- Mangy Wolf!
This wolf has mange and has already started losing its hair from behind the shoulder to the tail.
Be sure to check out our new videos on our building projects.
Please consider being a part of this project gofund.me/b83b3db0
I need to be at work early and I'm up watching wolf releases. Hmm
Equaliser 90 I have a university exam tomorrow! And I’m just sat here
We appreciate it too, Lol! Thank you for watching and for the laugh!
🤣🤣 I’m doing the same thing right now
Your four videos on how to use a catch pole and with long pole are invaluable. THANK YOU.
You guys do really great work Walter! Props to you and your crew. Thanks!
Thomas, thank you! We certainly appreciate your taking the time to watch our video!
I'm in the UK and finding these Wolf release videos' educational. Thanks for posting. :)
+Dawn Brosnan Thank you that is the intention of all of the videos and we appreciate your comment and views very much! Please feel free to share and subscribe! Thank you again!
Katieboil Anegg Thank you and welcome to Wisconsin USA, through our videos! Thank you for watching and for your kind words.
Thank you, we will be posting more this fall, very soon.
Not all types of mange are contagious. The "sarcoptic" type of mange IS very contagious, but the more common "demodectic" mange generally isn't -- and when an animal has it, it's because they're unhealthy in some other way. I once rescued a very mangy dog from a park, and with a couple of months of good feeding he had an AMAZINGLY thick and beautiful coat -- and he didn't infect either of my two dobes.
Nice to see the "stick through hoop" method working well!
GetMeThere1 when I saw the first release video I thought of it that they should use the stick through hoop lol and I know watched dit and it works much better then the last few
I do agree & have seen it myself, the turnaround is amazing. Unfortunately though this isn't a pet. Again this is only my opinion.
GetMeThere1, I read your comment on the other video...awesome idea with putting the stick through the loop. That went so much smoother and quicker for them.
thanks for that did not know that.
is there a way to tell?the difference.
You guys are pretty good at these wolf releases. I"m IMPRESSED!
Thank you Jessica for the kind words, we are glad you enjoy watching!
I see you guys took that commenter's advice about putting the bite stick through the loop of the catch pole.
Looks like it worked out pretty damn well. Shame your first success with the technique got soured with the knowledge you were letting mange get back into a pack.
Still, you guys are doing good work. Keep it up.
Wow that one was the fastest wolf you've taken so far reform the wolf releases I've seen so far, wolves r my favorite animals btw
Yeah, good technique with the two poles, bite stick through the loop of the catch pole. Miigwech for sharing.
+bradlee180 Bite stick ... the proverbial "bullet".
bradlee180 Ha'hou..
yea that was a suggestion made by a comment in one of their previous videos. it worked perfectly
Its not uncommon for wolves to actually recover from mange, its often a death sentence for foxes and smaller animals but wolves have a really great immune system and reacts alot better to the parasites than other species and can often fight it off and regrow hair in the bald spots. Good on you for letting it go and letting nature have its course.
your guy's have some real guts and brave clear minds, thanks in the name of the wolf's
so happy to see people doing good deeds for nature. I love wolves and admire them. so glad you guys do your best to help! keep it up!
Thank you for watching Liliana and we share your feelings for all animals! We will always do our best to keep all populations healthy and happy, just a little easier once some people start accepting that our intervention is always going to be necessary to keep the animals healthy.
You found a friend with a good catch pole and good strategy!
What a beautifull animal. Perfect job guys!!!!
Thank you for watching and for your kind words!
It would be nice if there was a quick and easy treatment you could administer to treat the mange before release.
Wolf my favorite animal !! Well done!!
Thank you Matti, we are glad you took the time to watch the video!
Awesome video !!
That guy with the boots on who rang that wolf up made it look easy... LOL...
nice to see u guys took that guys advice on the 3rd release
This make me so happy!
You do great work. subscribed
+owninggreendragsdude Thank you very much, we certainly appreciate your views and subscription!
2019 A little late to recommend, even so, a Great Job, Thank You So Much!!!!
Always eager to hear recommendations and comments related to our videos; never too late to voice them! Thank you for watching!
once again-- awesome!
Thank you Plastic Tree!
Don't mind all the naysayers, most people don't even know of the situation you guys are in, and even then most who comment in such ways are normally overtaken by their emotions rather than their reason. From what I can see and hear from your videos you guys sound compassionate and sincere, not blood lusting hunters who poach for only personal gain.
Still, it is sad to see the wolf in such condition(mange). Such handsome creature, what a shame.
+RainingBullets Thank you, it is sad and we wish we could do what is necessary to assist when we can, but our hands are tied by our law makers. Thank you for watching and for your comments!
Law makers don't stop you from running to get the local vet to give the wolf a shot to knock her out, treat her mange and release her. You could have, and you should have.
Ummmm and who is expected to pay the exorbitant fee to the vet? You?
