#WeekOneWednesday #BladeHQ #KnifeLife - Zábava
We had some technical difficulties at the beginning of the stream. Video starts best at 7:32. Thanks for tuning in👊!
Thanks !!! ✊👊
The Sebenza is the knife that once you have it in your pocket it is the hardest to cycle out, and is back in the pocket super quick.
If Tim had a beanie, it would look like Zac was interviewing himself haha.
Until you hold a Sebenza in your hand it’s hard to understand...once you do, you’ll immediately get it. I love mine.
Tim sounds like a really cool dude. I wish I could afford one of his knives.
I respect that they dial in one blade steel to what works best for them and stick with that.
Love this interview, I can relate to Tim on his young life. I was that brat at my family’s warehouse in my summer and any other days off of school. Spent LOTS of time sleeping under tables as well at trade shows and in the offices 🤣. Now my brother and I are getting set to take over whenever that time may come. Though Mom is still boss lady to the extreme!! Want to see more of Tim!! Great personality ✌🏼
This was a good interview with Tim. I didn't know much about him, but he seems like a good guy. Time and Anne have done a good job taking control of things. Chris sure had a specific personality and Tim hit on that here. No one will make then like Chris did... He hit the first bulls eye. Others may do as well, but none can do better! I have sold off about everything but my lefty 21's.
Best video I’ve watched from BHQ in a long time! I love all y’all’s videos, but this one was top notch! One day I’ll get a CRK... 👍
Thanks! We had a great time talking with Tim. We all have a CRK on the list as well😁.
I'll watch a whole series of interviews with knife makers in quarantine! Or knife guys like Advance Knife Bro.
Really enjoyed seeing how Tim was as a person . I had the great pleasure of having a chat with his father .Very different, but both are interesting people . I have a edc, a small sebenza , 8 years . Quality, one word sums it up.
Watching this video more than a year later after it happened, guys, it is hilarious! Really enjoyed the talk, thank you! Mine is old regular large made in 2007 (cgg crosshairs one) and I am really using it since then without any problems, even washers don't call for replacement yet. Awesome knife!
CRK respects the lefties so they'll be my first expensive knife no doubt.
i have a large inkosi LH and loving every minute of it.
you've got Benchmade and cold steel too though
@@cameronwilliams4149 that's true, I've been eyeballin that colossus from cold steel looks like a mutant kitchen knife.
I absolutely love my Small Sebenza 21 LH with Insingo in S35VN. I typically carry in the available CRK Leather Pouch with the pocket clip block off installed. But I admit...it only gets carried when I'm attending functions where a visible knife in pocket is less than desirable. They are brilliant knives Cash. Well worth the cost IMHO. My Daily is the ever popular Benchmade Mini Bugout in orange with the satin drop point in S30V. Awesome premium steel, nice deep pocket (reversible) pocket clip and very LH Friendly. Cheers! Zip~
At first I thought you meant the left, politics wise. Yeah they do a good job of making left hand models though.
Absolutely loved it guys, was a real joy to hear you pick Tims brain!
I have the small 21 Sebenza and just ordered the Micarta inlay 21 from Y’all on Monday!
Much love from New Mexico
I think the best thing that came out of this whole thing is that a person like you Zakk was recognised as a positive figure in the "knife world". CZcams gives us the opportunity or misfortune i should say,to come across some...not so positive individuals.because knife laws are very strict in Europe (especially Greece that i live in)the knife-owninf-carrying mentality is stronger.you will get arrested and prosecuted so "whats in our pocket" is a really big issue.so happy you open new horizons and possibilities for us!keep up the good work!
My first sebenza will be here today! Excited for it.
Coming back here after I have my all time grail in hand, a Large Sebenza 31 in S45VN!! This video is incredible.
This was great. I want a Sebenza and hearing you guys talk just makes me want one more now lol
Awesome video...thanks to you both for showing us who you really are!
One half of my phone is 1080hp and the other half is 144
Great video guys. Just reinforces why the Sebenza is EDC legend and still the benchmark for pocket knives. For years I assumed it had to be hype; Then I bought my first one. Those who own one understand. Of all the money I spent on knives, I've never regretted one penny spent on my CRKs. 👍🏻
I know I’m two years late but my large Sebenza 31 s45vn will be here on Tuesday. I’ve tried for years to get a CRK and was lucky enough to FINALLY get my hands on one of my most sought after “grail” knives.
