Nice job, look at that beautiful red smoke ring. I can almost taste it.
Woot woot! Thank you so much brother! This was seriously so good, and the best part is how long the leftovers last! Well, not that long actually, but they were just as good as the initial sitting! :D
OH YEAH BABBY!!! I am so emotional right now.🐖
Haha!! Thank you so much brother! We definitely appreciate the encouragement - it’s a new realm for us, and we are so excited for this new journey!🤙🤙

So glad you guys are getting into smoking! This is so exciting! I've been smoking meat for years and it never gets old. I just did a brisket yesterday. Delicious! Griddle (and smoke) on, brothers!!
Thank you brother!!! This thing is a game-changer - we couldn’t be more happy or impressed, this unit is amazing!! Much love fam, we may need to reach into for some recipe ideas!!🔥🔥🤙🤙

Looks delicious guys. Love cooking. Culinary is one of my passions. I love to cook but baking\pastry is more my thing.
Thank you so much for watching fam! We love cooking for sure, and maybe someday we’ll get better at baking!😂😂. Take care Princess Paula!!💙💙
I'm getting ready to purchase one of those smokers like The one you guys have and it looks amazing and delicious
Wahoo!! This thing is so awesome! We have had so much fun with it!! Take care fam!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
I wrap it in foil at about 165 degrees. Helps speed up the process a little. Doesn't affect the end product at all. Just putting that out there from past experience.
Agreed! We did both ways, and, like you, we prefer to wrap it and get the juices - so good!! Thank you so much for watching and for the tip fam!🤙🤙
My favorite pulled pork yum!
Our favorite Kathleen! Woohoo!!!❤️🤙🏻

Thank you so much fam! The Rec Tec is amazing for sure, but we have been really impressed with what the Pit Boss can do!🤙🤙
Awesome cook guys wtg
Thank you so much as always brother!🤙🏻🤗
Yo brothers where can you buy a smoke tube like that. ? And could you use something like that on your blackstone ? THANK you Frank from montana...
Hey Frank! I picked this up at Lowe’s. Not sure you could get enough smoke on the Blackstone, it burns over a few hours, where all the Blackstone cooks happen in minutes. 🤙🤙
Cool first start of a smoker video.. well done boys. I usually do a 5050 mix of apple juice and apple cider vinegar for the spritzer but the beef broth sounds awesome and amazing. My girlfriend loves pulled pork 😂😂 I need to start posting videos. You inspired me with this. #allfornotmybrothas cheers from Sacramento again
Much love
I will definitely be giving the 5050 mix a try, I did a pulled pork using the cider as a spritz before and use apple juice to set the pork in for the final 2 hours, so good! Thank you as always for the love fam!
CURRENT SCORE: 6ginger snaps.
Haha!!😂😂. We love it!!🤙🤙
Great job guys. I don’t have a pellet but I have a SnS and use that for smoking meats, also use a tube for extra smoke at times. Prime rib is exceptional smoked. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you so much fam! We absolutely love this thing! We appreciate having the smoke tube, but we feel we will most likely use it sparingly, the meat has so much flavor and we like the smokiness we get just from the smoker itself! Much love fam!🤙🤙
Excellent first cook! Butt is very forgiving. I started scoring the fat cap in abut 1/4 inch deep in a cross pattern. Dude, it pulls off and is like pork candy that melts in your mouth. Almost like a burnt end! Good cook!
That’s awesome, I just watched a vid yesterday of someone else doing that, we are totally going to have to score it next time! 🤙🤙🔥🔥
@@waltwins wish it was my idea...but Heath Riles lol

