- Solo Wild Camping on the Moors | A Ghostly Encounter (** Warning- scary parts **)
Join me for a solo wild camp on the very scary moors. This one focuses more on the experiences of wild camping rather than the tangible things we use to go - it does not matter what your budget is, you should still be able to get out and enjoy it. The moorland takes on a very scary feeling when it gets dark and I share my most scary wild camping experience with you all. The darkness is disturbed by an eerie noise which starts to encircle my tent - but what is it ? Watch all the way to find out!

Who is that person at :41 second mark when you jump the gate?
Stick to the rrroad lads. Stay clear of the moors! Beware the full moon!!!
As a Canadian and avid camper I've heard many scary sounds here in our dense and seemingly endless woods at night. The grunting of a bear just outside my tent, the howling of a nearby pack of wolves, wild cats screaming, moose crashing through the woods, but the most ungodly sound of all is when you hear your first sasquatch. Yes, they're real and the sound is indescribable
Sounds hideous - thanks for sharing Thom
Sasquatch don't exist, they are not real in the slightest. There's near extinct animals who avoid all human contact at all cost and we can find sightings of them and traces of them, bones etc. Not one Sasquatch dead or alive has ever been found or filmed. And in this day and age with so many cameras if they did exist we would at the very least have photos, videos and bones of dead ones. The one and only half convincing video of a "Sasquatch" is from the 70's where people claim it looks too real to be a human in a suit. I beg to differ, the 70's was a very different time where it was very easy to kill a large ape, preserve its fur and create a very real looking suit a human could wear as it was all real fur and skin, not to mention the camera quality was so grainy back then it would mask any imperfections. Nowadays that wouldn't be allowed and surprise surprise every single apparent Sasquatch video is easily spotted as nonsense, a man in a synthetic suit. Sasquatch is a myth, like the loch Ness monster and the like. Stories which have been passed down generations and are nothing more than tall tales. We literally have traces of animals which have been dead for thousands of years yet not a single Sasquatch.
@@MCMOutdoors you know what else sounds terrifying in the woods at night? Foxes lol edit! And a dying rabbit screaming!
@@MCMOutdoors I do believe in bigfoot though... Skunk ape... I've been here in Florida my entire life. Nothing else knocked over skinny tall saplings that are close to each other enough so they both are bent and broken towards eachother to leave them crossing eachother like an "X" there's some things animals just don't do... Well not animals that we see in textbooks at least.
Sasquatch is definitely real .
"Steer clear of the moors, stay on the road, oops."
😂showing your age a bit.😂
It's a long time since I heard it 😅
Good luck 🍀
Well thats my solo wild camping hobby f****d!
Balls to seeing dark figures on remote hill summits! . Let me put it this way.... If it was me that night on Shining Tor.. there would be no need for the farmer to spread fertiliser on the land for the next five years! In fact it would have to be re-named "Shite-ing Tor"... Cheers mate for another good un you scary git 👍🏼
Hahahaha, just spat my beer out reading that - hilarious mate, ATB 🤣👍
hahahahaha
😂😂😂😂
That sound you heard was a snipe 'drumming'- it's the males mating display/call. Although it's not really a call at all because it's actually made by the vibrations of its tail feathers against the air as it dips and dives. Hear them all the time here in west of Ireland.
Thanks for this, last night I heard the exact same noise, only a lot closer, reminded me of this video. Knew it was some kind of animal.
Thanks, I knew it was a mating call I heard before but couldn't place it.
This is what camping is all about , scary tales and then lying in your tent jumping at every strange noise 😁👍🏻🏕
Absolutely mate - amazing isn't it. Thanks for watching!
My wife & I have had too many paranormal encounter's to enjoy camping, & we used to love it. Then we learned face to face some monsters are real.
What did you see
@@leighjordine4031 We came within arms reach, of a 7 ft. shadowman. In broad daylight, using a cornfield to travel i guess discretely..
@@EyeoftheFox so do you still camp or has it put you off completely. I'm not sure what I would do in that situation. I was once walking home through some fields I was drunk I admit but I had this feeling I was being watched. Turned out to be some horses that I bumped into to my relief. I am glad it wasn't a 7ft shadow figure though😂
@@leighjordine4031 We weren't intoxicated in any way. We actually were making a quick run for OS cranberry juice & egg's. On our return home is when it crossed our path.
