Her ability to look completely different in each movie is amazing...the way she can just morph into these totally different characters. She has also managed to not become a diva in spite of her beauty and talent, she still seems down to earth and a genuinely sweet person. Love her!

What pissed me last year is that Amy Adams didn’t get an Oscar Nomination when she appeared on Arrival and The Nocturnal Animals. However, both of the movies didn’t have an Oscar nomination for Amy Adams. She deserves it the next time she appear in a movie.

Arrival demanded at the very least a nomination, if not a win. It has been one of the biggest upsets of this decade. She made me cried, and I had cried over and over the short story the film is based on, but her performance added another layer to the story!
...and yet, Streep only has to BREATHE in a movie & she gets nominated. I'm sorry, but I actually think that Adams is better than Streep.
Yep what I wanted was for the Academy to at least recognize the craft she did on those two films. Would it be asking for too much if she at least got a nomination.

How is she underrated with 5 Oscar nominations. She was snubbed for “Arrival” and maybe “Big Eyes” and “Enchanted” (depending on your taste, since she was in the running) She also continues to get a lot of work and is respected and considered an A-List Actress by her peers and the Movie Industry. (i.e. Glenn Close has 6 Oscar Nominations)
Her new HBO mini-series, “Sharp Objects” should only add another great performance and more nominations to her resume.

Amy Adams is amazing in everything, but there is something about her performance in Arrival that is absolute magic. It's like you can feel what the character feels (massive credit to the director as well). You're joyful with her and hopeful with her and tragically shattered with her. The film, but mainly Amy in it, blows me away every time I watch it.

I hope she gets an Oscar soon. She deserves it. She can really act. She surprises me in almost every role she plays. She’s no “wing-it” girl when it comes to the roles she plays. The best kind of actor is the one who “lives” the character for a brief time in front of the camera, and makes the audience forget (at least for a little while) that it’s just an act. She not only reads her lines, but feels them. And it shows in the final results.
Been saying this. I feel like most A-list actors nowadays try so hard to take on oscar bait-y roles. There's no longer a need for actresses like Amy Adams who dissolve into the writing. It's sad!
I stumbled on to the movie called Junebug... and it’s one of those movies that never leave you. You can not fallin love with her. Her character, was the sweetest, most beguiling women ever! It’s little known,most likely found in the bargain bin, but do yourself a favor and buy it. You will never be the same!

I know Leap Year seems like fluff but she carries the movie almost singlehandedly. It’s worth a watch.

To say about Adam's role in American Hustle that "Adam more than holds her own" is a misleading understatement at best. Adams literally carries the movie beginning to end, with perhaps the exception of Jennifer Lawrence. These two female characters ARE the movie, and stay with you forever.

I liked them both equally but Muppets was more of my taste in terms of quality. Plus She nearly stole the show as Mary with both whimsy and surprising sophistication which I began to see in Amy from that time going forward.

I was revisiting the "Night at the Museum" movies as they're on Disney Plus, and one thing I had forgotten between now and the last time I watched the second movie is how Bloody Adorable Amy Adams is.
I probably watched Enchanted more than 10 times already! It's 2020 and I still can't believe Amy Adams doesn't have an Oscar yet.
When Enchanted came out is the time I became a big fan of Amy Adams. The carried that movie.
You can't leave out "Trouble with the Curve". Amy plays Mickey, Clint Eastwood's daughter.

Some of the movies mentioned I haven't seen yet, but will be soon. There are a few I liked her in but they aren't mentioned here. She was good in Leap Year and I really liked the way she played Amelia Earhart in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Like everyone else, I really think she deserves her Oscar now.
