I'm glad you found it helpful. Yes, I accompanied him into the Canada office because they needed to see me and view my own documents.
For the ETA, I'm not sure about that.

For the border we went to, they attended to us at about 8:30-9pm.. but I heard some places don't attend to people from 7pm. However, the border is usually opened 24hours