How is it?
@iansharpe8420 I guess he got his grail then he died happy. Lol.
Oh no.. all the tech issues make the show even better lol... I think for so many of us having to work from home now, and face the technology monster, it feels great seeing the struggle of others... Like I am not alone in this tech war lol... I have about wanted to bonfire my computer too many times to count lately ! You guys are awesome!!
I’ve always wanted a sebenza, been at the top of my list for 5 years now but I feel like I need to wait for the S45VN version before I pull the trigger. A knife for a lifetime shouldn’t be anything less than perfect the day you buy it
I was in the same position, and finally have my S45VN Large Sebenza in hand!!
It may as well be 420hc since Chris lies about the Rockwell hardness.. 58 hrc s45vn isn't any better than 420hc at 58
i hope you waited for the magnacut version instead lmao
@@eskimojesus907 Wait is right I called CRK 10 days ago and they had 3 knives on hand (didn't say which model) and said if I ordered from them the backlog is 4-5 YEARS.! That was mid November 2023 and they suggested to look for a authorized dealer which would be a better option.
My 1986 Mark IV #73 pre "Made in South Africa" from before the Blackjack exported CRKs to the U.S. is special, knowing it was hand ground by Chris, and the coating applied by Tim's mom in their garage.
Have bough 2 CRK’s over the past few years as B’day gifts for myself. Have a small Sebenza 21 and a small Inkosi with the Insingo blade. Love them both, carrying the Inkosi now as an edc. Even fits in the small change/watch pocket of my jeans!
This was one of the best videos. Great job!
Great interview. Can't wait for S45VN small 31 with a tanto blade.
We are super excited too!
Love the new Sebenza 31, and I especially love that it’s a very incremental upgrade over the 21. The one thing that might have been a good idea, however, would have been to hold off a few months until S45 was ready, then launch the 31 as the first knife in S45. It might have helped to quiet some of the “its not enough of an upgrade” people.
Loved the Schenk knives shout out!! Beautiful work!!
My knife bucketlist
1. Crkt pilar
2. Ganzo fh13
3. Kizer domin mini
4. Spyderco tennacious
5. Buck stockman ( i don’t realy know what model
6. Svord droppoint hunter
7. Boker plus lockback o1BO25OB
8. Condor bushnecker
9. Gerber dime
10. Svord mini peasant
11. Svord ranger Bowie
Watching this, drinking bourbon, and playing with my new large Sebenza 31. Life is good
What kind of Bourbon?
This video was one of my favorites surprisingly
I really like it when knife companies don’t just shove their stuff down your throat, I find it really cool that Tim is able to say positive things and shout out other companies, gives me a lot of respect for him and his brand
I met Tim and his mom at the local Idaho Knife Association knife show (each August in Boise). Great people to talk to, and great supporters of this show. If you want a great smaller knife show without the craziness of Shot Show, come to Boise for this fun day. There are some great custom knife makers in Idaho. PS: the small Sebenza is almost always in my pocket.
We need more of these with him this was great
Great vid! I have a Sebenza 21 cf inlays. Tim seems like a pretty down to earth guy. Great content!
Great video! The 21 is my favorite, can’t wait to get the 31.
Loved this! Having a wife whose family is from SE Iowa and then us living in Boise for so long... the whole Iowa, Ohio, Idaho thread of this conversation had me cracking up! I actually do have a T-shirt that has University of Ohio, Idaho City, Iowa that just messes with people! I so need to get down to CRK shop and pick me up one of their knives!
Estwing 22oz framing hammer is all I’ll ever use for a framing, also use their ball peen. Same thing father used it so it just was handed down. Unfortunately someone stole my original but I went out and bought the same one. Although I will use a lot of snap on variants for my automotive stuff.
That sir is a great framing hammer! -Zac
I love estwing hammers. Easily the best do-anything hammer and affordable to boot. I’ll grab my stilettos for strictly pounding nails but I’ll never get rid of my estwings
Really enjoyed this video! Tim seems like a solid dude! Have my first CRK, an inkosi, on the way to me!
love it and cant wait to get my first sebenza!
