the matt finish.
I made the mistake of buying a Fender Noir Strat in satin black, and it is impossible
to even pick it up without leaving it looking a mess, and removing the marks is not easy
as you can't rub at them or you will leave a polished looking area.
I have an Eart E-3S and it has a poly coating over the purple fade finish, so why they can't
do that on these models makes no sense to me.
Other than that, the mint green pickguard is not for me, or the ceramic pickups.
I think Eart are similar to Harley Benton in that the higher up their range you go, the
better they are.
Thanks for your excellent review Tony, other reviewers don't mention the finish or
other bad points.🙂👍
I have to comment on the tremolo. The pop in design is fin
But the screw to adjust it is a horrible design, being
Inaccessible on the block without taking the backplate
Off and further disassembling the tremolo. Luckily my squier
Bullet tremolo was available with it's screw-in wiggle
Stick and brass Musiclilly block. Got rid of the saddles too
As they were attractive but very light and have sharp
edges. Now it's a joy to play. And still was a great purchase.
And I will continue to buy Eart guitars basically for the
Body and neck. There is a set of pickups from musiclilly
That are very dynamic and under $100. The name is
Somewhat referring to SRV- I'm going to install them
In this Eart. Hopefully before the price rises. Sorry so
Long. 😅
You need more green guitars, Tony.
These guys have free shipping to Japan. Impressed. Too bad only two lefty models, but hey.
Better than no left guitars
It looks like you're used to playing the Les Paul by the way you're keeping your right hand..
Looks great especially for the price.
Is it routed for a humbucker in the bridge by chance?
I’m not sure, I would have to check it.
They should say the pronunciation of the company is EAR-TEE. Sounds cooler.
You are actually right dude! I asked them on Shopify, and they told me it sounded like exactly what you mentioned.🤣🤣
Is it a matte or satin finish, it matters, they are completely different? Medium Jumbo not jumbo frets.
What is the difference?
@@addictedtogear satin has eurethane it just hasn’t been polished it is as if the employee was lazy and never polished the finish. If you buy polish and use a buffer an Satin it will become glossy and satin has a layer of protection. Matte, all bets are off it will just fade into oblivion.
@@bluwng then it looks like it is matte to me.
@@addictedtogear I trust your eye and feel so I will ignore their website saying it’s satin. Could be a language barrier thing.
This is a great student level guitar, easy on the hands and eyes. The Pickups sounded fine for the price point. So many features without breaking the bank. win-win. Yate is Eart in Chinese. They make both standard and custom guitars. Thanks Tony.
That is the bottom of the barrel in their line. You should demo one of their other higher end models.
Perhaps I will do just that !
Never been a fan of a matte finish. Gloss all the way. True men can relic poly gloss. lol
after a while, that finish just doesn't cut it..... line up your guitars and that one needs to go in the closet :)
LOL... or under the bed!
So....Same crap as every other cheap guitar, just with good fretwork and cool knobs on the tuners?😆
Still not bad for the price!
Not at all…May look similar but have been very well made!
I have the NK C3 Suhr style copy in HSS configuration that is constructed incredibly well. It’s upgraded with Iron Gear Alnico pickups, better pots and wiring, graphite nut, Switchcraft Jack, locking tuners and Wilkinson bridge. (logo’s also removed)
It now looks, plays and sounds like something costing 2-3 times the price (including all the upgrades!) although they sound and play just fine in stock form!
These are anything but standard run of the mill Far Eastern copies!