@@EyeoftheFox it's all in your imagination, when encountered with unknown shapes and sounds your mind fills in the blanks and most people jump to conclusions. Every time I've seen or heard something and thought what the hell is that, I go investigate night or day, rain or shine and every single time, it's nothing to be afraid of. When people start camping especially alone they mistake animals moving around for human footsteps, animals like foxes for screaming ladies in the woods. Once you know what it is it doesn't bother you in the slightest, my biggest worry when out solo camping in the middle of nowhere is humans. People can do bad things to you, nothing else will. We are by far the most concerning thing on this planet in my opinion.
Dropped my phone on my face when you shouted "Oi" 😂 nice one. 👍
Got to be on your toes here - ATB Josh
I've had that experience of 'Total Silence' a few years back in the Peak District. We were hiking and found a smallish woodland to put the hammocks up for the night.
I suddenly woke up in my hammock during the night. It was weird as I went from total sleep to 100% awake, alert and feeling very scared in an instant. I was confused what was going on and thought perhaps an animal disturbed me or perhaps my friend who was also hammocking. So I listened out to see if I could hear anything. It was really weird though. There was no sound, nothing. Normally you might hear a gentle breeze, rodents moving about or distant traffic. I laid there terrified and in pitch black darkness. Too afraid to put my head torch on and too afraid to move. It wasn't just quiet though, the air had an atmosphere like something was there, or something was about to happen. It's quite hard to describe unless you've experienced it.
I figured that i'm not getting out of the hammock to investigate, the only choice I have is to go back to sleep and try not to move or make a sound. And this is what I did.
At the time, I had no idea this might be considered 'paranormal'. I'm glad I didn't get out the hammock and go investigate.
Sounds scary Leigh and thanks for sharing mate!
I know what you mean. I used to experience it in a very old villlage where I rented a thatched cottage. Not all nights, but some nights a darker, quieter stillness would be ever so present. It was different. I got used to it. Was the ‘in between’ time i think. I grew to even sort of like it.
Thank you for a great episode! ❤️ I am so happy to have come across you! I’ve only been camping alone once… and it was a very scary experience after I woke up in my tent to it shaking uncontrollably. I felt as if I would have blown away had it not been for my air mattress, somehow. It would shake nonstop with me holding the zipper for 20 minutes or so, and then stop….and then start again I was very scared and felt as if it wasn’t the wind. It wasn’t an animal. I really don’t know what it was to this day. I was saying the Lord’s Prayer over and over again. Finally, around 5 a.m. I got brave and unzipped my tent to run to my car. There was an eerie feeling, an unnatural calm and a warm orange glow…. I slept in my car until morning 😬 This was in Estes Park, Colorado… I’m not sure if I can camp alone again. I enjoyed this video because I felt as if I was with you and your furry friend having a beer and watching the sunset. Thank you again! Much Love. Jonna in Colorado, U.S.
No worries Jonna - thank you very much for watching and glad you enjoyed this spooky camp! ATB - Chris
I have been woken by my tent shaking in the early hours, freaky. I barked "what do you want" and it stopped.
I just camped solo for the first time couple of weeks ago, and it was a great experience. I went to Loch Long in Scotland and camped in Glen Loin (looking for Robert the Bruce caves)
@@pmac2597 Oh my Gosh that sounds amazing! I bet it was beautiful. Did you find the caves? I don’t know if I can camp alone again after all of the scary camping stories and National Park Mysteries with the Missing 411 people everywhere…. 😬😫 I for sure would be terrified after dark. It’s weird how I never was scared before and camped all across the USA and never had anything happen to me or worry me too much 😂 … but now I know too much.. I’d have to go with a friend at least! We’re you nervous at all? Did you see any pixies? ⭐️
@@jonnasweeney405 I was ok at first then during the night woke up and couldn't get back to sleep thinking about all the bigfoot stories on s chronicles haha scared myself
The stillness and silence you felt outside the tent at 2 am was probably what Jenny Randles calls 'The Oz Factor' which is supposedly a shift in reality immediately preceding paranormal activity. The Peak District and the Pennine areas are riddled with UFO and High Strangeness and have been for centuries. Mick Mclaren of WHIT covers weird happenings around Winter Hill and West Pennine areas. Paul Sinclair covers similar freaky stuff on the East Yorkshire coast and inland areas. You should try Todmorden Moor and Saddleworth Moor, both 'Hot Zones' of eerie stuff. Thanks for this.
