Its like the heise era repeating it self godzilla vs destroyah- nuclear thermo godzilla- godzilla jr and the blue nuclear blast!
The last two movies have been very Kong focused - Iove the both BUT, I think Goji deserves more of the emphasis in this "kaiju not human focused" way of the recent monsterverse.
Especially if the movies are GvK and GxK - Godzilla is supposed to be top billing!
I want to see more of past allies with BIG ties to Godzilla - like Mothra, Rodan, Anguirus AND yes Godzilla Jr. Why's Kong got a whole tribe of homies, and suko (like kong jr)
and Shimo ? BUT Goji is portrayed as having NO actual permanent allies (past mothra)
Like he got no "wingmen" ?? That's not how it's been.
as for "big bads" Destroyah, Gigan, Biollante, Space Godzilla, Mecha Ghidorah (that head is still in play after the destruction of Mecha G; there are SO many good ones to choose from.

@alio6051 - I 100% agree. But i think Goji needs more focus here, i loved Kong's development in the past 2 movies. They gotta do more gor the supposedly "top billed" character, is all I'm saying.
It’s because people relate to Kong more than Godzilla. So it’s easier to portray his stories as opposed to Godzilla lol.
Kong is definitely the "wingman" or peer. Mothra is Zillas queen.
I like that they aren't jumping the gun on destroyah because it would likely be the equivalent of endgame for Marvel. It's the most sought after film in the monster verse and it would be hard to top. I think going with something organic would be an interesting approach. Maybe having a team of lesser titans against godzilla and co. Like rodan, quetzalcoatl, and Yamata no orochi, or amhuluk and biolante, or even tiamat, na kika and leviathan. Would be interesting to see these "teams" challenge each other, or even films of other titans going head to head. Would also love a show, similar to "deadliest warrior" from Spike TV that would compare titans going head to head. Wonder if any of these things could potentially happen 😅

He better not touch Godzilla vs Destoroyah for a while. They already brought Ghidorah in way too soon (though it was necessary). So many other cool villains to hit first.
In all fairness, Ghidorah has shown up early in each era.
In the Showa era, he was the fifth opponent Godzilla fought (Following Anguirus, Kong, Mothra, then Rodan)
In the Heisei era, he was the second (following Biollante)
In the Millennium era, that's a bit controversial, because the Millennium era movies are disconnected from one another, but Ghidorah has shown up in two Millennium era movies. in GMK, Ghidorah was the third opponent Godzilla fought, and then in Final Wars, he was the seventh (or eighth if you wanna consider Monster X a separate monster despite transforming into Keizer Ghidorah)
I want to see Kongzilla, the fusion of Godzilla and King Kong, fight Destroyah.

Destroyah should be an endgame in villain, something to end off the MV or at least this saga. Though, the build up of Destroyah could start in the upcoming film like how Thanos was looming in the background for several films before he took the spotlight in IW
The next movie could be the last one. The monsterverse isn’t like marvel or DC with a whole slew of heros and villains to cover. We have Godzilla and Kong.. that’s it.. let’s be real there not going to ever do a solo mothra or Rodan movie. So as far as having an over arching villain like thanos in the MV it’s just not gonna happen. We would be lucky to get a Gamera movie after the next one cuz like I said it’ll probably be the last one
According to Legendary executives, the monsterverse is just beginning. It's slim that it's going to be the last, there are still some routes to go as Wingard states despite not having the same assets the Marvel has. We don't need solo rodan or mothra films tbh since they don't have that influence Godzilla or Kong has but people are still happy to see them as supporting kaiju.
Destroyah can function as an overarching villain actually. A chance for his appearance is already there within that zone blasted by the oxygen destroyer. How they'll build him up I don't know, but I hope they give at least another movie before introducing him in a tiny way such as foreshadowing or after credits. If Wingard wants that emotional high, he'll need to build up on it.
Yeah the MV isn't gonna be doing something revolutionary like MCU did. But the numbers and reception show: we want more.
@@platinumwarrior1309 They literally just made the leap to TV shows, which means they are diversifying the franchise. They still have a lot of Toho stories they can adapt too. Legendary also own Pacific Rim, so if they wanted to go crazy and have a crossover, they could do that

When we get Destroyah it will most likely be the darkest movie they’ve made to date unless they somehow manage to mess it up. He will almost certainly be the final boss and the end of the current generation’s monster verse, with Godzilla Jr. and Suko taking the place of our current leading titans.

