It's okay to cry, BTS has that effect on many and for each person that can be a different song. BTS is probably the best live performers that I have ever seen. Why is it so stigmatized to say to cry over a BTS song? It is as valid to crying over The Beatles songs. Everyone is capable of conveying emotions and you are entitled to your own opinion, and most likely, it is the fact that they do know nothing about them and only see BTS superficially and as more like objects, not as humans.

Good art will hit you emotionally. Crying merely shows that an encounter with art has communicated with you and moved your soul to a place it wasn't at a moment earlier. As someone older than you I will tell you that BTS has moved me to tears many, many times. And those tears have made me a better person. So while instinct says maintain a facade of impermeability, it is unnecessary with ARMY. We all have absorbed numerous BTS songs about learning how to rise above putting on masks to hide what we perceive to be weaknesses threatening our Personas. As you dig deeper you will find BTS will guide you in how to be comfortable with yourself, and you will celebrate moments when what they do teaches you through the sudden vulnerability of stepping outside your lane.

(Many reactors default to making jokes about BTS, whether it be their race, taking swipes at their masculinity, shading their fans, trashing on their music, etc. It's good to see people who care about music really dig into production, lyricism, and performance in discovering the message the band wants to share.)

This was the most real and true reaction I have seen. I am a 58 year old ARMY. I have seen and felt these emotions many times in my life. To have these artists , at such a young age, convey them so powerfully is an emotional rollercoaster. RM coming so hard at first, then Suga (who wrote these words) giving so much of himself. RM's one roar of pain and rage,,, That amazing chorus . Then just when you thought it could not hurt you any more, J Hope (our sunshine!) Comes in like a panther strike and carves your heart out!!
You reacted just as this song aims to make a feeling person react. Never be ashamed of what an artistically written word brings out of you. This song was supposed to make you feel the way it did make you feel.

In ARMY we love to say "You find BTS when you need them the most". Not only it is great music but also it is very healing and uplifting. They really want to do something with their music. For me too, I was into Korean series for more then 10 years now, so I am exposed to culture but never listened to their music and when I was in real dark place I found BTS and their music and aesthetics brighten my days.
A lot of people bush BTS for releasing English songs and that they r too pop. Like they sold their identity. But the purpose of those songs was to lift people mood up during the pandemic. English made them more available for casual listeners and I think its no surprise they did English songs, they did a lot of Japanese song too. They made Dynamite first, then released and album BE that includes Dynamite and 6 more songs in Korean. Album was meant to lift up spirits of fans too but not all songs are happy and fun as Dynamite. They were sharing their experience and feelings about pandemic and this make us able to relate to them and feel comforted, I think.
Butter and Permission to Dance are two other songs in English. They were released after BE. Butter is fun summer song, Permission to dance is more directed towards pandemic recovery and the message is that we don't need to wait to live life and need to learn find happiness even in hard situation we r in right now. They incorporated sign language in the choreography and kept it simple so everone can follow along and dance.
All 3 songs and album BE did the job and lifted up spirits of a lot of ARMYs and casual listeners. Sorry, it is long comment :) Had an urge to share it

I already had depression/anxiety/ADHD issues. Fun fact, untreated ADHD gets markedly worse with menopause. BTS was almost a literal lifesaver. I fell down that rabbit hole sooo hard, started with Butter (Colbert), peaked (so far) with PTD in LA D1/D2 (beyond grateful I was able to experience that). Still a baby ARMY, but fully invested. Some of my army friends recommended me to your channel. Just finished binging your reactions and I’m so grateful to have found you. It feels like making a new friend who you can relive your experiences with.
Army love spreading BTS’s message and music to anyone who is willing to listen. Unfortunately, BTS’s journey and rise to the top has been very difficult (both within Korea and internationally, especially in the US). Even now, despite how international they’ve become, we continue to see the media attack them simply because they are a foreign/Asian male group that doesn’t sing in English. That’s why we as ARMY are so protective of them. Most recently, Suga’s collab on ‘Girl of My Dreams’ had a lot of reactors spewing racist or xenophobic comments. Even I had to take a step back from watching new reactors because of how tired I’ve grown of either people’s closed-mindedness, or from them jumping on the bandwagon and using BTS for views. This has especially become common since their first English single dropped back in August 2020.
Suga once said ‘you’ll like BTS’s music if you listen without prejudice.’ As many have said before, thank you for being respectful and exploring more of BTS. I’ve enjoyed your journey thus far and I hope you have a good time falling down the rabbit hole. You’ve gained a new subscriber!
P.S. Hobi (our nickname for j-hope) is like the sunshine of the group. Always bringing us smiles, hope, and joy. But his part in Outro: Tear towards the end is always so powerful and I too find myself a little teary-eyed. It’s okay to be vulnerable and we love you more for being able to share your experiences with us. 💜

Suga’s ‘Seasaw’, featuring his singing vocals from the Love Yourself album series. I specifically love this performance when he wore the yellow sweater (verse the red suit). And while he normally does not dance during during his solo songs, it was his idea to add choreo for this one.
      - m.czcams.com/video/3qZikvulxiw/video.html
Rap-line’s ‘ddeang’, released for free on their SoundCloud as a gift for army from their 2018 FESTA (BTS’s 5th anniversary since debut). Song is loaded with Korean culture, wordplay, and is so fun to chant along too. I also recommend DKDKTV’s explanation video.
      - m.czcams.com/video/Jsfi1PUEQWA/video.html (performace)
      - m.czcams.com/video/fdJl1SL03Ac/video.html (explanation)
I’ll also recommend ‘Enjoy BTS More’ youtube channel - for when looking for subs/CC for live performances. This person draws the translations from reliable army translators.
You can also check out Doolset’s website for translations and explanations, especially when you want to have something handy to reference quickly back too.

