  • Calling Turkeys can be among the most rewarding undertakings a hunter can pursue. When a longbeard commits, rest assured there is nothing like it. Knowing when and how much to call to turkeys in the spring woods can be challenging and is something that just takes a bit of time and experience however there are some strategies that hunters can use to up their odds at success.
    When calling Spring Gobblers patience is key along with knowing the different calls and the times to use them. It’s often thought that you need to be a great caller to successfully harvest turkey. While learning to use a turkey call effectively is a large part of it, knowing how to actually communicate with turkeys is even more important. Learning to yelp on a turkey call is about as little as it takes to kill the right turkey at the right time. Adding other calls to your strategy is icing on the cake.

Along with the different scenarios each call is demonstrated using a mouth call. Learning to use a mouth call for turkeys can increase your success rates by tenfold.     Had the same thing happened to me this past Saturday in Central Alabama. Still learning to kill my first turkey ever.
