My honest review to the 30mm starter bollie complete:
The starter Bollie setup was to be honest not that great when I come back to fingerboarding a month ago, the trucks already broke after 3 days (same issue like on the smaller tech deck trucks, one of the axis pins come loose) and the wheels kind of died just a week later…
The trucks are very awful and the wheels are really just a small step up to tech deck wheels, the bearing pockets are nearly not existing so the back of the wheels broke, next to that the bearings sliping around even on first day and they are just pretty cheap Plastik with no effort into it, they still kind of run but wouldn’t ride it anymore, now they are on a pure cosmetic tech deck setup with no other use anymore…
Don’t get me wrong, when I compare that to a 25mm tech deck from 1998 (and even with everything till today from tech deck) it’s a very big improvement but when I compare it to the more modern Produkts like the ASI complete 2.0 (20€) and the 3.0 (25€) it’s not really on the same level (32 and 34mm, single axis trucks and on 3.0 seems even hardened, still plastic wheels but with way better build quality and even the foam tape is quit better)…
And to be fair, even the stuck 32mm tech deck stuff hold up better as the bollie trucks, I replaced them in first step with Tech deck trucks cause needed one order more to find very nice inexpensive trucks…
So the best to say about is that the deck is pretty nice, the pop is quit nice, the shape is good, quality seems to be good as well and even the graved in graphic is completely ok and nice work…
Would 30mm not be a bit too small for me I think I would still ride it and even if not anymore I will keep it for sure just to compare it with other boards cause it’s still completely fine even after 3 very hard coming back weeks…
In the end I be still thankfully for the board cause it brings me really back to fingerboarding but just 3 weeks later I am now on a ASI shop deck 32mm (with the blackriver uncommon pleasure holo sticker 😜), blackriver trucks (they are pure perfection) and still switching between couple sets of wheels (ill pills street, kraken street, kraken conical, kraken bowl, spitboards swirl, spitboards urethane and tuned asi shop wheels) which is all together sure somewhat more pricy then the bollie complete…
But my secondary EDC dry and wet setups are quit more on this level with 32mm tech deck deck (wet) and 32mm asi shop deck (dry), 32mm asi shop trucks 3.0 with beta bushings (weight more but performs nearly like brt‘s with the betas) and still switching wheels…
The wheels are highly depending on what I do, but mostly I use spitboards swirl, spitboards urethanes and asi shop wheels tuned with a very soft rubber coating (tuned be my self) cause they cheap and it’s not too bad when they will be gone outside, so both setups are damn cheap with surly under 40€ but perform on a pretty high level for this pricetag, that’s for sure more then for the bollie but it’s anytime worth it cause that are all parts that will last for more then just a week of pretty hard times when coming back…
And with that we come to my results, the Bollie completes are ok to make first steps but have so much room for improvements, at least put single axis trucks and at least better shaped wheels to it, that didn’t change that much in price (maybe 5-10€ more) but brings so much more quality and performance to this setup that I could finally recommend it to others but without that changes I would go with other stuff like the asi completes or maybe the bullgod completes too when they really will ship to Germany for free (haven’t tried it till now but maybe I will next month)…
So it’s an ok, cheap setup but if you ask me, still a bit to expensive for what you get so please make it cheaper (at least 5€) or put longer lasting parts on it (then it’s even ok when it cost 10€ more) but for what it is now you just got better stuff for this pricetag and i‘am not even talking about cheap china knock offs, just parts you can easily get by order on trustful stores…
And before someone say that the asi shop trucks 3.0 are brt knock offs, they just not, for sure they share some design features but not more like on dynamic or y trucks, the base is a bit like brt (Indy’s) and the hangar a bit like dynamics (venture trucks) but in the end they are still different and more then enough to see them as own trucks cause the quality is noticeable better as on the more common china trucks (like the 2.0 asi shop trucks) and I have multiple of both plus a set of brt’s to compare…

Do the single bollie decks come with a uncut pice of riptape or a pre-cut piece?

Aina tullu valmiiksi leikattuna. Mutta mä edelleen haluaisin rullata bollie dekillä, jos niitä vaan sais 33mm tai 34mm.