This is so amazing guys! Is there anything you guys can’t do with food?
Woot woot!! Thank you so much brother! You know what’s crazy, we have found that the more we cook and do research, the more passionate we get about it! We absolutely love the pellet smoker and cannot wait to highlight some amazing cooks from it!! Take care brother!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
I got a smoker, the Pit Boss Lexington 500, for Father's Day this year. I absolutely love the thing-- it's the perfect companion for my Blackstone! In any case, pulled pork was also my first cook. I'm excited to hear more about your experiences with the Laredo. If I were to upgrade to a larger smoker with wifi, the Laredo would be my first choice. Smoke on!
Wow, that is so awesome fam! The only problem we are having so far, is finding time to smoke meat!😂😂. We are obsessed and cannot wait to do more with this amazing unit!! Much love fam!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Oh hell yeah! The Waltwins are barbecuing. Looking great! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much brother! We are expanding our backyard diner, and have fallen in love with this Pit Boss!!!❤️🤗🤙🏻
I just ordered the Weber smokefire pellet smoker
That’s so awesome! That is an incredible machine as well!! We just love the addition of smoke cooking and can’t wait to get it going!! Take care fam!🔥🔥

My Brothers, you NAILED IT!!!! I was so happy to help with this cook!
I really like the butter as a binder. It's different and creative.
You gotta try that Yard Bird rub I sent you...... next level!
Congrats on your first "Official smoke"!!!!!!!!!!
#CLEANBONEPULL #LEFTOVERSFORDAYS #CANNONSTRONG!!!!
That’s awesome man, I was literally holding the yardbird rub! What else is it good on??🔥🔥🤙🤙
@@waltwins I literally use it on EVERYTHING that goes on the smoker. Going to mix it with some coffee rub when I do my next cook in a week or so.
1 use a mustard binder, loaded the killer hogs bbq rub. Smoker set at 225 using apple pellets,Smoke time roughly one hour per pound, the pork butt placed over the fire box fat side down. Sprayed every 45 mins with plain apple juice. Taken off and wrapped in tin foil once it reached 160 internal temp. Will be placed back on and pulled at the 210 temp. Keep wrapped and rest on the counter top for about 45 mins to an hour. It will still be piping hot. There will be so much liquid in the wrap so I unwrap in a deep pan and save the juice for pork gravy... Great for mashed or whip tater covered with plain pulled pork and gravy 😋
You have no idea how much we appreciate you taking the time to tell us this. We will definitely do this! Please feel free to give us more ideas! You clearly know what you are doing, brother! 🤤🤤🤤
The thought of using the juice for gravy…..🤤🤤🤤🔥🔥🔥
@@waltwins thank you and your very welcome. And I've learned so much from you guys on the Blackstone. I smoke alot of pork butts and baby backs. Keep up the great videos!!
@@waltwins we also like to put the plain pulled pork and gravy over fries and cheese.
Oh man, that sounds amazing, and something we will have to try!!🔥🔥
Love making pork butts. I can't wait to see more of your cooks on the pitboss
Thank you so much fam! We love them too, and it helps that the price on these is so low right now!!🤙🤙
New smoker deserves a new intro
Haha!! We will work on it fam!🔥🔥
Hey Family! What did you brothers use for your Rub in addition to your 'Usual Suspects'? Love you guys!
Hey fam! I’ll have to go back and watch, it aside from butter, I believe the Usual Suspects is all we used! On other cooks we’ve used different rubs, but this one was just U.S. cheers fam!🤙🤙🔥🔥
This is so timely. Here in NW oregon and the rains have come so the blackstone has been put away...the smokers do better im the crappy weather and I always like to see different takes on the classic smokes...well done boys
Wow, this is perfect timing then! Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words, we can’t wait to show our take on some amazing cooks! We love the versatility in the cooks and learning - it’s a blast! Take care fam!🤙🤙
So many toys, so little time - LOL
Haha! Right??? And we are loving every second!! 🤗 Thank you so much fir watching, brother!!!🤙🏻
Over smoked? Never heard of that before! Surprised to see something besides the Blackstone. I will be moving soon so I have been waiting until after the move to buy my Blackstone griddle, can’t wait to get that started. I have had a pellet smoker for about 15 years and just love my Traeger. I am not commenting to debate smokers with you but to hopefully give y’all what I think is the ultimate Rib cook recipe. I have used this 100 times and best Ribs in the world, it’s called the 3-2-1 method. The night before I pull the silver skin from the bone side and salt and pepper them then coat them in mustard, wrap in plastic wrap and in the fridge over night. Next morning first remove from fridge and let them start coming up to room temp. Get your smoker ready and preheat to 180. I use 180 because this is the temp that my smoker produces the most smoke. Heavily Cover the ribs with your favorite rib rub, place on smoker bone side up for 3 hours. After 3 hours turn up to 250 place each rib rack in its on foil boat bone side up, add several pats of butter, brown sugar and a cup of apple juice then seal up foil and place back on smoker for 2 hours. After 2 hours removed from foil place back on smoker and cover in your favorite BBQ sauce for 1 hour watching them closely because they will burn sometimes it only takes 30 minutes to caramelize the sauce. I Bet money on the best, most tender and juicy Ribs you have ever eaten in you life. Give it a try.
That is absolutely amazing fam!! We are saving this one for sure! We have a rib cook coming up (for a comparison video), but this method will be bumped up on our list of smoker cooks!! Thank you for sharing this one!!🔥🔥🤙🤙
I have eaten over smoked pulled pork before and it was disgusting. Had to throw it away!!
Where do you buy the smoke tube ?
Thank you so much for watching! We picked it up at Lowe’s, the brand is A-MAZE-N

