There's levels to their whole actual performance as well.
NFL said to them all to tone it down a bit in general.
Told Snoop not to rock the blue bandana in his back pocket representing his gang Crips so he just chose a whole Blue Outfit hahahaha.
Dre ignored them as well saying "still ain't got love for the police" line which he was asked not to say.
And of course Eminem ignored them as well kneeling down placing his head in his hand as a reference to what Colin Kaepernick did at National Anthem during NFL.
And maybe that little "I ain't mad at ya" sample played by Dre when Eminem kneeled was a shot at NFL too
Undoubtedly the most iconic hip-hop moment in history.
But Eminem wins every time in my eyes for his kneel-down.
Yeah I don't want to hear one more thing about Eminem. Loving this culture or not being about this culture, you might as well close up that Chatty Cathy room or close your mouth cuz I ain't having it anymore. Obviously Eminem what he stands for. And that should not stop. Anybody in expecially hip-hop to not go on stage ever again that stadium was packed.
Glad I knew none of this . I just enjoyed what I heard 👂 . I personally don't go to a rap artist for my info on politics, I go to musical artists, to bob my head and tap my foot 🤣 🤷♀️
You know that the real reason Eminem knelt was...
his knees were weak and his arms were heavy. :-)
The whole halftime was fire! But that crowd when Em came out went bananas! I've never seen a halftime crowd react like this.
Can we all just agree that Em is capable of giving us a double by kneeling just like he does with words?
He said he knelt for pac! I respect that and I’d say for kap and Dre 🇮🇪❤️
Paying homage to the greats as always
It was definitely a double Em told the NFL before anything that he was going to kneel for Kapp they told him he couldn't. So I think Dre's playing I ain't mad at ya was in response to Em kneeling anyway after being told not to. People say why didn't they all kneel but it's because Em can get away with it and was going to do it anyway. There was little pieces of rebellion throughout the show Dre saying still not loving police after being told not to. Snoop adding just a hint of gold to his originally all blue outfit and throwing Cs and C walking on the biggest stage. Kdot doing Alright a protest song as opposed to humble or something more of a hit. But the other artist aside from Em weren't as out front with it because they wanted to make sure that Hip Hop artist would still be able to perform on that stage in the future. Just my opinions
Your observations make sense besides the NFL releasing a statement saying that they DID NOT tell EM not to kneel and that in all rehearsals that element was included. But knowing EM I think he told them that it was in tribute to 2PAC but he meant it BOTH ways... just my 2 cents.
U r right they did drop a few things to comply with NFL complained but the pay off for the future if hip hop is huge
@@OroraMonroe Bro wtf else are they going to say? "We, the organizers of the half-time show are openly racist"?
Yeah bro this halftime show was epic it was all the music I listen to in high school. Little bit of nostalgia for me. I also listen to a lot classic rock and rock and hip-hop and these guys were it. Glad to be a part of the AOD family. 🤘👊
When u was in highschool in senior some group of younger kids tried to make fun of me for liking Eminem. When I punched a locker they backed off......
As a foreigner I stayed till 3am to watch it , i had no idea about the game they were playing but stayed only for Halftime
The shot with all six together, they are "The Hip-hop Avengers"!
This is the first super bowl half time show I have ever watched and it was fucking awesome. This really was massive not just for Dre but for the hip hop industry
Show was so epic I watched it Live and now watching a ton of reactions because reliving this over n over is so worth it. This was nostalgia at its finest for sure straight 🔥
Mary J is about the same age as me 49, it must be in our genetics LOL she is rocking that outfit , this is bringing me back to my childhood, OMG best halftime show ever, and I'm so glad that hip hop made it there, yes Eminem stands up for what he believes in. Give this man his respect? I love him.😂🙏⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ just made me happy enough to tear. Mia
With so much going on in the World, Mary wants No More Drama for everyone, ❤️
He 100 percent kneeled in reference to Colin Kaepernick
As he fuckin should.
royce even posted him kneeled down on his Instagram.