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
You should definitely try this to test and see if it is that same feeling etc some proof or maybe clarification for you help if ever happened again and maybe help knowing something similar could happen
Oh myself and my daughter went hiking up winter hill the other week.
She also goes wild camping but I'm not that brave.
Bought her some new hiking boots though...😊
You love the same things I love Chris, and very much for the same reasons.
You are a man after my own heart Chris. You understand what a miracle life is. . and how human we feel again, when we reconnect with nature.
Good on you.
Was planning on doing my first wild camp this week and that story has put me right off😂😂😂👍
Haha, get yourself out there (dark Spectres and all 😱) 👍⛰️⛺
@@MCMOutdoors solo mmmmmm don’t think so I’d go crazy and psycho bro I won’t be the same for rest of my life
Pack a gun, or some bear spray and take advantage of all the world has to offer my friend, the good, the bad, the spooky 👻 it's all for good tales and memories in the end, that's the 🔑
@@brandonr9541 no 😂 that's the story of me ending up in the Looney bin of I did that alone. I'm the one camping that just sits up in the tent all night long while everyone's sleeping. I'm not even afraid of any animals or anything I've been in the outdoors my entire southern life! But my mind just goes when I'm the only person still awake in a text camping I can't imagine what I'd do alone! My nephew goes camping alone... With his dog I should say and he loves it. I just wouldn't want to do it.
We once had a pet Kestrel. It was obsessed with 80's electronic music. If you played any, it would fly around the house erratically. It once managed to smash the light bulb but carried on flying round in the pitch black. I asked my dad "how does it know where it's going?". He replied "our kestrel manoeuvres in the dark!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🍻
I've just got to the spooky bit. That freaked me out! I fully expected something to start hammering on your flysheet ala Blair Witch at any second!
Apparently it was a Snipe "drumming" - bricked it I did
@@MCMOutdoors don't blame you Chris! I'd have been the same. At least you now know, for next time 👍
A bit of light entertainment that made me 'owl with laughter.
Had a similar experience on a wild camp near boulsworth, my dog would not settle at all and it was really cold so the tent was zipped up. Went out for a wee and it was the same fog!! I thought I heard dogs barking at one point and went out again but couldn’t see anything! Could hear all sorts of sounds laid there!!! Neither of us slept at all so packed up and walked back to the car at first light and fell asleep on the sofa when I got home!!
Gospel truth that mate - was a terrifying experience - never had anything like it before.
@@MCMOutdoors same and I won’t go back and camp there ever again! Never had anything like it since either
Don't blame you mate - see you on the next vid!
@@MCMOutdoors ok... I was under the impression that this video was just a joke... The noises at least is what I mean... Was this real? I'm sure you know what the sounds were of you've been in that area a lot? I don't know what the moores is I'm a Florida native... USA... Please inform me 😊 new sub!
@joan We visited Rothbury on an anniversary of Raol Moats death ☠️, we had the dog with us and she was very susceptible to things like that, wouldn’t go down the Black Path where somebody had been murdered , her hackles went up and she refused to budge . But this day the way she put back her head and howled at Rothbury was more than eerie .
That’s a very scary experience you had! Glad to hear that no harm came to you. Thank you for sharing your story.
No worries, thanks for watching 👍
Oh yes, I love a scary story. Crumbs don’t think I would have slept after that though. I remember watching the shining torr video but might watch it again now. Great wild camp and nice to just get out, sit and chill for a bit. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers Chris 👍
I love spooky tales too - I'm sure you haven't noticed 🤣 true that though mate - only time I've ever felt like that camping. ATB Joe
Loved the tales from the tent - i was in stitches when that noise started up mate - was either a snipe or a woodcock one of the weirdest noises when you first hear them , we have a lot up this end lol, another great vlog 👌👍
Snipe 'drumming' mate - weirdest noise ever. Least I know it wasn't the beast of the moors - or was it. ATB pal
Nice film Chris, great tales of the unexplained, had me hanging in on every word. Some strange things out there. Cheers Mike.
