Yes very interested in knowing monthly expenses. Thank you 😊
Thanks for the feedback. I actually really enjoy putting these types of videos together. So Im glad some people enjoy them! 🙏
I love these monthly videos. Would be fun if you could add in how many miles you walked and also the cities you visited.
that’s a great idea 💡
Super interesting! Thanks for sharing this information.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for taking the time to put this together and for sharing.
I really enjoy putting these type of vids together!
Very informative. The scenery is beautiful
It is such beautiful scenery up here!
I think I saw you playing that machine. So far for me, I have 4 free cruises and many more I could take if I didn’t have to work. I hope Princess keeps up this generosity.
they are definitely generous
I really enjoy these monthly recaps and hope you continue to do them when you are no longer cruising.
I will!
I appreciate seeing your expenses. Great content.
Thanks! 🙏
Long time viewer, your videos helped me plan my own year off in 2022. So I really appreciate the monthly expense videos, very informative! I'm back on the job now but would love to follow your plan of a year on cruise ships in the future. I had thought of booking a world cruise but after watching you this year I think booking individual cruises is the way to go now. Thanks for all you do!
Yeah, I think booking it yourself would save you money and give you the opportunity to experience different cruise lines and ships.
It's cheaper to cruise than rent an apartment in San Francisco! And the cruise includes a buffet!😮
2 Mac salad vs rice? Calories!😂
You should teach retirees how to cruise on social security.
haha way cheaper!!! yeah extra calories but extra yummy!!
I recently learned of your channel from Rob & Allie with Grounded Life Finances channel and I am so grateful they shared your info with their followers...I can already see that I'm going to really enjoy following you... thanks so much and continue enjoying yourself!🎉
Awww that is awesome! I usually mention them when I talk about health insurance…but I forgot to in this video!
Keep up the great informative videos Kevin, interesting to learn about your monthly expenses. It was nice to meet you and run into you on your morning walks during the Panama Canal cruise. I love Princess and have been cruising on casino offers, it’s been great. Enjoy Alaska!
Thanks, you too!
Yes! Please Keep up the monthly expense vides
Will do! I really enjoy making them!
New subbie here and enjoying your awesome channel! I love your honesty, providing those numbers.❤❤❤ I'm here from Allie & Rob's Grounded Life Finances channel.
🙏
Awesome, very valuable and easy to understand! Thank you!
🙏 Thanks, friend!
Thank you for this video !
My pleasure my friend!
As always, a helpful video! Thanks for the finance book recs, I have been slowly learning more so Future Tara can also have the la dulce vida. At the end of the cruising, I request a summary. Maybe a map showing all your routes linked together, highlights, lowlights. Looking forward to Asia content!
that sounds like a good idea
Awesome videos Kevin!! Love your monthly expense breakdowns! I am also retired Navy. Spent 22 years as a Navy Corpsman stationed mostly on the west coast and Japan. My wife and I will be fully retired in a couple of years and would love to follow your advice and travel full time. Thank you again and keep those videos coming!. -Moe
Thanks to you and your wife for watching! :)
Kevin I certainly don’t blame you for this but Princess changed the casino upgrades I didn’t get a new offer and I am done with Princess I’m going to try NCL. Thanks for your content good luck at the Dentist and I look forward to seeing more of your travels.
Ahh man, that sucks. Well sometimes it takes a while to start getting the emails. Fingers crossed you still get the email offers soon. Either way, Hopefully we bump into one another at sea again.
@thisismytruckinglife. In March on Sun Princess, I got just a casino $500 casino credit offer on the last day (no free cruise offer), but then started getting email offers a few weeks after the cruise. I’ve booked 2 more cruises this year with casino offers. I had $800 in casino charges, cashed out $200 to have cash on excursions and left with another $665 in winnings. Watch your emails (mine went to junk mail) for offers.
Thank you for service! My son is retired Military (Air Force) and I know it takes a lot of commitment. I appreciate your transparency and ParoDeeJay is one of my favorites to watch!