BHQx2! (BladeHQquarantine) love it! Keep it up
That was good. I have a large sebenza. I’m saving for a small sebenza. I think the small is better for me for every day carry.
Small sebenza is the perfect be all end all edc knife.
@@anthonymendez1015 I agree, the small sebenza is the perfect edc. I have since sold the large sebenza but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Just admire them from a distance.
@@paramount10987 yea perfect ergos, perfect blade length under 3 to take anywhere, perfect ratios, blade shape, perfect size that fits right in the hand, and a strong ass lock
Zach and Tim you guys are awesome.
It was neat to watch this live
Tim reeve is really a chip off the old block, this was a grate u-tube chat fellas,i really enjoyed watching and thanks to both of you.
You guys should do a podcast where you talk about things like this. I would love to have that to listen to in the car, etc.
really enjoyable to watch as always. has anyone ever seen Tim Reeve and Justin Timberlake in the same room?
Interesting. 😎
I think quarantine has brought us something, Saturday sit-downs with zac, where zac just sits down and talks to different people in the industry, can be in the studio or through facetime
By pure coincidence, TODAY I pulled out of the mailbox a BHQ exclusive Large Sebenza 21 - CF inlays. Actually just posted an unboxing vid on my channel.
I have a large sebenza 21 and a large sebenza 31. I love them both!! I will always own both. I’m crushing on my large 31 it finally has broken in to that sebenza smoothness I am used to. I love Crk knives! I carry my L31 in my left pocket in the Crk slip and I rotate between my Koenig arius to my skiff drifter in my right pocket! That way I have the best of all worlds washers and bearings. I always carry my l 32 I love Chris Reeve knives!!
I mis-read the title as 'making a quality pocket knife with Tim Reeve at home' and thought bladehq is suggesting what to do
I really get where they are coming from. You set a standard of quality and know what works yet at the same time you need to improve. I'd rather stay with what works until I'm absolutely sure and improvement is made.
When did the Idaho Made get on the scales? I have a small sebenza with rosewood inlays that I bought directly from Chris Reeves and it doesn’t have the Idaho Made on it.
Been into knives for quite a while but just got to a point in my life where I can maybe afford a Sebenza.. good luck finding one in stock unless it's Ebay. Especially if you are looking for a particular style [large Sebenza 31 S45VN or Magna plain drop point w/ Gold accent hardware]- they are just not in stock [4 yr. waitlist], at least not since I have been looking for one. A beautiful and classic blade-it was great to hear these two just talk about knives for a while. cheers
Check out knifeworks and eknives. They both have a decent selection.
That’s my knife your holding at the beginning. Large 21 Insingo. Just bought it from y’all right now! This will be my second large Sabenza 21. Yes I have a problem.
Hey Tim This is my son logo and name...Im Phil from Folding_Knives. Man you ar doing a great job! From Maine planning on visiting the shop with my three boys which all 21's
What an epic video
So how long do I have to wait for Blade HQ to start selling Acta Non Verba knives? Because as far as I can tell there's no North American distributors and I don't like having to directly pay for shipping from Europe.
@TylerChilders Tim Reeve just gave you a shout out. If you're not already carrying a Chris Reeve knife then it sounds like it would be worth your while to contact them.
The large Sebenza is definitely my personal grail.
Awesome video should do one of these with Rick Hinderer!
I'll give Rick a call tomorrow👊 -Zac
@@BladeHQ you guys are awesome! 👊
The only time I have ever been mugged was in Johannesburg in the middle of the day, just down the street from the mall.
...I still miss that wristwatch.
Great off the cuff video! Large Sebenza 21 that gets abUsed daily!
Can we do one of these live streams with Tim Kenedy. That would be a fun one.
That would be epic. We'll see what we can do😎
That's a genius idea.
When will the Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 31 Knife Box Elder Burl be available on Blade HQ?
5/3/20
Pleasse get TIM back soon, the best of fun, thx
I’m waiting till it comes back in stock and getting one 100%
I have several CRKs. My favorite is my Damascus inlay large Sebenza
I have been hesitant to grab a Sebenza 31. I have wanted one for a long time and now I can afford one reasonably but I wasn't sure if the quality would suffer without Chris being around.