Thanks Mike, genuine tale that too - very chilling experience at the time too. Lots of ghostly goings on out there mate - ATB
I'm not kidding, I was absolutely bricking it watching that! I'm off to watch the shining tor one now.. . I've been walking up there a few times, but not at night... Never will either after your story. Great vid as always, cheers Chris.
No worries mate, genuine story that too - was a horrible experience - absolutely awful. ATB pal
Just caught this video! Thank you for making me spit coffee out my nose!😂 Here's one for ya that happened back in the mid 1980's. My friend's grandparents owned a beach house that abutted an old civil war Fort in Alabama. Supposedly this place was haunted with soldiers from that era. 6 of us decided to go camping close to the Fort. We set up 2 tents both 4 man, had a nice little fire pit, and were enjoying ourselves. The game warden checked on us, to make sure we were not on the Forts property, but other than that, didn't bother us. As it got darker, we decided it was time to break out the Laser Tag gear and go to the Fort and have a few rounds. We were there maybe 2 hours, when I went down one of the tunnels into a armory bunker, another player entered from the other side, it's pitch black, but we could see each others little red flashing light on the target piece, and were "shooting" trying to score. Out of the corner of the room came a soft voice, two words: 'Leave, NOW!" We snapped on our lights and were shining all over, in the far corner for a brief second, stood a soldier in Confederate Uniform, and he just faded out. Both of hauled butt out of there and did not stop until we got to the edge of the fence line. I'll be honest, my pants were cold because I wet myself, so did my friend. We noticed more flashing red lights bobbing towards, and they did not stop, but said RUN, which we did back to the tents. Halfway back to the tents, we came to a stop when we spotted three men standing between us and the tents. When we called out, they dropped to the ground behind some Sea Oats. When we got to the spot, there was no one there. Footprints, yes, people, no. We didn't sleep much, but kept the fire blazing. In the morning, we stopped the game warden, and told him of the three men, (but not about going to the Fort). We showed him the spot, and the footprints. As we were talking, (the warden was skeptical, thinking we were drinking), a very cold wind came up, and it was like shifted into three little tempests, above the footprints, and faded out. A year later I was reading the local newspaper, there was an article about a discovery of three Confederate Soldiers, who's remains were discovered buried in unmarked graves, in the same spot we seen the three men standing.
Thanks very much for sharing that detailed account with us - sounds terrifying! ATB
Ive Seen a 💯 legit video of a shadow bastard running through that place, seen 4 grown men literally run screaming, i have no doubt fresh undies were in order for all of them. Scary af that place
Haha, what's a shadow bastardo?
@@MCMOutdoors its a shadow man. Sorry, been watching too much Casper Sight . lol
Great story, been thinking about it since, gives me goosebumps. Anyone who read Alan Garner's books as a kid will know the name Shining Tor. The Dark Peak has loads of weird stories and folklore. Old dark gods still linger up in them hills.
A great book - thanks for watching James
Good God Chris! I’d have never gone solo wild camping again. Great tale from the tent. And for all those on their own….woooooooooo
Thanks Alan, yeah it was a bit of a horrible experience to be fair! Thanks for watching mate
Love it when you camp at haunted locations. Very very interesting. The opening soundtrack. Love it.
Great stuff, thank you for watching - love a spooky camp and scary tale 👀
😬😨. Flippin eck Chris. Nearly gave us a heart attack 😀
🤣 Thanks for watching guys
Great video, loved the spooky story, i always rattle a wee valium in me before i sleep on wild camp, myt need to up my dose after that story haha, very intriging and wel put together chris, another excellent camp, edit and production. wel done :)
No problem! Excellent sleep routine there! I always have rubbish tent sleeps, especially if there are dark figures haunting the trig area. ATB pal
No way I could do a scary tale whilst out wild camping. I put those thoughts to the very back of my mind, if I allowed myself to think about them, i would have zero chance of relaxing and getting some kip.
