“Expected but not appreciated” that’s golden! So good! ✨
Love it and that is so true. Plus you miss out on that "oh wow" response that gets people to spread the word about you. Great phrase Katelyn!
Thanks!!
Ooo. Now you got me thinking about how I can add value to my shoots!
It is a great thing to think about!
Came at the perfect time. I was just wondering if I should be doing what the first woman asked. Your answer makes so much sense!

Hi Katelyn, I have a turnaround of 4 to 6 weeks for wedding edits as I am new to editing and I have this written in my contracts. Do you think I should keep in contract or remove?
Advertising a fast turn around time might cheapen the appeared value of the gallery. It's almost a speed over quality debate. Not that her speed makes the quality bad but it might make it seem like the quality isn't there.
Someone told me before that their wedding photographer was going to give them at least XXXX photos and I thought it was so weird to tell a client that they'd get a specific number of photos because the client shouldn't want a specific number of photos, they should want a nicely curated and edited gallery telling the story of the wedding day. Again appearance of quality over quantity/speed is important (at least to me)
Thanks for watching!
Some clients ask me how many images they’ll receive. I don’t include that information in the contract, but I’ll provide an estimate to those clients interested.
This is so great! I want to take your course so much!
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Is the business collection something you would recommend for people in other countries? Or is it more focused on the US market??
We have students from all over the world!!
Wow ,🧸💞so nise
Thanks for watching!
You have an editor for your photos???
We do! I edit everything people see on the blog or instagram and then we have a editor that does the bulk edits.
I think the hard answer and the elephant in the room with this discussion is the quality of your work. Nothing will sell you as a creator better than the quality of your work. The biggest fairy tale photographers live in inside their head is "the client doesn't know the difference." And while it may be true a layman won't look at a photo and be like "this technical detail is wrong," lower quality creative work simply has less of an impact and wow factor and blends in with the masses. Stop focusing on what gimmicks will get you noticed. Focus on creating more and better content.
True! There is no replacing quality!!! However, in a saturated market, and in a SERVICE industry, your experience matters just as much (if not more) than your images. I have award-winning images and my clients ALWAYS talk about how we made them FEEL before they compliment the images. It's crazy! So while our work needs to be professional and constantly improving, good work alone won't cut it.
