I love how she handled the whole raw meat situation. She is a master of being firm but not mean. If I ever become a mom I want her firmness and patience 💗
@@LilyW-in7ou Probably not. In Japan chicken is produced very sanitarily and raw chicken dishes exist. I'm even a bit surprised as raw meat and fish is extremely common in Japanese cuisine.

@@wreagfe Yes, but children's immune system aren't as strong as adult's immune system. Also the a raw chicken has bacterias such as good and bad bacterias. So no matter how "good" of a quality the raw meat was it still has bacterias and can cause food poisoning!
at 7:04, that was an incredibly fast reaction to save Sutan from bacterial attacks in a child's stomach. I probably would react a lot slower and my child would’ve cried all night from severe stomach pains. Great quick response Kimono Mom. Edited: I forgot to mention, that Chicken looks absolutely mouth watering 😋
As a parent of a soon-to-be 2 year old, I appreciate that you left in Sutan showing big emotions and also Moe teaching about how dangerous raw meat is. Saying "no" when it's absolutely necessary and keeping calm are always a struggle for me. Wonderful to see such positive parenting
And don't overlook the band aide episode. Another 'don't do that' teaching moment followed by a laugh and praise.

Baby Sutan quickly became her mom’s little helper in the kitchen, learning new cooking techniques and proving that the pair have an adorable bond. It looks like a chicken lollipop...yummy!
It's funny how everytime she learns a new expression she uses it over and over lol. I love the fact that you are teaching her to help in the kitchen at her age, it will be good for her in the future if she wants to cook or just assist you in there. Great video

Sutan is becoming a great helper with bigger assistance now. She even helped with a wound. She is learning great skills for when she starts doing all the cooking on her own. Mom must be proud.

Love how you handle motherhood Moe. Sometimes kids need to be told "no", but it shouldn't be the go to word. You let Sutan express herself unless there is danger or an extremely pressing issue. 💜 Soy sauce makes a great seasoning for chicken. Indian (curry,and yogurt), Jamaican (jerk), Cajun spice, and Cuban (garlic) flavors also work in the frying process. In the USA, we make hot and spicy fried chicken (Nashville style) and put honey on friend chicken. There is so hot and spicy honey here.
Maybe one day Kimono Mom will try popular Fried Chicken recipes outside Japan, but i'm still learning so much of her Japanese cooking i dont mind if she doesn't get to those.
Sutan has leveled up in Cooking Assistant skills and Introduction skills. 😂

@Moe Another flavour you could try for tulip karaage is Barbeque or Buffalo Sauce... We commonly use these sauces for chicken wings in Canada and the USA and they are delicious!

Su-Chan is growing up so fast!!! She's becoming so thoughtful and sweet. The bandaid moment was really adorable.
In my family we use a ton of seasonings and egg to marinate, then we coat it in a mix of flour and corn starch before frying! And I add some pickle juice for its acidity! It's soooo good and makes the meat really tender. And the flour/corn starch makes it really crispy! Some people use beer batter for their chicken or fish, and some people just dredge in flour after seasoning with salt and pepper. There's a lot of ways to fry chicken and I love them all!! 🥰🥰

Sometimes I use the same ingredients but add a little Chinese 5 spice powder to the chicken as well as a tiny bit of sugar.

My grandmother used to marinate chicken in vinegar, a bit of dark soy sauce, and garlic before frying. She didn't use any flour or breading, just the chicken itself. Her recipe makes me feel very nostalgic. It has a simple taste and texture.

Fried chicken here in Angola is made in many ways, but explaining how my family makes it... They season the chicken with salt, garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil and sometimes with white wine and bay leaf, When it's for frying, pass it in the egg and breadcrumbs, it's super simple but it's delicious, try it one day