Thanks Chris was going out camping tomorrow now i am not!! Might be selling some gear
Haha, just adopt a Haggis and you'll be fine mate
Very good! However, I will never go camping alone again. We were building our lake house in South Dakota USA and my parents were in a small trailer while my two older brothers camped in a tarp under the picnic table. I liked being in he tall prairie grass. The wind always blew up there, and one night I woke up and moonlight was shining through the thin tent. I heard something walking slowly in the grass nearby and thought it was my brothers. When I looked out, I could see them curled up in their tarp, and the steps got closer to my back. I went totally silent until whatever it was seemed to be right on top of me. I bolted out of the test and ran inside the trailer, which could barely hold three people. I told my mother what had happened and she said she knew she had heard something over the wind. Dad grabbed a shotgun and went outside. He came back and told us to go to sleep. Nothing was there. The next day, my tent had been stuffed under the trailer and the grass was crushed all around the camp site. I'll never sleep alone in a tent again.
Spooky tale there indeed and thanks for sharing!
I've only had 1 experience like this. From the mist to the dead silence the hairs on my neck stood up . I take my dog with me at the time he was 3yr . A male staff fearless...he went bat shit mate . His ackles was up his teeth was out he went mad . I couldn't see anything but could feel it . Still to to this day it makes me feel sick to my stomach . Now up until this I've never believed in ghosts but mate that night freaked me out . If my dog could sense it I no I wasn't scaring my self with my own imagination... I had a look into it and the woods we was in were used from the early Roman times . Fuck nos lad freaked me out
Thanks for sharing mate - sounds pretty bad!
Always trust the dog. Always. You did the right thing for sure.
I had exactly the same experience with my dog he’s a lab never goes off like that to any animal and again whatever was there wasn’t visible to me but was to him . I was at Bolehill wood in Derbyshire. It really did bother me and I had same experience about 2 weeks later . I think it is like in US Sasquatch and they never get caught because they are supernatural and have got powers we cannot comprehend, I admit they are more prominent in US due to the size of there forests .I have now sort of come to that conclusion my dog stopped and looked up like whatever was there was stood directly in front ohm but… was tall … now it was middle winter and area I was in had no trees for 20 odd yards . They are out there it’s really no joke when you experience this .
F hell that made me jump - haha. Enjoyed every minute Chris. You are so right about the reset, away from the crowds I enjoy my solitude in the peace and quiet.
Haha, thanks for watching Michaela....... can't beat the peace and quiet away from the crowds! ATB, Chris
Great story from the dark, but I wasn't worried for you as you has your little mate with you.
A few weeks ago I was photographing some wild mushrooms I'd accidentally found at a place I visit regularly it was around 4pm the light was dropping fast there was a errie stillness all of a sudden the wind whipped up leaves were falling all around I decided to leave quickly and head back to the car which was a 10 minute walk thing was there was absolutely no one around.
Sounds ominous!
Great video mate , years ago a few of us used to wild camp but life took over as it does , being 63 I'm back to doing it .
Superb to hear you're back out doing it! Happy Halloween pal 🦇
I agree with you about connecting with the great outdoors; it’s priceless.
Sure is, thanks for watching

Great vid buddy. Iv had that feeling once before when wild camping. A total feeling of dread. I never saw anything but I was scared and on edge .
Spooky mate, never good situations when solo - ATB, Chris
As you know Chris I spend lots of time at this spot. Iv heard lots of weird stuff up there and even on one occasion footsteps at 2 in't morning goin past my tent 😲. Funny thing is I never feel scared on't Moors i feel more peace than anything. I dont drink so it wasn't the booze. Who knows ehh ? There is lots of ghostly tales around this area so keep that in mind folks when the mist begins to fall 👻😳
A very spooky area mate! 👀
Love the tent tales especially a good scary one!
