Onboard the delayed 16:30 from Nottingham to St. Pancras on Saturday 18th October 2014. Due to engineering work EMT were running a slightly reduced service, this meant that the 2x hourly services from Nottingham to London were both stoppers from Leicester and the London-Corby service was suspended and only operated as a shuttle service between Kettering & Corby. So unlike the usual service which is non-stop from Market Harborough, this service additionally called at Kettering, Wellingborough, Bedford and Luton. Before departure from Nottingham it became apparent that there was a problem with the front loco so we were delayed departing. At first they thought we were going to be powered by only one engine, but they fixed the problem and we departed just under 15mins late. However in that time a class 156 had departed, so therefore we were stuck behind that too, before being crossed over onto the Slow Lines near Radlett. Eventually we arrived at St Pancras over 20mins late and passengers had already started bombarding their way down the platform to board the train, to form the delayed 19:00 departure back to Nottingham!
So rather problematic, very enjoyable non the less.
    Thanks for watching

Rode on one of these a month ago from Derby to London - calling only at East Midlands Parkway and Leicester. Luckily for me nothing went awry except some engineering work on the Thameslink lines which delayed us slightly. Was so glad I waited just a little longer instead of boarding the 222 back to London 30 minutes beforehand. :D

Some people just cant be patient. I am not surprised the person making the special safety announcement at St Pancras sounded very irritated.
