★ Auld Lang Syne★ is a wonderful gift from God that unites the hearts of people as “ One” by singing all together.
This is the tune which till date is played at all our military academies during the passing our parade of cadets. Whenever I hear this tune I have tears in my eyes for I remember the culmination of three most wonderful years of my life while under training as an Army Cadet at The National Defense Academy pune India. The other revered tune in our Army is " Abide by Me". My unit pipers have played this tune at 15000' . No Scot will be able to do it even after acclimatization. I remember a British army delegation visiting us 0900h - 1200 h ( arr & dep by heptrs). They were stunned by our pipers while we offered them pink Gin. Mind you there only three hillmen amongst the pipers the rest being plainsmen one even from the Southern tip of India.
They removed Abide by me in the Beating Retreat. They will remove Auld Lang Syne too

We are still longing to the tune as we are once under the empire of Britain and most of the officer who came were Scottish and Wales. They inspired our culture too and especially we the Noth East States of India, which used to be excluded area of India are a hilly region, and our development are through the Missionaries of Scottish and Wales, so, we culture are influence of them.
