Our Salus died, sceptically tried the batteries out for 24 hours, now works perfectly. You sir are a genius, my family thanks you.

Thank you. Left the batteries out all night and when I put them back this morning, it sprang back to life.

No need to leave overnight, just wait 5 mins before putting the new batteries after removing the old ones. :-)

Thank you so much, took the battery out for 30 min and then reinserted new set of batteries and then it came back to life.

Thanks, having arrived home from work to a cold house and a worried family they looked upon me as I’m an electrician to fix the problem. Your video made sense to me but the overnight wait didn’t go down to well and then I spotted in the comments about manually discharging the capacitor. What a brilliant idea and is worthy of updating your video. This was easily achieved just but using a pair of side-cutters and going across the + and - battery terminals (do both ends) of the ‘stat. On inserting the batteries the display came to life and the heating started up.
Many thanks to you and to the person with the great advice

      Will do

Yeah that fixed it. Changed batteries and no display. Who would think a design flaw like a capacitor needing discharged would be such an issue.

Great it worked , i instead leaving it overnight , did a short circuit to the battery terminals , i believe it discharged the capacitors inside the unit and reset every thing back to factory settings

There is a capacitor in the thermostat that needs at least 30 min to discharge before putting in new batteries. This is not mentioned by Salus in any of their instructions which is disappointing. I previously bought a unit to replace what I thought was a faulty unit and the unit was fine.

Also there are two little switches inside the back, for some reason they switch to off, might be something to do with low battery, just switch them back to on and put new batteries in.

From memory 1ts 0.5 or 1 degree option to thermostat sensitivity and 7 days or 5+2 programmability ?

Our receiver has been acting up for a week or so. I changed the batteries and it worked for a few days until now, the screens gone blank. I'll try your way and leave batteries out for an hour and see....

Our display works - but the 'heating' icon not showing, even when we press the manual 'hand' icon. And therefore heating not coming on either. Water working fine though.

Do you have the small green light on the recever? When you hit the up arrow to 25 what happens. When you hit it down to say 18 degrees what happens.?
