About Youngsang Cho
Youngsang Cho is Organic Farmer. Cho learned Natural Farming from his father Hankyu Cho(Korea Natural Farming, KNF) who advocated environmental agriculture since the 1960s. Cho family has been organic farming for the third generation. Cho served in 706 special forces and graduated from Aju University (Bachelor, Chemistry) and Chungnam National Uni (Master, Horticulture). Cho has entered the Ph.D. course from the Department of Agricultural Biology at Chonbuk National University. Cho started organic agriculture in 1989. Through decades of practice and research, he created a new Ultra-Low-Cost organic agriculture system based on his father's farming and Asian traditional farming. He founded “JADAM” in 1991. In 2022, JADAM's membership exceeded 80,000.

Please explain how surface application works?. How roots access this surface compost.
I do not use mulching paper. Can I still do compost surface application?
Very educative, now need to get my hands dirty, practice some. Just so I do not re invent the wheel, how high can you say your ridges are, and what is the space in between ridges?

Thank you for this video. I would like to ask if I still need need to put compost in between planting periods?
It is usually added before planting, but can also be used during growing season. Be careful, if you put it too close to the crop, the crop may die.

im having a hard time finding 6 foot pipes with 1 inch diameter. Can I use electrical metallic tubing that is 3/4 (19.05mm) diameter? As long as it's steel?

Mulch allows you to zero your weed removal efforts.

Can JMS be applied up to 10 times before planting or will it be too much?
if it's a really bad soil, is what u should do. you can plant some nitrogen fixing plants too to let them workin the soil for you.
Do you have any info or jadam method to replace chemical fertilizers effectiveness..
You can use organic compost.

If the soil is very hard, it may be necessary to till the first crop. And you use JMS often, and you don't till the next planting.
In potted plants, should we also irrigate the water 4 times before planting?
i think you should prepare a big amount of soil, inoculate with your jms, and then divide in pots. but during the life of the plant you should water them sometimes with jms too
I would not prepare soil with jms then disturb or mix it.

The plastic should be aerated otherwise its not good.
Black nylon heats up very quicky and very hot in the sun. Jadam suggests using "landscape fabric" which is a weave that lets heat out and water in, it prevents over heating in summer

Hi,
I tried the above but something is not working right for me.
I'm growing leafy greens and specifically Corchorus olitorius

Every night there are May beetles (Phyllophaga) on the leaves and have destroyed most of it.
I tried the recipe of 800ml JWA + 60g caustic soda per 20L soft water basis. In addition I got some Oleander leaves and boiled and used 800ml per 20L as well.
I tried this recipe three times now and the beetles escape when they are sprayed but they keep coming back the next night.
I live in Egypt in a hot dry climate.
I use sprinkler irrigation everyday at noon.
What am I doing that's not right? Why are the beetles keep coming back?

I use landscape fabric.
If you cannot use the fabric, then use green manure and cover crop methods between your crops. Not only good for harvesting nitrogen and maintaining biomass, but stuff like hairy vetch suppresses weeds. Leave no soil uncovered :^)
