Nice shirt, shifty would be proud!👍👍🇺🇸
hi there well done . john
Pretty ingenious contraption. I’m sure glad I have my tractor though to change mine.
That is a genius way to change the wedge without having hydraulic power. Good work!
I love 18 inch, so do my customers who use fireplaces, not woodstoves. Longer wood means less pieces to handle. WOOOOO!
I wouldn’t trust those clips.Keeping your fingers and toes out of harms way is a must when working that apparatus. Stay safe.😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Works great your back is thanking you!
Looking good Scheib. That splitter makes you look like a Penn Dot worker standing there while it does all the work. Your just missing the shovel. Ha ha.
I would drill a hole in each wedge on both sides and use standard shackles so that it doesnt slip off ....That would be a better way to lift them, and I would weld a 2" section of pipe onto the mast and put a 16" piece of pipe in it to turn the mast easier when rotating the wedge.
Yes was thinking the same thing
What a nice invention to change the boxed wedge all by yourself. Might copy your idea Scheib =)
Nice idea to be able to do this by yourself
yeah man.
nice job,
Thank you! Cheers!
You could add a third chain in-between the two with a hook to stabilize the 5 way
Cool setup.
Good stuff Scheib. Like the hoist idea. Always good to save the back for the roadside logging. Lol.
Great video! Thanks for all the tips!
You bet!
That hoist is perfect!! Smarter, not harder 🍻🍻💪
Smart man you are. Always thinking, I like it. ❤
Kenny
That was a great job. Improvise at it's best
Thanks!
I live in Alabama and would love to own one of these. I love splitting red oak.
Nice invention, maybe patent it and Andrew can add it as an option on his splitters. Cheers my friend.
Nice way to change the wedge, Eastonmade should build one
Excellent job with switching out the wedges, also video scheib woo ! 😮😊
Thanks! 😃
I like the lifting mechanism….
The sling, not so much.
That’s some good MacGyver sh*t. I think adding the second angle piece is a good idea. With all that weight it helps with the bending moment….
What if you added a third chain at the front of the first wedge to alleviate the front heavy action?
Looks like you guys are having good weather. I’ll be out in north central PA racing my dirt bike in a couple weeks…
Nice stuff
Appreciate it
I just wrap a chain around my wedge and lift it using that. Might make it easier for you to pull up from the backside rather than the 55 gal drum hooks.
Great way to change wedges!! If you get an electric one, maybe 12v, you can hook up to the Gator for change out!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks for the tip
That hoist would be great for roadside logging those big rounds, especially if you add the 12v winch!
I would probably come up with something a little more robust.
Thanks
No problem
Really don't have to worry about pinning the swivel or upright cause once weight on not going anywhere
Box wedge makes it look so easy💪. One day I'll upgrade. I've often thought about cutting longer rounds for my stove, but will 2" really make a difference 🤔
The wedge is awesome ill have to bring it along when I come down your way. Now the 2" question I think you know who to ask LOL !!!!
Its "MILLER TIME "
👍👍
I think longer pieces split better in that setup because there is less chance of buckling and squashing sideways due to the length..
it really helps if you have a relatively straight cut
Hello Scheib. I hope your doing well. Take Care
I am!
Awesome splitting Scheib. I believe I have the same conveyor as you, however mine is powered by my tractor pto. Id like to put a motor on mine like yours. Could you show how yours is mounted in a video, Iv watched the older videos of yours but would like to see a little closer of the mounting bracket if you could please? Take Care Scheib !!!
Mine came with an electric motor i just used the mounting platform for that and put the engine on it. I am not sure how the pto version works I am sure there is some kind of gear box involved.
I have a walk around video of my gas engine on a converted conveyor. It should show what you need to make yours work. czcams.com/video/EYq8q5nn_fs/video.html
Could you please share the name of band and creator of the music you added during the splitting, liked it a lot

why doesn't Eastonmade provide lift points from the factory? Nothing more than a hole in both outside wedges at the balance point should suffice allowing either a chain hook or clevis.
There is one on the bottom the reason there is none on the top it would interfere with the pullback arm.
Wouldn't it be easier to move those wedges around on a dolly instead of moving them by hand 🤔.
I am working on it🤘🏻🤘🏻🍺🍺
chunks are a lil big to dry fast
That’s ok it has 2 years to dry before I need it.
They need to come up with some other type of lifting device looks pretty dangerous
This was my own brain child it was not made by Eastonmade.
Nice shirt 😂
thanks
do you think it's more productive than the ruggedmade with the mods??
absolutely
So great content share! Are you any plan for product review? we are glad to send you our headlight ,waiting for your reply in email.🥰
You are flirting with disaster! Just drill a hole on either side and use bolts to secure the wedge safely! You then eliminate the chance of slipping and dropping that wedge on 1 or both of your hands when you are trying to position the wedge! Also, when you encounter a knot. after your initial 1st pass/cycle, turn the round 90 degrees. Less surface area equals easier for the splitter to cycle through the round! My thoughts, anyway. Good vid!
Hey Scheib , I made something like this to fit into my truck hitch . I got a harbor freight 12volt Atv winch for it with a wireless remote . Very nice tool for changing your wedges !!! 🪵🇺🇸👍🏻