Thanks 🙏
Enjoy seeing the info on monthly expences
Thanks, Bobbie!
I love these expense videos! I know in one of your live streams you mentioned another podcast about building wealth. What was that? Now that winter number 5 is pretty much gone I need a good podcast for walking. Alaska looks stunning btw! Enjoy!
I really like ChooseFi Podcast.
I like the monthly expense breakdown videos!
Thanks! I enjoy putting them together.
@@30AndAWakeUp Lucky us! By the way, great video today and I love the backdrop of Alaska... Lucky you!
I started following you after your announcement for this adventure last year. You guessed that your cost for a year will be around $75 - $85 per cruising day at the time, when all is said and done. I think you are pretty close so far. Thank you much for sharing and showing it is possible.
no problem…had i not got the casino deals probably would have been around 100 but that’s still not to bad
I really enjoy these videos. It will be interesting to see how it changes when you stop cruising. I too enjoy your cruising videos =)
Thanks, I have fun making them. And I’ll still slip in a cruise here and there!
Great to see you up there!!
Great views this week! But getting cold!!!
@@30AndAWakeUp well your in Alaska you knew what’s coming. I took a great walking excursion in Skagway you might like in town called ghosts and good time girls a little dark but walk around town and very compelling. You can leave if it stinks!!!
Great to see you in Alaska - I visited there with Princess in 2022, and thought they executed an Alaskan cruise SO well!
You're finding some great deals! While spending last year living almost exclusively on ships, I couldn't believe the prices you could score if you were flexible with location and dates - some offers are pretty amazing if you're not overly bothered about where you're going!
Great video, as always!
Thanks Fraser! I hope you are doing well!
@@30AndAWakeUp All good here thanks - hope you're good too!
Thanks for being so transparent! It helps people make educated decisions and envision a different, more enjoyable life!
thanks Kimann!! 🙏
Thank you for your time and posting. I am visiting Vietnam in November for two to three months to see if I want to retire there. Your future input will be interesting... If you go there. Thanks again. Subscribed. I lived on Maui for four years. I miss poke and really fresh fish so much.
Very cool. I lived in Hanoi for a month back in 2019. Loved it!
Thanks for the book recommendation. I read his previous book a few years ago and it changed how I think about money and invest. Happy travels.
very cool!
Thank you brother for your videos and for your service for us and our country!
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and look forward to seeing more!
You are an inspirational, upstanding, righteous man, I am sure!
All of God's blessings to you, your family, all who you love,
And may every step in your life be clear, open,
and that you are protected and have favor with everyone you encounter.
Amen, and Amen!
Thank you! Really appreciate your comment.
Such a sweet gesture by Eleanor! Those of us who love our coffee know how important it is to have it just the way you like it. ❤️☕👍👍
yeah was really awesome
Such beautiful skies!
yes! 🙌
Happy Mother's Day!🌺🌺💐💐🤗And belated Cinco de Mayo, as well! Take care, and have fun!🤗🛳🌅
Thank you! 🤗
That is a gorgeous background!
Thanks! :) 🙏
I’m on my first Princess transatlantic thanks to your recommendation! I also bought Hoka shoes last month trying to prevent plantar fasciitis which Ive had twice requiring surgery. They are the most comfortable shoes ever! I think they are worth it 😊
awesome!!!! and yeah i really like these Hola
Next time you are in Juneau go have lunch at The Hanger, a fab restaurant right on the water. You watch the pontoon planes take off and land. And enjoy marvelous local fish dishes. Then visit Alaskan Knifeworks located in the same building. There is also a new coffee shop next door.
Welcome to Hoka-ville! I love mine! Hehehe, you used the grade school "divided by" sign to pro-rate some of the receipts. I hadn't seen that in forever!
haha yeah i’m old 😂
@@30AndAWakeUp 😄
I am sure going to miss your cruise adventures, however, I look forward to what's to come.
I’ll be throwing in some cruises! :)
I loved the Alaska cruise!! I did a really cool bear walk in Juneau!
