The price difference is the bottom line plus you get better driving dynamics,gas mileage,plush or better interior,quieter or more supple ride...if you want to trade that to higher ground clearance or driving position and Honda sensing go for the SUV...by the way as a CRV owner that sensing is far from perfect it can get annoying at times that you would rather have none of it.
For this rainy season… an all-wheel drive review is a must. Forester plss
With a multitude of rough and even sharp humps in our community my main deciding factor would be ground clearance.

As always great comparo as i am curious difference between city and hrv s variant. Does that mean there is a chance for a civic and an hrv v variant comparo? Since they have same engine and price wise they are quite on par?

Should have been a triple comparison with the base model Civic so we wont know which one to choose 😅 but on a serious note, between the two, it will depend on which do you value more. Plushness vs safety, and I think the hrv wins that battle.

I hate CVT transmissions especially when Honda has such great manual transmissions.
If no manual option at least have a regular auto trans the CVT is a deal breaker. Great content ☘️
I've always been a fan of the HRV/Vezel but this new iteration with a 1.4m (1.38 as of Jan 2023) base variant makes it a somewhat less appealing option.

I do owned a 2016/17 Honda CRV, gas and i would say i love it. If i decided to buy another vehicle, i have only 2 choice in my mind, CRV Hybrid if they ever bring it in Philippines or the Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid. If Honda decided to bring their CRV Hybrid, then its decided then that it will be my choice, since i am happy with the CRV performance, it also never give me a headache until now - maintenance and reliability wise -; otherwise, i go for RAV4 Hybrid
hows ur crv now? sold mine same model as you, i downgraded to HRV..my crv didnt give me headache too..i love that car but must let go feels like palitin na ung parts nya sa age nya.

Its interesting to see dirrerent trim spec of Honda from every country. In Malaysia, the City Hatchback RS comes with a hybrid powertrain. It do looks sporty and very fuel efficient, but its nowhere as fast as the 1.5L NA or the 1.0L Turbo. It even costs MYR 109,800.00 which in direct exchange is PHP 1,377,183.00 roughly. Sporty looks but slower 0-60 and lower top speed? Naah bro.
same thoughts.. I saw their city HB it's also equipped with electronic breaks. I'm planning to buy city hb now but hesitated when i saw that. (baka magkaroon ng facelifted version ng city hb)

The most sensible choice, regardless of your age, social status or lifestyle would be the BRV. Higher ground clearance than both of these, sits more people, has more cargo space, looks sporty like the City and professional like the HRV, has the same immaculate Honda steering, the same 1.5 DOHC engine and the same CVT.
Plus the S variant is actually cheaper than the City RS hatch.
It's the best of both worlds if you think about it.
You know that Caco would fighting head on for that argument when he actually stopped the car lol
If only the City Hatch has Honda Sensing 😔 Test drove both awhile ago, I thought I’ll fall in love with the higher ground clearance and larger body of the HR-V but felt more at home with the City. But that Honda Sensing is truly a must have esp if you’re planning to have your car long term. Need HELP!!!
Does honda sensing do the features automatically or just a mere warning notifications?
I hope HR-V RS Turbo is the City Hatchback Killer, except the S model. But still,the s model has same engine, horsepower, and torque from Honda City
I bought one hrv turbo, the E spec. Overall pretty happy but I sometime regret a bit my decision, being a father of two and previously owning a sedan, the HRV felt a bit small. Also the back seat is practically for 2 person only.

As a 20 yr old, I''d go for Honda HR V than Honda City, because of its versatility and space.
and the looks, or maybe i need to see the city in white...
simple..... is the car for your family road trips? choose the HR-V.
is the car for your daily commute and 90% of the time you are the only passenger. and you are a car guy who loves doing weird stuff with your car? choose the City, no question.
Recently had this dilemma. Ended up buying a GR Altis coz of the long waiting time for the HRV S.
Oh, HRV S will have a general price increase (1.398m na daw per my agent. Smh).

i wonder why we get the "coupe-ish"hrv body style. but in the US the HRV looks like the crv bodystyle (with c pillar)
Yes, the US/Canada version has different front design and body style. Asia and Europe/UK has the same HRV. I saw the Canadian review by Motormouth and the UK review by Carwow. The US version also has 2.0L engine.

geez i really prefer the city hatch in platinum white pearl
there's at least a 170k discount on the hatchback right now so i picked one up a few days ago. this makes is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the hr-v so it's really a no-brainer at this point. the ground clearance on the hr-v doesn't matter coz it's a fwd, it's not going to offroad you'll just get stuck.

Will City Hatchback get Honda Sensing next year?
Higher ground clearance, Sensing, bigger space, better looking car makes the 130k difference worth it.
but it's just a base model.. then it doesn't have a charging port in the 2nd row, then the 130k prize range is a big deal in today's hard life

Kicks is tempting coz of fuel economy. But I would still personally go with the HRV coz of Honda's reliability. Just my two cents

@@lacuseclair1201 Exact situation I was in. Could not wait for the HRV so went for City HB. Go for BRV if you need the ground clearance and the 7-seat. I'm a newbie driver so a smaller car makes sense for me and I don't need the 7 seats. Though to be honest, if an HRV is available at its original price (before the increase) I still would go for it in a heartbeat coz I love the look of the car.

Same situation ’til now. Looks like I’ll just opt out for the City Hatchback as well. Test drive a BRV.. it’s big for a single man like me. It feels awkward.
@@lacuseclair1201so far, no regrets. My dad got the HRV S this year. The city feels more nimble vs the hrv. Interior of the city is really nice because of the black headliner
Interesting that the HRV is a completely different model in the Philippines and in the United States. The one in the Philippines is not sold in the United States.
The HRV in states are better and the city HB in Malaysia is better as well compare sa trims dito satin :(

Yes! for me ill go to sir Caco tirona not trying hard to speak in English very natural well it is because the Presentation it self brilliant clear. And Our grand Parents they are familiar friends from each other since Revolutionary period.
I like more the Honda City RS its sporty . The interior looks better color black however the HRV has a better ground clearance and Honda Sensing. When it comes to small roads Im more comfortable with Honda City to drive. Does the Honda City New RS has a Honda Sensing here in PH. I watched other channels from other country it has to them like in Cambodia.
But HRV S will have a significant price increase next year