Everything sounds good financially it’s doing well and sounds like it’s going in a good direction with more monsters and more Godzilla. Idk if I’m getting ahead of myself but this might become like the mcu not the bad parts hopefully
Ngl would love a series or movie exploring more about shimo, we don’t really know much about her and she has a lot of potential to be a big fan favourite titan
Definitely want to see destroyah appear on the silver screen. I know people say the recent monsterverse films are more comical/wacky compared to G14 & KSI, but the tv series monarch captures that vibe/scale so much while staying true to the lore of the sequels. Monarch can capture the human side while the monsterverse films can continue to explore more of the titans’ story.
I think monarch season 2 exploring the aftermath of the alpha call is a brilliant move, exploring the destruction of multiple kaijus & humanity coming to terms with living with them. Also to explore the human characters introduced in it, the apex group & the human eco terrorists deserve to be recurring characters going forward.
I think a spin-off like skull island for monstervese could work to flesh out original titans and even a way to incorporate toho classics that haven’t yet made it to the monsterverse yet.
I think a limited series that explores the ancient Titan world would work well, exploring the Titan war/Gojira race deaths, the freezing of Ghidorah & the events of the mutos setting up G14.
As for films, I see a solo godzilla film, maybe to introduce godzilla jr, possibly as a result of humans experimenting on titans. (Logical step is seeing a group weaponise, experiment & even create artificial kaijus. A way to bring in gigan who’s an enhanced muto variant or hedoraha from pollution, man meddling in nature.) also a way for godzilla to relate to humans again on a personal level, to make him more sympathetic to humanity again.
I can also see a king hollow earth film, a group taking over HE, probably to colonise/capitalise on resources but endangers the ecosystem. Explores the hollow earth and possibly other future threats that could attack humanity.

Okay, so people need to stop assuming that Destroyer will be the next villain, or that he will even appear in the Monsterverse at all. For one thing, Wingard didn't actually say he was planning to use Destroyer, just that he wanted to make a film that had an emotional impact like what GvsDes gave. Second, it would be a monumental task for Wingard just to push Legendary to buy the rights for Destroyer or any other Toho kaiju for that matter. It is said that the new heads at Legendary that took over from Thomas Tull don't share Tull's enthusiasm for Toho kaiju, and they are extremely reluctant to buy the rights to more Toho monsters besides Godzilla, especially after G: KotM's underperformance. Wingard had to fight pretty hard just to get them to renew the rights to Mothra for GxK, and they would probably be far less charitable about buying the rights to a monster like Destroyer.
Lets just hope that they don't lose their magic if they're gonna give this the MCU treatment with phases and such. I wanna see this franchise go way further than what they did.

If anything he’d likely be the final boss of the second phase. Things seem to be going the direction of space Godzilla right now, with it ending the first phase. The second phase will probably be more mutant/technology based, with titans such as Biollante and Gigan, possibly even Mecha Godzilla II or mecha gihdorah. I’d assume they’re going to build up Godzilla Jr. and Suko as the heirs to the throne over the next phase as personally I believe both Kong and Godzilla will die (or sacrifice themselves) in order to defeat Destroyah on the big screen
Kong might die, but Godzilla won’t. Part of Toho’s contract to anyone who buys the rights to Godzilla is the fact that Godzilla can’t die. Unless Toho has given the green light for Legendary to kill the King, I wouldn’t expect it to happen.

@@mikemead7417 that seems to be the general consensus although contracts can be negotiated. I have read that the Toho contract clause states that Godzilla cannot die UNLESS they have properly established an heir to his throne, which would seemingly be done by introducing a Godzilla jr which would take his place while Suko takes Kong’s birthing the next generation of monster verse movies in the far future. The whole clause seems to originate from the 98 Godzilla movie in which he was killed by missiles, which seemed to have pissed off toho because “Americans can’t accept that their weapons can’t kill everything”. I’m sure if they were to keep his death distanced from human interference, while having a noble sacrifice relating to other titans, as well as having an established heir to his throne, they would definitely greenlight the idea. But yes, to a certain extent it’s entirely plausible Toho would still be hesitant to have it happen.

Lil' antics Doug gets up to in a cute way, occasionally crossing paths with other titans like Shimo and Kong, just wondering and getting into non-serious nor dire conflicts, like fighting over a carcass for food, biting a Skull Crawlers tail and stealing their comfy sleeping spot, setting out on an adventure to find a comfy rock to sun-bath on, on the surface and running into Godzilla who begrudgingly shows them a good spot to lay together.
Like I'm all for the nuanced titan politics and territorial domains explored and adult centered and serious/environmental themes on the human side.
But Doug is just pure, simple, and perfect for a younger audience and a break for the older fans. Hell I'd settle for 5min skits that appear before the movie of every following movie to come like the Pixar Shorts. The Doug Shorts. I hope they do something with them. xD