That sounds cool!
I luv this costs vids.
Thanks! I enjoy doing them.
A true inspiration to us! We are going to hit the casino on Icon of the Seas in July. And we bought 100 CCL shares to get onboard credits with future cruises. Have two RCL shares now lol. Cheers!
That is awesome!
This is my plan as well.
Thank you so much for this content! Love your videos! I noticed you didn’t include any gambling expenses for April. Since you are receiving a casino rate for your cruises, I think it is worth mentioning how much you gambled during the month, and how much you won or lost.
I explained it at the end for the video. I dont gamble any of my own money. The only money I gamble is the free play they give me and whatever onboard credit I have left at the end of the cruise.
That’s awesome! So how did you do in April? How much free play and credit did you gamble with? Did you win anything?
Keep it up. Enjoy it very much.
ty 🙏
It’ll be such a shock for us viewers when you make the shift from cruising to SE Asia. I’ll be following along because I’ll be travelling full time next month and in SE Asia from November.
oh awesome!! where are you going?
@@30AndAWakeUp Want to hit Indonesia, Philippines and southern Thailand this time around. Maybe Cambodia. Loved Northern Thailand and Laos so wouldn't mind returning. Looking forward to hearing about your itinerary!
We got food pictures! 😊 Love it!
haha yes
Great video! Please consider taping a session at the casino. I think that would be very entertaining.
I really don’t spend much time in there. But if I get a lot of free play. I will :)
Just got a pair of Hoka's last month and LOVE them. Had 3 people recommend them before I bought them. You will like them for sure. Should hold up.
Yeah, I was resistant at first and like you, people kept recommending them. So far I LOVE THEM!
@30AndAWakeUp the cost made me resist but we're going on a 2 week med cruise in the fall so wanted a good pair of shoes that will last.
They are good but wear out fast.
@lauriesteinhauser8768 I've heard from runners they last longer than most shoes.
Really enjoyed this content! Though as someone with medical concerns, do you handle all of your medical needs prior to traveling? Or have you had any experience with medical tourism?
I do both. I’ll be getting a bunch of dental work done in thailand soon and then I’ll get a health exam in Malaysia. I’ll document them on my channel.
Wow! Looks like you are having some gorgeous weather in Alaska! Why will you be travelling in SE Asia next? Is it just cheaper than Europe or more interesting? Have you been everywhere else? Just curious.
I spent the last year in the US, Caribbean and Europe. So Im just ready to go back to Asia for a bit.
Alaska where you are, if you're willing to answer. 😉 I've had enough of cold weather, so I'll be fine not being there now, enjoy the scenery! Have fun in Thailand!
I’m in Skagway today!
@@30AndAWakeUp Oh nice! Will you be taking the train ride, or hiking any of the nearby trails? There was a hike I did straight up from town, and had a nice view of a mountain lake.
So you're saying that OBC is covering the ship gratuities? They usually run $16-20/day! Love to see these expense videos and hope you will continue them even when not cruising. Thanks! Very inspiring.
That is correct. It’s $16 a day on Princess.
Would love for the finance updates to continue, but I also can't help but think you are going to get weather whiplash going from Alaska to Thailand. Lol.
yeah! definitely going to be a shock to the system at first
I would love to do this, but I’m solo retired female and my kids worry about me being alone all that time. But it sure sounds cool.
i was Very nervous to cruise alone
...but my daughter n husband had a unexpected work conflict pop up at the last min and just did not want to miss our cruise soooo i went it was AN AWESOME EXPERIANCE😊 i felt SAFE and getting to make all the decisions ...when to eat, what shows to watch, how long to just chill out n read....was something i had never experianced in my life ....wow TOTAL RELAXTION. 🤗
There are lots of solo women onboard!
Can you tell us more about Astoria and the excursion and the Goonies museum? Did you stop in Seattle?