Jack of all, get it through your head , you can't cure mange with one injection . It takes months. Good for you for caring , but these guys care very much also. And they are the people doing something instead of posting criticism on you tube.
hello from Russia. thx for videos about wolves! you do good job.
+life4destroy Thank you and greetings from a citizen of the USA!
these are hired killers, if that can be called a job.....not to most people
End Wildlife Services'Needless Killing Of Wild Animals Panzy
What "good job" he SET THE TRAPS. Trappers put their traps out of the way so the REAL humane people don't wreak or steal them. He's just letting the wolf go cause wolf season is over & poaching fines are a bitch to deal with.
life4destroy I don’t why but when I was reading your comment it was in a Russian accent in my head. 😂 would russians catch and release wolves?
Who are these heroes? Oh my gosh! what beautiful hearts.
Bravo, nice work an uphill task.
Cheers to bros from Multan Pakistan.
I love wolves
IM A WOLF REALEASE TOO SO .YOUR THE BEST CATCHER EVER SO THAT'S WHY I KEEP WATCHING THIS UNTIL PART 4
Thank you and please feel free to subscribe as we will have more coming this fall of the wolves. We will have some surprise animals as well, looking forward to the fall!
That was a excellent catch and save Exellent
Great to hear from a viewer and we appreciate your time viewing our videos; Thank you Mike Turley!
such educational to watch, i love watching about wolves, they are such beautiful animals.
Thank you very much! your name is of very special meaning to me and you should be grateful to have such a great name Rosemary and thank you very much for watching and for your kind words~
So simple. Carry supplies with you like a dust bag . We use them for our cattle and I have one hanging lower on a game trail for the wild animals. Helps everyone
Great job guys
That's the same guy who released a mountain lion. He knows how to do the job, he doesn't need advice.
So nice! Good guys
i feel so sorry for that wolf..wish your goverment would do more to protect them, and also allow you lads to give treatment if needed, but you do a great job...from uk
I like your catch pole that't the best made. Same one I use.
Just lost one this season, grrrrr. They seem to have changed their design and quality, but we will try one more to see if it was just a fluke!
They are so majestic and wonderful. Life is bittersweet; not just for humans, but for animals too. I feel bad about the mange. If life isn't already rough enough, they get that too. Sucks
+Susie Arviso We certainly do NOT like to see any of the canines get the mange, but many do in these parts. Thank you for watching and for your contribution to the comments!
amazing job keeep it up
Yup...This boys days are numbered...
+Heith Gagnon He carries, so I'm sure he'd be alright in the end. He doesn't want to kill them obviously. But come that situation, I believe he will prevail
Its a she.
Hello from Germany... WOW :) Very Nice
good job, thanks for the wolf.
Thank you for watching!
denis

+Francisco jabier Thank you for watching the video and we would certainly welcome you to subscribe.
Damn good release
Thank you, we appreciate your watching and your nice comment!
Smooth clean release actually one of the fastest ive seen.
So SAD...……...hope for his 'release', yet, his future is doubtful due to Mange and not healthy, sad story, yet....will be free from trap to go and do as he would care to do when dying. Glad for help!!!
Respect !!!!
Thank you, Tomazo!
man you guys are pro's...
Awesome
I can’t say thanks enough
God bless you
good job guys.. good job.. we must protect the animals.. it's our duty
Thank you for watching!
Protect? If it was in season they woulda shot her right in the head. Don't be naive, and I don't even trust that they didn't track her and do it off camera.
But it's not a season , they can stay at home , but they do a good job as far...
good JOB
good job
Great release!
+Scott W They did do well, thank you Scott!
Wow!
Grandes hombres un ejemplo para la humanidad, sigan adelante los animales no merecen sufrir así
Totalmente de acuerdo amigo!
Why did it take until the fourth wolf release to figure out it might work to put the decoy stick through the catch loop?
Man they’re fast
Danke.
good work people, thank you very much!
Let the nature take ya course,
Save the wolves, and wolves will keep coyotes in check.
Wolves in wisconsin have exploded they're wiping out deer populations and coyotes are being pushed out to other areas, the management sucks around here, once they enable a good hunting season the balance should stay closer to where it needs to be
Looks like you guys learned from the first few! Put the loop around the stick first!
aww
They should make some exceptions to hunting/trapping laws in cases like this. That one wolf could wipe out an entire pack.
Curious if a more humane thing to do with a wolf with mange is to dispatch it?
Is that a controversial topic among hunters?
Confused... if it’s contagious and ultimately leads to a slow painful death... why is she being released!?
Lily, that is a great question and it is because of the laws of the State and Federal Government, neither of which work in common sense nor understanding of the world outside of most of their offices! It is a shame and just one of many, many, ridiculous laws we must follow as sportsman and citizens.
Thank you for watching and for your question!
Love wolfs...dam mange..lot of animals now with mange.. moose..deer.. bear..wolfs...coyitees. ..dogs. Only cats don't seem to get the mange for some reason.