It would be great to see you guys do a video with "the bearded butchers"
Oh man, that would be an incredible dream come true! Those dudes are legit incredible! #GOALS 🔥🔥🤙🤙
Why do you need the Smoke tube ? I was thinking the smoker made all the smoke while cooking the food ?
Thank you so much for watching! It isn’t necessary - that said, the pellet smokers don’t put out as much smoke as a wood or charcoal smoker would, so the tube gives more direct smoke to the meat. Honestly, it’s something we may use sparingly, as we’ve done a few cooks and the difference in taste. (As far as we can tell) is minimal. Take care!🤙🤙
@@waltwins ok tyvm sir I’m buying that same smoker that’s why I was wondering tyvm for your time
@@po6600 oh awesome! Our honest opinion is that this is an incredible machine, we have been so happy with it!!

Haha!! You are so awesome man, thank you for all of the positive support! This definitely pushes us outside of our comfort zone, but we are loving it! And for sure, ribs will be coming very soon!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
If you want a really moist pulled pork injection is the way to go I put apple juice in mine and wrap at the stall around 160 or so and I use bad Byron’s butt rub win I wrap brown sugar and butter and honey
We will definitely be injecting moving forward! Thank you so much for watching, Bart! And for the great advice! We appreciate you brother!🤙🏻😁
Nice job gentlemen! One thing I like to do when smoking a pork butt is to smoke it for 5-6 hours (or sometimes even longer) at a lower temp and then put it into a foil pan (sometimes covering the pan with foil as well and adding in a little apple juice) and turn the smoker up to 275 to finish the cook. This way, it collects a lot of the juices that run out during the cook to mix in when pulling it apart. I seem to still get plenty of smokey flavor and smoke ring but also get to keep some of the yummy juice these things put out to mix in with the final product. Keep up the good work!
Excellent! We have done one this way, and for sure will do it again. The juices collected in the pan give it so much flavor - we wanted to try a “simple” method that was also so good! Much love man, thank you for sharing! We will feature another cook in the future using this method!🔥🔥
You did it all right I've done a lot of butts on my pitboss looks great
Thank you so much fam! We can't wait to keep working on it and getting better and better! Take care!
I do 8 hrs in crockpot. Probably not as big as yours.
We love how easy it is to do in the crockpot! So good!!😄😄💙💙
OMG!!! This looks AMAZING!! I'm very excited to follow your low and slow adventures!!
Wahoo!! Thank you brother, you know we love your support!!🔥🔥
Brethren! The pork looks delicious! So excited about all the upcoming cooks and smoked meats. This is a must for the #Waltwins food truck. This is a game changer. Well done!
Yes!!! You have got to try this pork when you come visit brother!!! And more!!!🤗🤗🤗
Hey guys what was the exact purpose of using the water pan?
Thank you so much for watching! Great question - it helps with the moisture which can help the smoke “stick” to the meat. It also helps regulate the temp over long periods of time. We don’t always use it, but used it based on several recommendations - it worked great! Take care!🤙🤙
Look at my guys, they are all grown up and smoking meat now ! Guys, please double check your user manual. Pit Boss ( or any other smoker company) does not recommend smoking any type of pickles ! Now you can put some Uncle Steves Shake to use ! Try Pig Shake on some pork ribs ! The back where you did the temp check is the money muscle, the best piece of a pork shoulder/ butt! Nice job Gents ! Save that bone for your next cook on the smoker, it will give Brett something to gnaw on while waiting!
Haha!! You know, we are in desperate need of a pickle rub, what do you think?!😂😂. This for sure was fun, we can’t wait to do some cooks featuring Uncle Steve’s shakes!! Thanks for the kind words brother, we still have much to learn, but we are already obsessed!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Great job! Congratulations on your first smoke! You both nailed it! Looks absolutely mouth watering! Looking forward to your future smokes! Be well! 🌞 👏👏
Wow, thank you again! This will bring a new element to what we love and we cannot wait to highlight some amazing things!! Take care fam!!💙💙
twins, did you do this because I asked for you to get a smoker? I did ask, more of an egg on.
Because of you, and others! Thank you so much for asking and encouraging us! We love it!! Keep suggestions coming, brother! We are all ears!🤗❤️👂🏻
