I think was Paris needs to hear is "I'm so sorry we sent you into these camps and put you through this, you didn't deserve that and no child should go through the pain you went through"

Exactly. She just needs validation that they messed up and they see that they messed up and that they're sorry for it.
but can you imagine how hard is must have been for the mother to NOT know all these years? The documentary was torture for her. Even after decades she still blames the child for all the abuse the child had to endure. And the child needed to say "I love you"
@@chrstianiaBlaming the victim is all too common and is an auto-response for staying in the comforts of denial, to avoid guilt that the the child suffered and the adults failed to protect.

I love how Kathy just kicked off her shoes and got real comfortable. I don’t think I would have thought she was like that given how proper she seems to be. That makes me love her even more.

This has always been my thought!! Like they didn't know the abuse and the trauma but they consented to have their child abducted in the middle of the night - which would be terrifying!! As a parent myself I can't comprehend

It doesn’t seem like Kathy is able to fully own her part in shipping her daughter out when times were difficult. Her attention slips back and forth between herself and Paris but she gravitates more toward herself. I don’t think she’s comfortable accepting accountability, especially publicly. And Paris looks sad when her mom talks about it. I don’t think Paris thinks her mom gets it but they have to play nice to keep the peace. I’m glad for Paris that she married such a nice man.
Paris is 40 and looks 28. I hope she gets all the children she’s being praying and wanting

I've personally always like Paris. Ever since that original Simple Life show, where it was obvious through the obnoxious facade that she was a kind-hearted good person on the inside.
She was actually really funny on that show. I could see the acting, but she made me laugh!

I’m so glad Kathy emphasized that what Paris went through is fully about Paris and not about her pain as a parent. A lot of parents don’t let their children own their own trauma.

I am so happy for Paris! She is an extremely intelligent and beautiful woman with a great sense of humour and a beautiful heart. She has been trolled by the media for most of her life and taken advantage of by so called friends and partners. I hope she gets everything she hopes for and lives a full and beautiful life with her husband and just be happy!

I must have an unpopular opinion because I'm still not convinced that Kathy didn't know about the abuse. Plus when Paris first started her documentary the first thing Kathy said was "what is this going to do to our reputation?". She's just doing damage control for herself.
Yep. It is quite sad. Her parents having been trying to control her put her away and shut her up. I am glad she did not and now is telling her story of abuse. But Mommy dearest is doing damage control. She knew her daughter was being abused on some level but did not care because it was inconvenient for her. Too bad Paris does not seem to get the extent to which her mother played in allowing her to be abused.

Maybe it took her time to accept it. My mom used to also care about reputation when i was younger and denied my trauma when i was younger but she changed with time, parents can change, and if Paris is happy with her mom having changed and it brings peace to her heart then that's a good thing

*It's a problem to many parent's who don't ask their children what's going on in their life. Many kids have fear to talk so it's the parent responsibility to ask, have a conversation and your child will spill out everything. I used to stay without food at school and many things happened into my life that my parent's didn't know. And when you ask about your history it's like they don't want you to speak about their faults. I'm glad Paris mother came out to talk and understand each other and forgive each other. Though it's too late BUT BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!* 😍❤

I remember how horrible the media was towards Paris. She grew up to be such an entrepreneur hard working woman. Kathy is very sweet.

I luv this clip. Very authentic and honestly, Paris has so much pain inside it's almost tangible. When she was hugging her mother you could see it. She doesn't want to hurt her mother because she knows her mother (of course) didn't know Paris was being abused. Seems to me Paris wants to protect her mother but is still hurt by the extent of her experiences in that place (and perhaps won't get over it but learn to live with it). Hopefully she will keep working thru those memories and will have a supportive partner by her side in the future. Seems her husband is a great match for her and I'm so happy for them both. ❤💜💙💛

This was necessary after the documentary to see her mother finally embrace the situation. It’s not our business or her job to but since we seen an emotionally distant (maybe distraught) response after the reveal of her documentary, this was something necessary for us to see the mother Kathy really is. And she always has seemed to be an amazing mother. She took some backlash after paris documentary so this was great. More importantly, a heeling experience for paris,
Not everyone can have hope with their parents. sometimes it's not "full circle" but actually breaking the cycle. it's hard.
and it's necessary if you want to raise healthy kids.
Maybe Kathy was naive to the abuse but she was fully informed about how Paris was removed from the home in the middle of the night. Surely some thought went into the fact you were scarring your child for life? Waking a child up from their safe place and ripping them out of their bed? You can't cover that Kathy.

I was at Ascent after Paris in 2001. She has given me so much validation. I wish my parents, at least my mom for this analogy, could be half the woman Kathy is. They don’t want to hear about it. When I try to talk my mom just reminds me how she was a victim of that place too. OK I get it but my parents just don’t.

My parents considered sending my sister to a school like that cause she was getting out of hand as a teen but Ultimately decided against it. If they had sent her and she'd told them she was being mistreated beyond restrictions due to behavior or inappropriately, they'd have pulled her out of there immediately.

It's so true! I couldn't tell my mom things that really happened, that she didnt know about, and she never would have known... if I didnt speak out one day, and also tell her that she was a good mom, and I forgave her.
You're lucky, very much so... no ones as temperamental as my mine... most people dont get it. Especially, people that can be happy together, and do family things together.
We dont really do family activities very often. So it feels like a battle to lift that up.
Now, I finally can realise, it's not my responsibility.

The details about what happened to her is absolutely sickening.
These details were terrible and horrific.

Paris told Kathy what was happening to her and Kathy chose to not listen or believe her. Kathy is VERY lucky Paris is so forgiving but you can tell Paris has still not completely gotten over the fact that her mother didn't save her. Paris is the person who should be praised in this situation. And I actually enjoy Kathy a lot, but she definitely dropped the ball.