Poverinooo ma pk dovete fargli del maleee schifosi ♥️😭😭😭😭♥️
i didn't understand, what is the point in traps when the wolfs get caught in it?
bon travail !
vrey nice
How do you do that and that is a amazing job
WE do not get paid to do any of this at all, actually costs us a considerable sum of money each time we need to go and do this. We would like to see a job and pay for this work, but most things that are done to help wildlife is not paid; however, most things that mess up our wildlife is paid well and they even have titles for the jobs, lol!
Thank you for watching!
nice and better job, loop over pole method
Again, well done lads. Isnt there a way they can be sheep dipped or something similar to clear the mange?
So if the wolve gets back to his mates, he will spred the deseas? I dont understand why you let him go if he will kill other wolves with that. Thankful to see the wolve gets away with his live but did the illnis spred? Sry for my English.
It is out of our hands, most all laws in this country regarding wildlife are made by people with little to no interaction with wildlife. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?
If you are saying that killing that wolf is illegal, I understand ... But you did not have to save her and let he spread the disease.
Me to
wat part of wi u in i hunt by crivitz
Late reply, but I can answer this as a biologist. Nature must take its course. The disease won't kill them all. A lot of them, but not all. Mange and other parasitic and blood borne diseases inflict packs and herds with higher than normal populations. It's the great equalizer. It doesn't allow the wolf pack to get so large that they kill all of the wildlife that keeps the trees and meadows clear, and it doesn't allow the herds of deer (et al) to grow so large that they run out of food and starve. Humans are not the great savior of species. We must allow life and death to cycle as it normally would. You can't save them all, nor should you.
JADNI VUKOVI!!!!!
Thank you for releasing this Wolf, even though she had mange. It always breaks my heard to read comments like "should have shot the wolf. or shot more than one" simply because some hunters, farmers, disagree with the wolf returning. It boggles my mind that people can not live in harmony with nature without immediately going "nope we have to kill it" once their own property gets a visit by these animals.
regarding the mange. how does it cross over from one pack to another and infect others? or does the infection just stay within this one pack? i only know mange cases with neglected dogs so the connection to mange and "over population" isn't something i can understand...mainly because wolfs aren't really overpopulated (contrary to humans with their 7.8 billion people) i could imagine that a prey of theirs is infected and as they're hunting and killing it, it spreads the infection to them.
+KaySan666 IT's even odder because being a good hunter/predator/trapper is all about only killing what you need to live and keep the ecosystem balanced.
The sorry thing is up here in Wisconsin and Canada things are a bit buggered out of balance after the overhunting of caribou and culling of a lot of wolves (who the overhunting had been blamed on) a few decades ago. Things still ain't balanced out yet.
in a pristine environment, yeah. however pristine environments have not been seen since the ice age.
I would like to observe that the wolf does not normally pose a danger to people, since it carefully avoids us.The massacres in the flocks are caused by hybrids and they can be a danger to us. And the hybrids are the consequence of our unhealthy behaviors. Therefore, we all must protect and defend the purity of that wonderful animal that is the wolf.
Greetings
Great job guys from Stamford, Connecticut. Was wondering though, why can't you guys just hit him with a light sedative so you can just get in there and release him quicker, also when he starts coming out of the sedation, you can watch from a distance????
She looks so young
all im hearing "control control control"
We would not have to hear that if the people who make the laws would stop changing them, every time someone whines about an issue with animals and fish a new law is put in place. We who live and work in the woods understand much more about the reality of the wildlife than those who sit in concrete buildings in the city making decisions. So if you have issue, please take that up with our law makers! Thank you for your comment!
Thanks but I actually live in a rural area in Michigan that has wolves. So please dont say that I'm in a city when I'm really in my cabin.
@rosemary z you are such a silly person
It is totally out of line to release it and leave it, to spread sickness to other wolves, unless you want exactly that to happen.
If that was 2015 season I am wondering what the 2016 season will bring, nice job on all of the release's, is the state looking into allowing you guy's to start trapping the wolf's, or are they turning their heads???
Great question and it looks like there is a chance we are going to get an opportunity to get a few harvest tags if everything goes well. We will keep you posted, thank you for watching and all of your insight! Nice to have civilized and informative conversationalists on this channel! Thanks again!
Michael Rogers
لا والله يا رب العالمين الرحمن السديس والشريم على
The diffrence about animals and humans is that they can't say : Thank you
we currently have a coyote and bobcat issue in west virginia
Where at in northern Wisconsin? I live in ironwood
sir that one wolf at 1:28 looks like a wolf dog hybrid.
Thanks for sharing. I believe being able to release a nontarget animal, unharmed, is much more important than how to make a set or which bait to use. Respect for wildlife should be the most important part of being a sportsman.
yes.good jop boys.
Any complaints, send money for vet care, and medical bills for farmers, children and livestock!
good-job-guys
+bobby Thank you Bobby, looks warm where you are, lol. Trade you? Thanks for watching!
Thanks-Walter;]

We have many wolves here, so you can be certain they will be around for a long long time. Thank you for watching and for your comment!