Ok, so you guys need to stick to the Blackstone. Otherwise, I'll lose what few views I get from my Pit Boss videos 🤣😂🤣 Just kidding, awesome job on that butt! Incredible smoke ring, it pulled great and looked nice and juicy! Not wrapping it, takes longer but I'm sure you were going for that bark! Only tip I will give is ditch the Pit Boss pellets if you are using them. You'll get a lot more smoke from Bear Mountain, Lumberjack, Kingsford, Weber pellets. Cheers..... My Brothers! And congratulations again on that sweet Laredo!
Thank you for the tip on pellets! We’d never take your views brother!😂😂 we love what you do and you inspired us! Maybe when things get better, we can do a collab on the Pit Boss!!🔥🔥
Not sure I’ve eaten it smoked?
It’s so good! It’s similar to the flavor of meat you’d get at a barbecue restaurant.😁😁
Welcome to the world of pellet smoking guys!! I absolutely love the unit Pit Boss sent you. Great debut cook on it!! You all are awesome. 🔥🔥
Woot woot!! Thank you so much brother! We are so excited to add this to our Backyard Diner, it’s been a blast so far and we can’t wait to do more!!🤙🤙
I have never cooked on a pellet grill before. I have an Oklahoma Joe’s smoker grill and love it. I just smoked some pulled pork this weekend. I use pork loin for mine. It turns out amazing. Low fat content. (Only a little on the bottom) have you ever heard of Wicker’s marinade? It is a local company in my area. I pour it in an aluminum pan and let it steam as it boils. I mix brown sugar in an it makes an awesome sauce for it. I will even put the pork in it as it boils. Amazing flavor. A little sweet and a little spicy.
Wow, that sounds absolutely amazing brother!! We haven’t heard of the marinade, but we love the idea of a tenderloin smoked cook!!🔥🔥
Now we're talking my language boys! This is the series I can't wait to get into. I have a smoker and use it often to make pastrami and bacon. Looking forward to seeing your guys take on these...love from your cali griddle family! 🤙
Oh yes!! That is so awesome! We love it already and are dying to do bacon!! We may have to reach out to learn your process brother!!😁😁. Take care Cali Fam!!
I love my Pit Boss. I've had my Austin XL for 2 1/2 years. Next you should do smoked cheese using the smoke tube. That pork butt looked amazing.
Oh man, we cannot wait to do smoked cheese! It will be a cook we do sooner rather than later! Much love fam!!🔥🔥
@@waltwins there are a lot of videos about how to do it and about how long it needs to set in the fridge (weeks) before eating it. But one thing they never said was when you try it the first time try it cold and at room temperature. I almost put it in the trash after trying it cold. I like it a lot better a room temperature.
Oh wow, we watched The Hungry Hussey do it, and he ate it just about right out of the smoker - looked really good hot!
Last time I did butts, I think it was 19 hours. On late and slept all night.
HOLY COW! Look at you guys go. So does this mean that your zip code is going to change?? Food reviewers to meat smokers and everything in between. Good job guys and oh yeah, the meat looked awesome.
Haha!! Thank you fam! We have been so excited to highlight some amazing cooks on this beast - and we have been so impressed!! More to come!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
looking at the Laredo myself but I've heard it doesn't produce the amount of smoke the other pellet grills do, what do you guys think about it?
Thank you so much for watching! In our experience, it seems to produce just as much smoke as other pellet smokers. Pit Boss also sells a smoke tube that you can use, placing additional pellets in and placing it next to the meat that will give extra smoke. Hope this helps fam!🤙🤙
Awesome video guys FYI I set my pork on a wire rack that fits over a tin food tray and I catch all the juices. It also makes it easy to pick up without falling apart. Again great video looked amazing
This is what we will be doing next time for sure brother! Thank you so much for watching and for the tip!!🔥🔥🤙🤙
@@waltwins the pulled pork on the Blackstone the next day sandwiches is awesome
That looked so good. I usually try to do a couple pork butts a year. It is definitely a labor of love.I always use brioche buns and a touch if bbq sauce on mine. After all that time making it I don't won't to kill the smoke flavor with sauce. Lol.Can't wait to see your future cooks on this. I use a drum smoker I made myself.
That’s awesome man! We definitely appreciate having the Pit Boss, and we are super excited to highlight more cooks in the future!!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Beautiful job guys. That is a textbook butt right there. So fun to see you start this new phase of your journey! Great choice for a first cook. Brisket should be on the list but buckle up it’s a lifetime project to perfection lol. Cheers my friends.