Honestly, it wasn’t that great, that’s why I didn’t really share. We didn’t stop in Seattle…we cruised past it to Victoria and Vancouver.
when i search any cruise for a solo traveler it’s seems to run $800+ for 5-7 days.
clearly i’m doing something wrong.
gonna have to do a rewatch on your vids
Use cruiseplum
These rates are on casino deals. Not rates you typically find.
@@TravelswithLlama check out my vid on how to find cheap cruises and you’ll see that you can find rates similar to this without casino deals
Any videos regarding your Cruise to Alaska? Off to Alaska at the end of the month..., did get an upgrade to a Stateroom with Balcony on the Lido Deck ( Deck 15 ) Ready to go...., for the 3rd time.
I didn’t get any upgrades, although I did bid for one!
Hi! Heard Rob and Ally give you a shout out. Very cool. I have been looking at Hokas for my Hawaii trip too. What island is L&L? Starting to put together my Hawaiian itinerary. 😊
L&L is on every island. It’s a chain!
@30AndAWakeUp ohhh didn't know that. Where is the shrimp scampi place?
@@andreagold9471 on the north shore near Haleiwa Town
I would love to try this. I’m curious how much free play and onboard credit you gambled with during the month? Slots only or did you play table games? Did you keep any winnings or gambled until it was all gone? Thanks again for sharing your experience!
I never keep winnings. total onboard credit and free play gambled is probably about 100 a cruise
Love the math work. How did you have it follow the writing?
i have an apple pencil that works with the ipad final cut pro app to speed it up or slow it down.. that’s my bad handwriting
I'm going on my first Casino comped cruise in 15 days! On Norwegian. Will see how it goes.
Very cool. I really like the NCL experience.
Are you taking NCL spirit transpacific Vancouver to Tokyo via Alaska next week? If so see you there brother, thanks for the info.
I wish! What an awesome cruise that will be!
I own several Hoka shoes. I also walk a lot. Recently I had to change my gait so that my foot would fall more on the front. If you have super comfy shoes like Hoka they can encourage you to let the rear of your foot and this can cause back pain (as it had for me). So Hoka's are great, but they need to be worn with attention to your gait. The softness can encourage poor gait. Check out the phyio's Brad and Ben or Ben and Brad - that's my source!
Good stuff. Thanks for that info. And I watch Ben and Brad all the time!
@@30AndAWakeUp me too - so many subscribers and yet such a daggy (Australian word) set! They know their stuff.
Can you please put the name of the app you use for spending I like the format Thks
So that layout is in Apple Numbers. It’s a pre formatted sheet you can use.
I'm curious. I have been looking on going on an Alaskan cruise myself and I noticed the prices were much cheaper if I cruised in particular months. So I have been wondering. Have you noticed a trend where certain regions are cheaper to cruise in certain times of the year? Doesn't have to be US based, just anywhere.
yeah, there are always high and low seasons. For Alaska it’s cheaper before the kids get out of school and when they go back. Also cheaper in the colder early months.
So you are done with Cruising and off to a better Clinate.., lucky you!..
haha..yes
Well, I guess we are on the same inflated restaurant costs. I can go to the Breckenridge Brewery and drop $75 on two burgers and two bees, tax and tip for my wife and I. Yes! Please do a monthly cost for your next trip to Asia.
Will do!
Glad you replaced the shoes!
they were ragged
@@30AndAWakeUp Well hey, I was picturing you walking all that in flip flops, so sketchers were probably still better than flip flops after all that. 🤣
Keep doing the budget please
Will do!
Hey ..., did you make it in one piece to your new Destination??
I did! Still jet lagged but here!
If I book Princess cruises now, and then I buy the shares, can I retroactively apply the shareholder benefit?
I think so. I did that but it was a while ago. They use an app now called Stockperks to verify ownership and apply credit. I think as long as you own the stock & can prove it in Stockperks before the sailing…you’re good to go.