Tearing up right now too, with you. This was really an open wound for them that we, army, join with to cry with them.
I suggest BORN SINGER live -- that is CRAZY emotional too….. but you will feel that when you already understand where they came from (how badly they were treated before).
And don’t apologize for the tears. ❤️ This song does get to anyone who had the hardest of breakups/ loss and those who empathize. And the face and interpretation of JHOPE of this song is on another level. He embodied all of what he was rapping - why does it fall? why does it get torn? and his fear of losing / breaking up.
He wrote his lines if i’m not mistaken…… and so with Suga and RM for their parts as well. So this is straight from the heart of the rapline served with passion. (If you watch their acceptance speech during MAMA 2018 -- you will see how bad this affected them, especially Jhope).

For me, this is one of the most powerfully emotional songs, ever - I was there, at Wembley, the pain was palpable. It broke me, it broke everyone - and Hobi shattered me into pieces and I will never be the same 💔
This was such a heartfelt response, and I really appreciate you sharing it.
Suggestion - First Love, a solo by Suga, released by BTS tho (not Agust D) - fair warning, it rips my heart out too… Suga is my bias because of his lyricism, his ability to show us his soul moves me like no other songwriter. Also, I echo what another commentator suggested, Born Singer - they didn’t compose the melody (it’s by J. Cole, Born Sinner), but the lyrics and performances are all BTS.

I find one of the most beautiful things about BTS is how they bring us outside our comfort zone. Allowing themselves to be vulnerable with the listener creates a safe space for us to interact freely and emotionally. They have never shied away from discussing difficult subjects, choosing to speak their stories even at the risk of their popularity and career. Its rare to find that kind of authenticity in mainstream music these days! 💜BTS are really amazing young men, to say the least :')

i absolutely loved this, you have such a wholesome vibe and seeing you moved to tears over j-hope's performance touched me in a way i wasn't expecting. i've been a fan since their beginning (back when i, myself, was only 12! lol), and j-hope is the most guarded member of the group. he's a wonderfully, hilariously effervescent personality who really lights up the room, which i think tricks ppl into thinking he's also very open. but he isn't, he's bright and charismatic and cheerful but he very intentionally doesn't let you see behind it (on camera, at least). the only times i've seen him share w us truly raw emotions are when he can't help it, like in this performance. this is the most emotional i've seen him, even more than when he cried during a huge award acceptance speech imo. that surprised him and would've been impossible to stave off, whereas this slowly crept up on him through the song until it couldn't be contained. when i first saw this i was so shocked bc it's so unlike him, and then deeply, intimately moved. i'll never forget it, and i'm so grateful to him for letting us see it, and for you sharing how much it moved you as well 💜

RM: Tear as in crying at loss
Suga: Tear as in tearing something apart (parting ways)
    J-Hope: Fear of loss
What I take from it is:
RM’s flow sounds a bit sad and wanting to pretend it’s not happening (I don’t want to listen to that)
Suga’s is more angry like he’s trying to push away before getting too hurt or pretending it won’t bother him to end things then and there but also angry at the fact that he’s trying so hard to pretend it doesn’t matter
Jhope’s sounds desperate like he doesn’t want to let go and to hold whats left before it disappears completely ( I also notice how he keeps moving forward and lower as if he’s trying to chase but it’s just out of reach until he finally gives up in the end)
This is only a bit of what I personally take from it
Also is perfectly alright to get emotional from music it shows your genuine honesty which I appreciate

I have thought that part of the emotional impact of the end where J-Hope is showing his pain, for me, at least, comes because J-Hope is usually the sunshine, the happiness. His solo music is often so upbeat, his rap is like vocal dancing, it’s Suga’s rap that is usually so raw and emotional. I feel like J-Hope often puts on a happy face because he wants to bring a piece of peace and happiness to Army and BTS, to be our Hope in a really scary, sad, and ugly world. For him to let it show, to let it be so raw, it’s special and that tears me up more. Don’t be worried about crying. Army would never make fun of you for it. I was crying with you, if that helps 😂💜

You’ve experienced why ARMYs are so dedicated to BTS - because we’ve all had that experience of connecting with them on a deeply human level. In the fandom we say BTS find you when you need them. To me it feels as if they’re walking through life together with us holding our hands. They never sugarcoat anything, they never say “It’ll be OK.” All they do is say “There will be a tomorrow, let’s walk towards it together and try to smile today if we can.” Anyway, that’s why people who aren’t open to BTS or aren’t ready for those emotions, don’t get why we love them so much.

Your reaction was so authentic, and as I'm sure others have said, those of us in the fandom appreciate so much when reactors discover our guys, offer the respect they are due, and go on a genuine journey to get to know them. I also respect your focus on the music. They are first and foremost, musicians - artists - who are dedicated to their craft. All too often that part of their story is overlooked or dismissed or downplayed, by those who don't take the time to explore their artistry.

The crying makes your reaction authentic, don't worry. This is exactly proof of the power of their music. I always tear up watching this as well. Great reaction!

Suga can get out of you the deepest emotions, if on the top of that he is being hit with emotions of himself !!!! Well here you have the result .
He made the entire group cry like babies.
That guy he is pure emotion. He cried recording First Love.
First Love and The Last are 2 songs they make me cry badly.

"Is crying a big deal? Tears can come out just like that 🤨" - Suga in an interview when he talked about tearing up when he yawns :)

You shouldn't be embarrassed about crying. My first ever experience of BTS had me in tears and I couldn't understand why. It's as if their music aims for my heart with laser-like precision. It's powerful stuff.

Exactly, about their almost disbanding; and Suga's Trivia Seesaw is also part of this album collection! The signs were all there. Something to 🤔 about!
