When you look at the average American knowledge of geography and history
It is a barometer on the
Voting process and system that will ensue
The stress of the pandemic revealed the worst of so many people, and now that the pandemic is behind us that same characters stayed in that times.
Yes, this is true in many ways
Inflation also rose, and then stayed up in the form of corporate profiteering. Humans are loss averse, biased in favor of their own person, and have poor statistical intuitions. The result of our resource consumption game is a sort of expectation ratcheting that makes us become more and more self-oriented, defensive.
We accept increases in comfort easily enough, but ask a person to make even the smallest sacrifice to luxury, and it's endless whining about 'these tough economic times'; meanwhile, during this period of the most excessive consumption the world has ever known, we keep drawing the ever-increasing demands of our subsistence from a finite resource supply. Let's hear no evil whenever it comes to population concerns, though. Blame policy shortcomings, instead.
Is the "worst" of us really being revealed, or are we just getting to see the first glimmer of what a forced reduction to living standard is going to look like? The stress hasn't even begun yet-wait until the high-priced electricity and water shortages start.
@@pocket83squaredBingo! We can't build (RO) water recycling plants until water prices cover the costs. We can do it by other means, but I am referring to municipalities
Truth is becoming more elusive and there is less consensus on what it is.
Thank you Sam 😊
when/why did they change the subscription option from monthly to yearly?
I understand the final criticism, but let us weigh that against the fact that most politicians and bureaucrats responsible for the lockdowns have accepted no culpability for their actions.
the lockdowns were totally acceptable and reasonable though. chances are the content creators you follow believe actually schizophrenic things about covid, vaccines and the like.
@@todoz11 "We need everyone to get vaccinated in order to achieve herd immunity."

Thanks for not buckling under pressure about the Israel war ❤❤❤
The interviewee sounds like a calm Joe Rogan
Honestly what most journalists have a problem with is not seeing the forest because of the trees. The size of yhe population has grown enourmously and people move around more. Just look at the he growth of public transportation, the hotels, airbnb's etc. The younger generation have destination weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties overseas just for starters. Meanwhile they want to discuss travel and lockdowns etc. Just too much mixed messaging so you can make an argument about anything without being wrong or right. I do appreciate yhe fact that Sam tries to be a voice and thinker of sanity and reason. But everyone who is public has a hidden agenda. There is a real trust problem with every form of messaging.
Journalists think they have better critical thinking skills and mathematics skills than physical scientists. 😂. Journalists are the epitome of the Dunning-Kruger effect! 😂
Journalists are well known for spreading misinformation because they actually suck at statistics.
I don’t know what your message entails
In Western Europe we endulged in books with fantasy and science fiction
You are portraying an affluent middle class perspective
Destination weddings ?
What percentage of our population have these?
It’s not fkn Hollywood
Another example of slightly rich stupid people with an iq barely reaching 100
@@aroemaliuged4776 My message is that there is an information overload so we have a lot of confusing arguments and counter arguments out there which do not align with reality. I also think journalists easily get trapped in their own information bubble.
Talking about alternative media and pandemic. You know why I haven't been vaccinated?
I had doubts. I made questions. Quite normal, right? Instead of a dialogue and answers I got censorship and an imposition that I should be vaccinated, wear that mask even on the beach and any question about it on CZcams, Facebook, Twitter was severely "discouraged".
I happen to have a degree on environment, I know what a virus is. And I know how beneficial the beach would be. A very windy salt saturated place where the UV rays would be stronger since the sand reflects it? Not to mention the boost it gives your health and immunity? Well... I couldn't tell anything about it. I was called denialist, genocidal, murderer. So... I decided to take care of myself the way I know best and I literally rather die than be forced to do something. Guess what. I haven't been infected. I could have helped with things I know, but I was censored by the "alternative media", who wasn't alternative at all....
I would like some examples of these new intellectuals and their ideas due to the presence of social media. In my book, the only thing that matters is the consensus of the experts in any given area. Joe Rogan is no such person, despite his large following. "I did my own research" is a phrase uttered by man different people spanning the range of demonstrated intelligence...with erroneous conclusions.
i absolutely hate when native english speakers use the phrase _"you know"_ in a conversation, this is usually used by non-native speakers to gain some time to figure out how to continue the sentence
I swear I thought this was Joe Rogan talking at first.
Hey you don't agree with my take on this specific topic, so now you've lost credibility on any other possible topic that exists! I'm PIST and I can't handle people disagreeing with me. 🤬
You should avoid sharp objects
yeah genocide denial tends to damage one's credibility. Imagine that
@@Giantcrabz i lost count to genocides against Palestinians in my lifetime.

@@GiantcrabzLosing doesn't mean someone is innocent. You are skewing actual history per usual. They were attacking Jews in 635 CE, and even in 1834, they were hurting Jews long before any so-called Zionist movement. Don't start with some Canaanite nonsense or an appeal to the children.
Where were you when Yemenite, Nigerian, and Ukrainian children were being killed? You only care when it's the West versus some melanin "minority". You're a hypocrite.
No one cares when it's Arab on Arab, black on black, or white on white violence. People on care when it's pale on melanin violence. No one ever cares when it's melanin on pale violence. You are the ones who are definitely making it about race even if you don't agree with my assessment. Your actions and behavior show your intentions. I didn't see any protests for the Nigerian Christian children.
This isn't a genocide. It's called a war and Hamas will be destroyed. Hamas doesn't have better ideas than Israel.
WoW 500 views in an hour!
I used to think western society was transforming from a free range farm in to an industrial battery farm. Now I think it's transforming in to a mushroom farm. 😢
what's wrong with mushrooms? Fungi are cool as hell
First. 😮
yep! still ridiculous. sam harris is a big joke. none of you are "intellectuals".
I think you’ll find that should be ‘is a big joke’. And you haven’t even bothered to use a capital letter at the beginning of any of your sentences for pity’s sake. Considering Sam spoke for next to none of this clip dislocates your argument on its own even if the woeful grammar didn’t already do that.
@@MattRungEcologist I edited my comment. youre right about that. I don't capitalise at times and I left it that way. I didn't mean to offend you personally.
I did mean to comment on sam harris. he lost much credibility thhese past few years for me and I find him to be less than a joke. I think he is actually a clown. I don't think that about you. I don't knopw you and I've never heard you speak in public. if you agree with sam 100% of the time then I would say you should think for yourself. sam is a fake intellectual and not very smart.
I hope my comment doesn't offend you. I alos hope you can find a way to not let comments on the internet make you lash out at others.

He lost it during covid.
It was lost long before that.

Why weren't you all protesting for Yemenite, Nigerian, and Ukrainian children? Because those situations don't involve pale people versus melanin people. Your biases are obvious
Nah, you lost all credibility when you denied basic history. They are not innocent of anything