I think of a scene from DOOM eternal, when DOOM Slayer awakened The Dark Lord. And this kind of scene in some way i want to see in Monsterverse. Like Godzilla finds anothee portal in Hollow Earth, that connects Earth to some other place, maybe even extraterrestrial. This my also explain how Ghidorah arrived to Earth, maybe this place might be Venus, the second planet of solar system. There is finds Space Godzilla and both had breef, silent yet very epic convo. Like:
Godzilla wants to fight him right away, but Space Godzilla refuses, seeing how badly injured Godzilla and he emplies that Godzilla must heal his wounds, get strong. After that, they will settle the matter. And then Space Godzilla walks away into the portal to Hollow Earth.
I think it's too early for destroyah. I do want to see him, but not yet. Still do something crazy like space godzilla AND gigan at the same time. Destroyah is like the final boss and the monsterverse shouldn't end yet. There's still so much to tell

Before destoroyah, I want to see mecha-king ghidorah, biolante, and then space godzilla. It wouldnt happen but i wouldnt be against monster x/ kaiser ghidorah

The rule states that Godzilla cannot be killed UNLESS they establish an “heir to the throne”. I’d like to believe we’ll get Godzilla jr in the second phase (possibly as a result of Godzilla and Shimo mating) and both him and Suko will be built up as heirs to the throne. I personally believe we still have a handful of movies left before Destroyah is even a possibility, as I think both Kong and Godzilla will die (or sacrifice themselves) in order to defeat Destroyah on the big screen, opening the path for Suko and Godzilla Jr. to take the spotlight as the next generation’s main titans
With me being team Godzilla I will say the star of GxK was undoubtedly Kong and Suko. The 20 some minutes of no dialogue with suko and Kong adventuring inside the hollow earth with the was easily my favorite part of the movie. I would love a movie with little to no humans. I think it would work well with the true MV fans.

I have a theory what if they introduce Destroyah by Making Him a fusion of Godzillas son and King Ghidorah? And they could introduce Godzillas son by saying he is a child of Shimo and Godzilla. So Destroyah Still kills Godzilla’s son and It could be a fun way of bringing Ghidorah Back one last time

Hey bubba narrator! Maybe you should watch the Godzilla vs. Destroyah again, the only reason Godzilla was struggling against Destroyah was because Godzilla was already dying, his heart reactor was overloading, not because he couldn't defeat his opponent. and as for Godzilla Jr. He wasn't totally dead, Godzilla offered some of his radioactivity when he breathe it into his son as he lay there dying. Which he absorbed every bit of it after Godzilla melted down .

All the earth monsters haven't even been introduced yet. they're skipping around Alot and leaving loose ends. First off giving kong a metal hand this early was wack. Mecha King Ghidorah should've been the next movie or Mecha Godzilla 2 or Mogera. Then introduce Anguirus , Megalon, Baragon, Battra, and Megaguirus

I LOVE the current monsterverse, but my god the human element after/since King of the Monsters ( best in series so far by a lot) has been so overwhelmingly cheesy, poorly written garbage. Had high hopes not seeing Millie bobbie brown on the cast list but god they did this movie dirty. I felt like GxK was 2 hrs of repairing Kong teeth and limbs, way too much iwi kiwi and shimo was a bum...my hype was destroyed and i love this video. But hard to be hopeful honestly
I don't have faith in Wingard to do a Godzilla focused movie. He's not a big fan of the G Man and had admitted to much more strongly preferring Kong. He needs to get off the franchise and we need a Godzilla fan to take over for a while. To date, King of the Monsters is as good as it's gotten, and that's not a compliment in a series with 'Godzilla' in the name.
A Godzilla fan has been taking over since the beginning. Godzilla and his plot armor is the lamest thing in all of these movies, it’s about time Godzilla gets some embarrassment. Plot armor is the only thing Godzilla has without that he’d have died against king ghidoriah.

@KoolRunnings09 Shut the hell up, if it weren't for godzilla being the og grandfather of all giant monster movies you wouldn't have the ability to say that. Godzilla movies need someone who know his previous iterations to properly get his feel and so it doesn't end up like 98's Zilla (originally Godzilla but it was so bad that toho bought the rights just to clown on it and then put it in a very one sided fight against Godzilla in final wars). Godzilla and Kong are two very different things sweetheart, you're comparing a literal nuke to an oversized fucking primate. Godzilla has more recognition and experience in his pinky than Kong has had in his entire career and has always done it much, much better. If he doesn't have someone who's actually interested in his character then the movie goes nowhere, you get the DC universe post Schneider which was complete ass. So please think before you say "Godzilla only has plot armor going for him", because Kong has way more plot armor than he does.

The director is a Godzilla fanboy, no hate for being a fanboy though.
But saying that Godzilla was a side character in past movies, is a big statement.
The movies were focused on him being killing other titans, getting beaten and then getting absurd powerups(plot Armor) and then going on killing the villain.
This happened in gvk, gxk, gkom etc..
There still needs a human element to this. It can be done by pushing the run time to 2 hours 20 minutes or so. I like the 2014, 2019, & Monarch vibes. No Ultraman or cartoonish tones or I’m out. Just don’t do big G dirty.