You both make beautiful butt together, wait what... lol. It's so fun to be on this new journey with you guys. I look forward to seeing so many new and exciting things. Oh I can't wait to get a pellet grill/smoker! I have smoked a butt or two (or 40) on my Weber, it's so much work! I love how you can set the temp with that thing! Lately I have been doing pork butts in our 8 qt pressure cooker... comes out so good, and so fast, it's hard to even take the effort to light up that Weber again. I do love that smoke flavor though, man! Anyway, nice one guys, so exciting! Pellet On!?? Smoke On (nah, sounds like chain smoker, lol).
Haha!! We are still working on a. Catch phrase…😂😂. This is so much fun to cook on! For sure the quick and ease of the pressure/slow cooker is amazing, but we also love the process of getting to cook this outdoors - you can’t beat the smell!! Much love brother!!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Send me an email address. I used to work in a REAL Bar-B-que restaurant as a cook.

Adamandbrett@gmail.co🤗🤙🏻🤗🤙🏻
I have sent the recipes that i spoke about. But i keep getting it back, with the notation that it hasn't been accepted by your email.
There seems to be some sort of issue.
Why in the world are you using a smoke tube on a pellet grill?!?! PitBoss is going to ask the same thing.
This makes zero sense...
Thank you for watching brother - the A-MAZE-N smoke tube is actually a Dansons product, the company that brings Pit Boss. We respect the comment and sincere question - the pellet smoker at the heat we cooked at, yes, will bring smoke, but not at the same intensity at a lower longer cook you may do with wood. That said, the smoke is great, but to get the intense smoke, the tube really helps. Hope this makes sense brother! We don’t always use it, but it was good for this cook. Cheers!🤙🤙