Got to be done mate, thanks for watching
Great video, was up there three weeks ago with my better half, but walked the other way on a circular walk up towards a cerain tower across the moors from the carpark, sat on that bench near the gate cooked a meal had a brew just chilled and took in the views across the Valley, towards the masts, brilliant day out, i did think about camping there next time.its a "im on top of the world place"
Sounds idyllic Derek - always great to hear other people enjoying the outdoors. Thanks for watching & ATB
Looked a peaceful place to camp and I'm with you on being a light sleeper and at 03.25 when that first bird starts singing, that's me wide awake. Macclesfield does sound a very scary place mind and I always have a empty plastic bottle with me when I camp, so much easier to roll over, have a pee, roll back and (hopefully) back to sleep, plus the fact, you would not see any dark silhouettes either👻. It is funny mind how a millimetre of fabric can make you feel safe and good to see you had Walshey in the tent with you on this one😂. Cheers Alan
Hahahaha! Just as hairy mate! Thanks for watching - genuine experience that on Shining Tor - ATB pal

You’re turning into Tom Hanks with ‘Wilson’..., yes I’ve had similar unearthly feeling that something was just‘wrong’, on Glastonbury tor in 1982 after midnight camping, me and a mate both felt like the air stopped dead.. and an overwhelming feeling of stress came over us both at same moment then a mad-cackling laugh shrieking out of the dark ( which didn’t sound like anyone/thing, we knew)..we got up and ran like f#*k through barbed wires and brambles for about a mile before stopping , looked at each other and said..WTF just happened, wouldn’t go back for tent till daylight and didn’t sleep anyway...Didn’t let it put me off though.. still wild camping, ( and nothing like that since)!! and I don’t do ghosts or any paranormal bollox, but the way we both got it exactly the same time was just weird......( mind you , we should have expected some weird shit in Glastonbury area spose )....Now I’ll have to go and watch a Disney film to lighten me mood back again.
Haha, it feels like it sometimes! That's one scary story that mate - great to hear it! Keep enjoying the outdoors 👍

Camped in that spot many times, I sit on the stone bench with a j...and watch the sunset (weather permitting) the place certainly has a weird vibe to it, and interestingly its the only place where my dog would not settle all night even growling once or twice. He usually sleeps like a log. I haven't taken him the last few times I've been there.
Definitely has an eerie feel to it at times 👍

I just came over to watch this after you recommended it on your "Wind Storm Camping in the MSR Tindheim 2 Tent With 40mph+ Gusts" video. Well worth it too! That was really spooky. It can be spooky at times! Thanks for sharing.
Great story Chris. If it isn’t some foul smelling lycanthrope nipping at your heels it’s something from beyond the grave. I’ll take your word for it since you stated it was a true experience, however, you need to swear that the mist you were seeing wasn’t smoke from the joint you were partaking of. Best to you Chris. I always enjoy your videos.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 The odd beer is enough for me Marion 🤣 it was definitely true - a hideous spectre of the moors! Thanks for watching 😊👍
Great video mate 😂 I had my first solo night in the scottish bothy last weekend, just before I fell asleep I thought that I heard somebody knocked the doors, I asked if someone was there but nobody answered, so I jumped out of my sleeping bag and immediately went outside with my headtorch to check, nobody was there so I went back to sleep. I could not sit there and just listen for noises like you did... scary 😨

Kuba
Spooky mate - but I do enjoy a ghostly tale! Thanks for watching 👍
Lol 😂 you had me going, love watching angry Haggis, I can associate with scary moments in my tent in Scotland
The Haggis will make a few more regular appearances now mate, thanks for watching
Nice video Chris, jesus christ, that clip just before morning sh*t me up 😂🤣 go steady mate
Haha, mate I was bricking it when that thing started making the noise - esp when I shouted and it didn't scare it off! Wished I had a 12 gauge at the time - thanks for watching 🍻👍
@@MCMOutdoors 🤣😂
I live in the Highlands of Scotland and years ago I was driving home from a meal at night, and I seen a black mist slowly cross the road, from a derelict building on the left hand side of the road to the field on the right. I never seen a silhouette but got that deep terrifying feeling like it was evil. So yeah know what you mean mate 😁.
Sounds hideous mate! Thanks for sharing your spooky tale!