The warranty and the fact that they make maintaining your own knife so easy is super appealing to me. Watching this makes me feel much less weary of purchasing one. I am gonna keep an eye out now. Would be nice to snag s45vn but s35vn is a great steel and easy to maintain. Plus, they sell parts so if it really came down to it.. I could get a new blade.
I know a Sebenza won't be the last knife I buy but if I had to have a last knife to use every day, it would likely be a Sebenza, or a protech auto since they fire heard even filled with sand but, a little more difficult to work on than a Sebenza.
You won’t be disappointed, the micarta ones are nice but the quality is there.
@@juliansanchez249 I loved it so much I already bought a second one (Space Landing)
It's $1500 for a large in my country through a local retailer. By the time currency conversion and tax is added it adds up. So it'll be a grail knife for a long time to come.
I’m not a huge fan of frame locks. Are there any liner lock Chris Reeves knives?
oh my G-d, that leering Zac face is giving me day-mares.
How high are you?
I don't own a CRK but I agree in the warranty. If the company makes a mistake I let them handle it their way. If I completely mess up and jack up my knife I'll either ask to pay for what I broke in replacement parts or if I total it, I buy a new one.
Advance knive bro review are good and funny. I love his channel
This maybe a stupid question but is Tim related to Chris Reeves?
He is Chris’s son
Can you try to get the name of that Czech knife company I can’t either spell it right or can’t find them anywhere on the internet, thanks!
When is the We Miscreant going to be available again. I finally got my wife convinced
Thanks for that really loud Hi.
I love that Tim dressed a squirrel with his reeve, I dispatched a rat I shot with my inkosi.
I've got 2 Large Sebenza 21's one is a blade show special so it stays in the safe. the other is a tanto and it's slowly moving into work knife status
Only complaint I have is I can't find a CRK to buy.
Am I the only one who noticed Tim delicately whisper the F word when talking about how he prefers to only have one blade steel in stock?
When are we gonna get the mini kwaiken exclusives back in stock
sir please do a video on push dagger knife
How does one get involved with BLade HQ from here in central Texas
I've only ever bought one folding knife in my life, and never again. the guy who sold it to me told me that it would last for years, and never fail. A few weeks later, the scales came loose, and I had to literally break them off. The the clip that was supposed to keep it on my belt broke loose, and the knife got lost somewhere in Auckland suburbs. I've been given folders, but every time the blade has worked loose, rendering the knife completely useless. I stick to full tang knives now, and I've noticed that none has failed me yet!
Lol those were all shit then.
Yeah don't buy gas station knives. ⛽️. You get what you pay for.
“Buy it nice or pay it twice” is what I live by
I’m so sad they discontinued their chef knife, I was waiting to pick one up and then they discontinued it
Time to do one with Rick Hinderer !
Really enjoying these streams. Also, greetings from Lithuania! Don't worry, most of us don't know much about American geography either
Welcome!
My last comment I was rushing thought I didn't have any time. Once again I know I can say for my friends and myself and Kids (I gave all my boysl Sebs 21')...Ive watched you grow up and I can honestly say you are doing an outstanding job. BTW you and Bill Konig should defiantly do a collaboration a low profile flip or maybe a lee Williams kick stop flllpr. Keep up the great work I hope to see where u bring things in 20 yrs. I know your going to do great things..Folding_Knives on IG
👊
It's my grail right now. Closest I'll get to a Holt probably.
the best uk legal edc knifes ???
I've always wished the Pacific in a carbon steel or at least should there be new fixed blade designs down the line in carbon steel.
After this video I have to look at CRK now.
420k subs... Noice
Are they still making the sebenza 21?
100%
@@BladeHQ somebody posted on another video that just a couple weeks ago he was refused service by CRK on his 21 because they weren't in production anymore so they wouldn't honor the lifetime warranty on it. He said they emailed back and forth and he ended up paying $150 to have the lifetime warranty honored.
This stream made me realize my knife collection would be incomplete without a brand new, bright and shiny, oh so ergonomic para3 maxamet
Great chemistry between you two. Bff now? Lol