Gratuities? $17x2x7=$238/week. How do you avoid the $238/week gratuities? As a single cruiser, I’ve been charged for the absent second passenger in my room.
it’s 16 a day on princess and as mentioned I use the generous onboard credit Princess gives to pay for it. i only pay gratuities for me. they don’t charge for 2 for solos on princess
Can we have a cabin tour please?
ok
Where do you go next in May forward?
I’ll be country hopping in Southeast Asia
I read somewhere that you don't get these casino credits if you sail from Australia?
hmmm…not sure
That’s interesting. We just returned from a circumnavigation of Australia on the Coral Princess 1 month ago and haven’t received any offers yet. I used to get them regularly but the offers weren’t great. No free cruises only discounts. Now nothing and it’s puzzling. I might add that the casino was always practically empty until the end of the cruise. I’m keeping my 🤞
Which is a better life? Cruise Life or Van Life? Thx
I like them both!
If you own cruise stock shares, how do you get credit on your cruise. What do you need to show to prove that you own shares
there is an app called stockperks that most cruise lines use now
@@30AndAWakeUp my cruise shares are with a brokerage account in a bank. I can’t use that?
How did you get your Hoka delivered to the cruise ship?
I bought them at the mall in Honolulu ☺️
Do you play table games or only slots?
just slots
How are you paying 54 for homeowners insurance? My policy is 4800 annually
i own a small inexpensive house in Missouri and I have USAA which i’ve had forever and it’s always been inexpensive for me
Maybe you have already discussed this. Internet on ships is pretty expensive. How do you pay for this?
I think he gets a fair bit of onboard credit, which helps offset that.
i am elite on princess so it’s half price and i use onboard credit to pay for it
I’m on Princess now for 15 days first time. I decided to buy just 1 day for $30 as we will be at a port in 3 days and thereafter about every other day where I can use free WiFi on land. When I get to Europe I will use Airaflo esim for 30 days for $17.
I will be going on a Princess cruise in a month. I know you use carnival shares to get onboard credit. I have 100 shares of carnival stock. How do I get the credit with my shares?
Use the app called stockperks to get your shares verified and the credit applied
Just FAX them a copy of a recent ownership list, with a covering letter.
@@cruisecrazy7066 Thank you!
How much do you have to lose in the casino to get a casino deal?
ive lost 50 bucks of my own money
FYI - with your Asia travels coming up thought I’d pass on info - watched a report on Thailand & how people are leaving due to Russian arrivals & their hostile behavior. Hope this helps. I won’t be returning to Thailand anytime soon.
Appreciate that feedback but I’ll be in Bangkok the whole time Im there. And Russians tend to like the beach front places like Pattaya. Plus I am an early riser and don’t really go to bars or nightclubs where you run into that kind of hostile behavior. So not super worried about it. :)
Understand - yes, they’re mostly partying in Phuket. Anyway, good luck & stay safe!
Is it hard to find back to back cruises so you're not homeless for a day.
it’s pretty easy.. i just use cruise plum to plan
Are you not tipping the cruise staff?
As mentioned, I pay gratuities with onboard credit which is allowed on Princess. I also take a percentage of that OBC and give to my cabin steward.
LOL, I have over $500 a month just on credit card and debt interest payments. The fact that you stayed out of debt in your life is one of the keys to how you are able to live like this, so congrats!
Not always but in 2003 I found Dave Ramsey and that helped push me towards getting rid of that debt.
The poutine in Canada is the best around I am glad you were able to grab some while you were here. Did you find your creamer in Vancouver?
haha…no I got it in the US!
Please keep up the monthly expenses
Will do!
With all due respect… I used to look forward to seeing your videos, THEN you changed to “your monthly expenses are/were”… I have no interest in this information, so hope to hear more like before…
thanks for the feedback
Humana is the BEST insurance for veterans hands down...I'm a licensed insurance producer and that's my go-to for my vet clients!! Thanks for the book recommendation Kevin and happy crusing! Glad you are going back east and safe travels.
yeah i really like Humana 😊
I enjoy your cost of living/traveling videos but feel as if I'm invading your privacy. Thanks for being so open with us.
awww well i still keep some things private 🙏