Probably Jimmy Saville , they had to knock that Scottish place down - resident evil
@@Anita-gp1gv Come to think of it, i do remember a faint smell of cigar smoke at the time, and what looked to be a ripped pair of tracksuit bottoms caught on the barbwire fence....
Tension was building then Yikes. Good one Chris .
Cheers for watching Rob - can't beat a spooky encounter! ATB
Yea that would probly freak me out too . Great story and a great camping adventure.
Dwayne
I recently did a camp in a clearing in the middle of a Scottish forest. I was up till 1am with a campfire, I did hear a few noises and wondered what it was but I had to tell my brain…….”don’t go there otherwise you will freak yourself out!” It was all good, only thing that attacked me was the midges 😂
Haha, the mind can certainly play tricks!
aye - I am more scared of midges than any other bigger beasties
It’s not solo wild camping when the angry haggis is with you! His split second early appearance made me laugh 😂
I’m officially too scared to wild camp after this 😂🙀
The hideous creature of the moors was making some weird sounds that night! The Haggis is crap company and always ends up getting pissed and storming off anyway 😒😁
@@MCMOutdoors Haha some guard dog! I don’t know how you got any sleep knowing there was something out there 👀 👻
Chris I’m late to this one sorry but hospital comes first for rehab and your videos have to be watched in 4K on the Big Screen👍
This one was as always Awesome Viewing but seeing the Anomaly has had me Climbing into my Loft to put my Tents and camping gear away until confirmation of the UFO
(with the F in UFO being a Swear Word🙈) looks like I’m sticking to the Roads for walking from now on and even avoiding my local park on my 3am walks in the dark😂
Kudos to you for not Packing up and getting out of there👍🥾⛺️🚶♂️
Cheers Neil - hope you're well as you can be mate - get dosed up on pain killers and real ale! Watch loads of outdoor vids....... was a very spooky time mate. ATB, Chris
I know this isn’t wild camping story but I had a ufo experience in my own home it’s something I’ll never forget and have since been looking into other experiences of ufo encounters to see if anyone experienced what happened to me that night. This world is full of unexplained things that’s for sure
It absolutely is 👍
Brilliant Video mate. Really had me hooked with the wild camping tale. I was up Shining Tor just the other night, stood on the trig point.
Sounds like you may have encountered one of those Shadow people or even a Slenderman. Interesting and very scary when completely alone i imagine. 😱
Cheers Dan, a genuinely very scary experience!
@@MCMOutdoors I can imagine! What a story though. The hill in the distance was Shutlingsloe by the way. Great place too. This area is full of leylines and energies.
Slenderman Is a creepy pasta... Not real never has even been slightly considered real by anyone over the age of nine. Shadow people exist. But not Slenderman. And that sound was a snipe "drumming"... This is the general consensus.
As soon as you started talking about that past creepy camping experience not long after that noise started.....man you have balls! I'd be long gone haha
Genuine account that mate!
I don’t even jump easy but that got me! Well played hahahaha 😂😂🤣 x
Haha, thanks for watching 🏕️😱
Yo!!! I need more than a couple beers after that creepy story and strange sounds outside the your tent AND THE CRAZY SHOCK SCARE!!!! Thanks for that… Eff that.
Hi!!! Love your vids :) so glad I stumbled across your channel.
Any tips for a Colorado girl who camps solo ALL the time? I’m hoping to start documenting my own adventures soon.
I’m either backpacking, roof top tent camping or even RV camping (when I’m glamping and taking the dirt bikes out)
Would love to hear back from ya
Cheers from ‘MERCA lol
Thanks for watching and glad to hear you enjoyed the video! As for tips, just get out there and enjoy yourself - that's the main thing, anything else is a bonus - enjoy!
Where was the angry haggis in your hour of need Chris? Nowhere to be seen! When Dracula himself is out on the moors you're going to need some real backup! On a more serious note, I couldn't agree with you more about the importance of the outdoors in our lives. There is something about being alone with your thoughts in the stillness of a wild place, it really puts everything in perspective, and is wonderful for the soul. Technology is amazing in many ways, but there is the danger of becoming it's slave and in the process disconnected from the very things that make us human. Anyway, enough rambling! Love the videos and keep up the good work mate.
