The alternative mining solutions for land-based mines proven by the VAMOS project

In a disused silver mine an alternative mining solution has been put to the test. The VAMOS project- an industry-wide group of companies all attributing their own expertise - has tested a new Remote Operated mining Vehicle (ROV). Damen Dredging Equipment added expertise in the dredge pump and cutter unit. The full scale test on location, which included cutting hard rock, has proven that the VAMOS ROV is a viable alternative mine operating system.
