Its hard to believe that it was 3 years ago we were discussing the takeover of First's Bolton depot to Diamond Bus and what it would bring...and my goodness they have done well! In this video I take a trip across their network from Bury to the Trafford Centre via Bolton reviewing their operation, vehicles, branding and services provided to see just how much has improved.

More coyboys than in the wild west 🤣🤣
Jokes aside, I agree that while StreetDecks are generally disliked, having the fleet standardised is a good step from an operational perspective

they do get fixed quite quickly when reported to the depot (the USB ports) most of the later batch on Streetdecks where built for Hong Kong but because of covid they didn't want them so diamond got them at a cheaper price

Diamond has the coolest logo and name out of all bus companies(in my opinion, cause I know there'll be mad people about the fact that I like the Diamond logo)

I wish first Oldham get their own local brand what will make a improvement on their network like they did to other regions on first group

I think First is avoiding that soon as it seems they might pull out of Manchester completely soon. As they lost several depots and are withdrawning most of their Rochdale routes. In Rochdale they used to have 6, 17, 57, 182, 454, 457, 471 but now all they have is 6 and 409 which the 6 is actually due to be cancelled in Autumn. Also if you have it with First West Yorkshire in Rochdale there is only going to be 409 and 590 as the 587 will be Team Pennine operated.
Also franchising is due for Greater Manchester meaning that the buses will be ran by TFGM to standardise the fleet and create a system similar to TFL franchising for First GM is unlikely.

I am impressed, I will have to find out more about this company. They seemed to have ticked every single box from what a passenger should expect from a bus company. The only downside I see in this video is not the company's fault but a review by government on whether buses should use motorways without seatbelts and whether to allow standees on buses whilst driving on them.

Streetdecks can only speed up to 80kmph they only have speed up to 56 miles per hour they aren’t that fast although they are quite faster than b9tls

As a Diamond Bus driver I can confirm that if you've got standing passengers, you are instructed to avoid the motorway and take the alternate route.

Greater Manchester seems to be a place busy in new bus operators running across the area in the recent years. In 2018 the Rosso bus network was taken over by Transdev from the Rossendale Council, In 2019 Go North West and Diamond Bus tookover Bury and Manchester depots from First and then Vision Bus and Go Goodwins have seem to be operating a lot more contracts and became more noticable as an operator.

I have plans to go to Rawtenstall, Bury, Rochdale, Burnley, Accrington and Burnley in the Summer Holidays from here in West Yorkshire. Luckily, since the 587 is becoming Team Pennine, I will be able to buy the Lancashire Day Ticket on the bus to travel anywhere on the Transdev network in Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