He's useless as a guard Haggis mate, always pissed. Yes - there is a bit of a disconnect with nature in this modern life - for many people at least, I will always maintain the link though. ATB, Chris
Sounds like the Hatman / Slenderman / shadowman you saw. I thought the haggis was gonna make an appearance right at the end bursting through your tent or summit lol 😂 Blimey this must be an all time waffle record on one of your vids 🤣
Haha, yes a bit of a talking one this mate - like to mix it up a bit when I can 👍
Great video, there is nothing like being at one with nature, great views and peace, beats city living anyday.
Certainly does mate - thanks for watching!
Was gonna go to bed after watching this video. Going to have to wait a while. Great story and great video.
Sleep with an axe mate, just in case, 😱😂😉 thanks for watching Liam
I am 8 months pregnant and you almost put me into labour! Lol. I couldn't hear the noises from outside of your tent properly so I put my face and ear right up to the phone just as that image and growl popped up. Thanks! Lol
Ooops - sorry if I've helped you along a bit! Thanks for watching and good luck with the birth :)
I’m impressed mate. I didn’t think you could tame haggis.
Tamed ish - he's still out of control!
Lol, I’m getting a kick out of your little friend! Love your humor. I love watching and seeing the beautiful scenery. I’m from the US. This gives me a chance to travel with you and your adventures.
Thanks Sonja - ATB
Great upload, nice scenery and footage.
Thanks Tom 👍
Dude..I shat a brick at the end man. That was funny. Loved the story though and glad to see you don't leave anything lying around. When I wild camp, I have the opinion of leave it as you found it.
Yes mate, always leave no trace. Thanks for watching 👍
@@MCMOutdoors no problem. Thanks for the scare, that was awesome!
Very interesting story. I wonder if other campers have experienced the same thing ?
A few have mate - see comments. ATB
Loved the video m8. That story creeped the hell out of me!!
Gospel truth mate - one of the most chilling times I've ever experienced on a camp.
@@MCMOutdoors I got chills listening. I’ve never slept on a solo camp not once. My mind won’t let me!🙃
You'll crack it mate - ATB
Wowsers...I nearly dropped my beer! 😡😡🤪 ....Top job as always👍👍 Cheers Chris! T🙂
Thanks for watching - here's hoping the beast doesn't pay us a visit on our camp!
Great video Chris. I will be shitting myself next time I go out on a solo camp thinking about slender man and what was that noise? It sounded like some kind of alien checking you out. Scary stuff, Thanks Chris loved it 👊
Great stuff Andy, was the hideous beast of the moors..... It was a Snipe and it was "drumming"
Scared the hell out of me god damn 😂 Looks like a lovely spot there!
What tent is this by the way? Look quite spacious
Abisko Lite 1 mate, sold some gear and had some very kind people help me out so I could get it, unfortunately it's faulty 🙄
When that sound gurururur or so came
I rememebr much earlier you came across sheeps .
:D
Loved the video and the story! If it were me in that situation I'd be back in my tent spare tent peg in hand ready for whatever might try that zip. Got goosebumps haha
Haha, cheers for watching Stu!
I absolutely jumped out my skin when you put that horrid face on the screen! Proper gave me the heebie jeebies! Another excellent film Chris. Keep the ghosty ones coming , I love them 👍
The hideous creature of the moors! 👍 Thank you for watching Keren
Me too !!!
Me too😂 Was perfect timing too as I had my face about 5 inches from the screen while trying to hear whatever was outside his tent! Anyone know what that was btw??
It's a bird called a 'Snipe'...... It was doing something called 'drumming' which is basically diving in the air and it's feathers vibrate and make that weird sound...... Spooky at the time!
@@MCMOutdoors Thanks for letting me know! Never even heard of them but wondered if it was bird related.. I have a Blue Crown Conure who loves to freak me out late at night w/a maniacal witch cackle he taught himself 🤣
That jump scare you put in legit made me squeal lol. Great vlog night time animals and birds always sound weird so don't think that was anything sinister. Nice peaceful location. Know what you mean when you need that escape and solitude.
Haha, thanks for watching
