Ranking EVERY Ore in Minecraft

- One of the most important aspects about Minecraft is of course the mining, I mean it takes up half the name. For the most part, you’ll be mining for ores, and as of 1.21 there are 11 different ores the player can find. This includes Iron, Gold, Diamond, Coal, Lapis, Redstone, Emeralds, Quartz, Netherite, Amethyst, and Copper. However, with so many ores, some were bound to be worse than others. So today I’m going to be ranking all minecraft ores from the worst to the best.

Idk ores are harder to argue as iron and redstone are so supreme in crafting.
I feel like everything on this list is pretty reasonable to be honest. Iron is in my opinion the third most important resource in the entire game, behind wood and food.
I got an idea: ranking every redstone machine(pistons, observers, droppers, etc),it would be a really fun idea!

My personal list (from the POV of a builder in bedrock edition)
1. Iron -along with emeralds, this has the most uses ever, from hoppers to observers to anvils, all of which are super useful in all parts of the game
2. Emeralds -so versatile, useful, and can be farmed so easily
3. Redstone - Do i even need to tell you why?
4. Quartz - before you start hating on me, just remember that I'm a builder an this is my favorite way of getting andesite and quartz blocks (one of they only ore blocks designated for building besides copper and one of the only pure smooth white blocks) also observers, which are amazing in tree farms, which i always build when i start a world
5. Gold -This is the way to get andesite using quartz, as previously mentioned. I play on bedrock edition where piglin bartering farms are ridiculously overpowered additionally, i like using this for beacons because emerald farms are not as powerful as they are in java edition. These previous four are the only ores that are always very useful, no matter what stage of the game you're in
6. Netherite -Has one use, netherite armor, but it's really good (don't even mention lodestones if u craft those things u are a menace to society)
7. Diamonds -I love Jukeboxes :)
8. Copper - Though this is technically the same as quartz, i agree with odyssey, quartz is just way better
9. Coal - Good source of fuel, can be farmed easily, good early game. that's all
10. Amethyst -Bad, but i love how wattles used the blocks in his wizard tower. also calibrated skulk sensors are good for traps (i know im so evil)
11. Lapis - Useless late game Useless mid game Near useless early game

I’m recreating the original World Trade Center Plaza in survival specifically buildings 1 & 2, and I’ve decided to use the two towers to display every single block in Minecraft. I just obtained deepslate emerald ore which if you didn’t know is the rarest ore in the game, I also already have a Netherite Block and for budding amethyst I just placed a sign with budding amethyst on it because it’s unobtainable in survival.
I thought deepslate coal was the rarest due to how coal really doesn't like to spawn low enough to reach deepslate?
@@LloydTheZephyrian Emeralds only spawn in Mountain Biomes and coal can show up anywhere. Also coal veins are much larger so it’s not too uncommon for coal veins to start above deepslate levels and then bleed into it.
Just be careful with the elytra.
Would it be possible to get a budding block up there with pistons? Would be a massive pain but if they can be moved, it’s theoretically possible

loved the video i would really like if you would do a ranking of all biomes including:caves, nether and end biomes
A minor critical comment; the video is titled ranking every ORE but you've rather ranked every corresponding material instead. I think ranking ORES would be very different.
Diamond ore was (until the introduction of smithing templates) sort of obsolete as it was (and is) much easier to buy diamond gear from villagers. Until the villager rebalances the enchanting table was also not as relevant as at earlier stages of Minecraft development (as the more controllable way to get enchants is via books). I would actually place diamonds below coal. You only really need a few (to make netherite upgrade templates, whatever) and by late game when this is relevant you have a ton from loot chests anyway, never really requiring you to do dedicated diamond mining runs.
Emerald ORE is useless as it's horribly impractical to get emeralds this way. So much that obtaining an actual emerald ore block is usually a notable achievement in a run.
About netherite, you forgot to mention how ancient debris and netherite block are the only blast-proof but piston-movable blocks. This makes ancient debris essential for some tunnel bore designs and whatnot. (Interesting that netherite has this weird niche industrial use.)
Gold and iron ores (though the materials they represent are super useful, especially iron) become impractical to get these materials. Iron and gold farms are not very difficult to set up past midgame.
Yeah lapis is really bad.
fun fact, a friend of mine out of pure spite, due to someone stealing the only netherite pick he has, when the whole server barely started netherite gathering, he decided to just mine out just about every ancient debris in a 10k x 10k block radius centered at the nether 0,0, he then made two maxed netherite beacons at his base to flex on everyone else, dude lost it

Mining quartz ore blocks is also a decent way to get levels, giving the third most exp of all the ore blocks, behind diamond and emerald, but it is significantly more common then either of them. You can get a lot of levels quite easily this way, assuming you can avoid dying in the nether.

W quartz placement. Also, it seems like there aren’t many more tier lists you can do for this game. You should rank every crafting recipe, and then every single block. 100% agree. Diamond is the most iconic ore and Redstone is probably the most flashy, but Iron is the backbone of the entire game and it only gets better as time goes on
An idea for another ranking video is to rank all the armour trims
I love the sly Water Bucket clutch joke you made whilst in the iron category.
Imo diamonds is higher than netherite. While netherite makes better armour and tools, you NEED diamonds in order to use them. You cant make netherite tools without diamonds. So diamonds should be more useful, and they also can make the enchantment table
I think it might be fun to do “Level By Level” videos on the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe cups you haven’t done yet. You did all of the DLC, plus the Lightning and Star cups, but I think it might be interesting if you covered the other ones in more detail. For iron, it's wort pointing out just how useful iron golems are. They're incredibly powerful, a group of them can beat an entire raid, or even the warden, and they're also used as bait in disc farms and wither cages. You can even heal them with ingots.

