When I played XCOM 2 for the first time, I played the base game and loved it. I had an amazing team of soldiers that I wrote biographies about, adding to the immersion. After I beat the campaign with my soldiers still alive, I bought the WOTC expansion and decided to bring the old veterans back, making up a plot as if the aliens came back years later for revenge and XCOM needed the old legends again once more (along with some newbies). I even made the crew look older in appearance, to make it seem as though time had passed. With this music playing, it felt so satisfying to see the old and the new generation together, to defend humanity once again. Such amazing memories... Easily one of my favourite games ever made. A masterpiece...

While i prefer the vanilla XCOM 2 loadout music, i love this one too. For me the first one would be perfect for every mission but i'd put this one for Chosen's missions and last missions. Just because this one has more tension in it.
this music might be why i never really bothered playing wotc. its a crime to replace xcom2's original squad loadout, and just puting more instruments isnt going to cut it.

Tbf with how the chosen are always a significant threat on higher difficultys i understand why they put this as permanent theme