Eminem is always with the black people community every chance he gets.
🔥🔥🔥 As far as Em kneeling, he knows why he did....I'm sure it will be mentioned as a bar in an upcoming song from Eminem.....
Because he stands with Kap. The nfl said he couldn't... well, of course he'll do what he wants. 😁🤣
@@queencerseilannister3519 the funniest part is the NFL thinking Em would follow their stupid restrictions! 🤣🤣🤣
I'm a 45yr old southern gal & i honestly probably would have passed out at that show!!! 😂 That is my entire tween & teen years... all the way to NOW! I would love to meet Eminem, Marshall Mathers, and Slim Shady! lol Another rad reaction, sweetheart ✌️🩶🫂
Your smiles are priceless!😁😁
Only me or not, stayed till ~4am for this halftime show xD (I'm from EU) totally didn't regret it
Jup same here, I'm from Germany and I was in bed at like 4:30am haha
Same ❤
The kneeling is a double entendre! He's simply paying respects to both parties!
They didn't technically have to switch the lyrics, they just spit the radio edit versions. It's insane though to watch Snoop, high as fuck, spit a song he's spit millions of times live as the dirty version and do it as the radio edit and not fuck up... LIVE. Shit like that is why dude's a legend.
My mother and I cried because of this!!! Pretty much speechless!!!
🖤🖤🖤
Was waiting for this!! 💙
I'm glad that you noticed Anderson. Paak playing the Drums. Btw I read a post about Eminem kneeling down before Dre went on the Piano, the NFL told Eminem not to kneel, but he kneeled anyway to pay homage to Tupac, they also told Snoop Dogg not to C-Walk and not to have a Blue Bandana in his back pocket, he Crip Walked anyway and instead of having a Blue Bandana in his back pocket he wore a whole Blue Bandana Outfit, they also told Dr. Dre to take out the "negative references" to police out of his lyrics, but he left it in anyway. NFL tried and failed.
He was so kneeling for Kapp! En getting emotional about that. As he is allowed, he did something wonderfull.
Anderson Paak was my biggest surprise! 😁🤗
Couldn’t wait to see your reaction after seeing how excited you were for the trailer! Great Show Great Reaction ❤️
Loved the show! Brought me right back to my adolescence. 😍 But I gotta disagree about the Em kneeling; he 100% did it in solidarity with Kaepernick; he said he wanted to do it but the NFL told him not to… so OF COURSE he did it! And I think Dre followed it up with I ain’t mad at ya, as a show of support to Em’s middle finger to the NFL. Same with Snoop; they told him not to wear a blue bandana because of gang affiliation, so instead he wore an ENTIRE outfit of a blue bandana! 🤣🤣🤣 God, I love them.
Yo can I just say how insanely good Mary J. Blige looked? She is 51!! Doesn't look a day over 30. She doesn't just look good for her age...she looks good PERIOD. Hell all of Dre, Snoop, 50 and Em looked good. The average age for all 5 is 50 years old, that's crazy and yet it was the best halftime show I've ever seen. It's encouraging to see superstars that still look like they are in their prime, mad respect.
Greatest Half Time show EVER = PRINCE! In the Rain playing and singing Purple Rain, Come On Now, admit it. Amazing doesn't come close to what the whole show he put on was!!
The Sky Smiled as Bowie passed by leaving sparkling trail of Star Dust on his way to becoming a beautiful Star! 💫 (He did actually believe that we spread into the atmosphere and become stars when we leave this life)...Walk On.
The Sky Wept Purple tears as Prince s guitar lay silent and bleeding when, with Dignity, Grace, and Dramatic Flourish, he took a Final Bow ...Walk On. 🎸
The Sky embraced Morrison with a Warm Breeze and whispered back to him..."It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end." ...Walk On. 🌬🌪
And so many MORE, from Ludwig van Beethoven & Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Tupac Shakur & Meatloaf - All - Masterful, Special, Gifts that, Thankfully, touched our existence ... Now Beautiful Thoughts, Memories, and Sounds left to us, as they ...Walk On! ❤🔥🖤🥀
I’ve watched this countless times. This is my favourite music from my youth and it couldn’t have been more epic.