Oddssey center i love your minecraft vid keep it up
Can’t wait for this the inevitable weapon/tool tier list (don’t forget shears)
TLDR version: Diamonds should be higher than netherite
There are a lot of things that I find wrong with this ranking, but the main thing coming to my mind RN is the fact that netherite is higher than diamonds. You literally need diamonds to make netherite tools and armor, so by default netherite stuff should add points to both diamonds and netherite. So diamonds have more uses than netherite, and in my opinion, it's more useful in general. Like, would you rather play without netherite or diamonds? With no netherite, your tools and armor are slightly worse. With no diamond: you have to stick with iron armor and tools, no obsidian, no enchanting, etc, etc. Honestly, like half the game gets removed without diamonds, and not much is gone if you remove netherite except netherite itself. Sorry about the rant but yeah.
No, no pig torture device, Bob can’t die
Missed opportunity on putting a meme on 9:54 , it honestly felt like the equivalent of the memes where when someone says "one piece", a random image of Luffy slowly appears
That's hilarious
i wish minecraft had momentum with minecarts, like going down a large slope of powered rails and then a single powered rail sloped upwards sends you flying
I love this totally unbiased ranking
Honestly coal late game is worse than lapis, if you have max brightness and a decent monitor you don’t need torches and dried kelp blocks are *WAY TOO UNDERRATED FOR SMELTING* easy to farm and smelts so many items.
The quartz ore is really useful during mining in the nether as u can use the quartz ore to repair ur tools and continue mining instead of going back to the overworld to fix the tools .
You have some obsession with saying mario in each video
So, make a video entirely on a mario game, but don't say mario even once
The fact that he was wrong about saying that ancient debris is the rarest ore in Minecraft is just crazy
babe wake up
new odyssey central video dropped
If I made a list it would probably be very similar to this one, only changes I would make is put quartz next to copper (either above or below since those two are so similar in usage and where on is weaker in one aspect the other is stronger) and move netherite just directly below diamond since it it technically has less usages then diamond and the game never makes combat difficult enough were its essential to have netherite gear
14:20
umm 🤓🤓👆👆actually , lodestones are very useful if you are like zoro and are always getting lost. i personally use them to locate my house my nether portal location portal and one in the end portal. they also give compasses another use.
sooo.. in your future 'ranking all minecraft items'(please make one such video at 300k.) you should put it higher.
also really love your channel as you are making contents on my most favourite 2 games mc and the mario games. keep it up.
I love emerald, it's has a beautiful color, i also have a place for them because everytime i go on phantom mode i always manage to find that one emerald ore at the very bottom
Suggestions:
Ranking every automatic mob farm
Ranking every biome
My list is
Iron: Needed for everything
Emerald: You can get full diamond with it easily+ easy to get
Lapis: Enchanting
Netherite: It's netherite
Diamond: Would be higher, but emeralds can buy you everything.
Gold: See iron.
Coal: smelting
Quartz: EXP
Redstone: not good at making Redstone contraptions.
Amethyst: Pretty
Copper: Pretty... useless
I think that ancient debris should be a really rare trade from piglins, like 0.25% from each barter, and be craftable into the netherite upgrade, probably with blackstone at the sides of the table, two iron at the top amd bottom middle and diamond in the middle
Diamonds could become a drop from a hard to farm, powerful mob like... maybe the illusioner? It's blue and could also drop lapis if they want, and would only spawn in mansions, giving them a new use. Obviously as a pillager, it would pathfind to villagers.
diamonds and netherite are intentionally not renewable, otherwise they'd lose their value. i think it should stay that way
rank different types of anvils next
I'd have to put emeralds above diamonds since you can buy diamond armor, as well as a few other items that are very difficult to get otherwise like nametags, xp bottles, mending books, and woodland mansion maps (good for totems). Not the mention once you set villagers up it's very easy to farm emeralds with sticks, clay, various crops, or even build a raid farm if you're fancy. Emeralds are one of the best and most versatile minerals if you ask me because of all the items you can buy.
I haven't even watched the full video but the warden screen transition is S tier
Up until watching this video, I had no idea that you could breed allays
really good list tbh, i would only switch diamond and ancient debris with eachother, seeing how you need diamonds to even be able to mine ancient debris, and without diamonds the netherite is pretty much useless
Oi! What's the problem with granite? Yes, I went out of my way to get it. Several times. Why? I need it.
In the middle ages, people used granite for walls. So, when deciding material which I'll use to secure my land, I landed on granite. And with evolution of my imperium, I started to need much more granite.
Hate diorite? It's white color makes it (in my eyes) perfect for towers. I like to build tall, so I need also a lot of diorite.
Andesite? Cores of my building. Staircases, elevators… Build using this.
You see…I know it's popular to hate on these 3. But take inspiration from me. I took something „useless“ and found an usage for it. And life is great.
*Smaradgs. You say it wrong.
I don't use coal as a fuel. That's what lava buckets are from. And nether has a lot of lava. And I have a lot of things to smelt.