NFL asked him not to kneel. Em did what Em does
This was so fucking lit🔥 it was nostalgic for me.
I got emotional and had chills the whole show and my teenage self was cheesing
Born in83 in denmark, had a visit to the US in 96 and came back a new person.... Everything from that era in US rap was a big part of my teens! :)
I’m going to get chills every time I watch this!
This was amazing I also watched it last night too xx
6:26 Respect. Great pause. EDIT: 6:44 You are a GOAT
17:44
Dre playing the intro to Still D.R.E. on the piano…gives me chills!!
I've watched this 4 times now and still get the chills LEGENDS and 🔥eminem kneeling down respect
Legendary Iconic Show. My nostalgia was in overload and I crip walked cause I had to get the energy out. Lol
As an L.A. native I really appreciated the stage asthetics which are actual landmarks in Compton.
Honestly, I was waiting for your reaction to this legendary moment. We have the same reaction, lmao
Born 1980 and a Stan since 99 but a snoop and Dre fan a long time before that this was tear inducing I was like a child on Xmas day!!! Eminem all day every day
Yes, that is John Malkovich in the cart who also starred in Being John Malkovich! Love your reactions man. Keep up the great work. We all have your back.
No matter how many times I watch it, I still get chills every time! This was epic and hopefully shows younger generations where this all comes from!
Cliff .. you're like a buddy that I love to watch hip-hop with
May seem insignificant but you know the difference it makes in listening along with someone you know who loves the art.
You, knox and Stevie are just beautiful companies I found to cherish hip-hop. 🏄💗
I also thought Mary picked that song for the underline theme of them all taking a stand against certain things
I’m in my 40s so seeing this brought me back to my youth in So. California. I never listen to rap now unless it’s old school.
🔥🔥🔥 show, all these Legends together on the same Stage:)
Legends. Period.
That was just epic. One of the better ones in quite a while. As far as why those songs, they and 50 came out around 20 years ago, with Lose Yourself itself being in 2002 and probably one of his most popular. Mary’s songs had charted really well and they were produced by Dre and Kendrick being an Aftermath artist
People acting like they’re still the same size as they were when 50 released that track. 🙄
The point that you might have missed was that first Snoop was told no bandana no affiliation so he wore a bandana patterned outfit. Eminem was told Not to kneel and chose to anyway. There's only so much whitewash you can use on these older classic street hits before everything that everyone loves about them is so G rated and vanilla that it's a slap to the artists. For once the artists were able to stand up for themselves and what they created. I'm just curious how many diamond status artists stood on that stage. Did my old heart good to see so many legends stand there and get their love While they were are still alive. Needs to happen more in my honest opinion.
I think Mary chose those song because those are her and Dr. Dre's biggest hits together.
Excellent reaction, on the breakfast club she said she’d chosen No Drama to promote no drama with everything going on in the world lately.
It was nastalgia. It felt like home. 43 grammys and 1 Oscar between them
Also must add a Pulitzer Prize because of Kendric
This is the only time I’ve actually wanted to watch anything related to the super bowl 😂 I don’t like football tho
They told snoop no blue bandana, so he wore a whole blue bandana outfit, the told dre he couldnt say still not liking tje poloce he did it anyways, and eminem kneeling he was told not to but did. They the OGs
What I understand is the song choice of all artists were based on record sales ...not popularity...
...because in their era... records sales is the sole method of measuring the popularity of a song...
If only I could have been there; I would have screamed the place down
in so fast it's only available in 360p but still gonna enjoy this :P
Almost restarted my phone because of the audio 😂😂😂 had to come and see the comments
So many people missed Anderson Paak on Drums
Eminem the best !!
it absolutely was for CK.
In my Top Five of All Time . . . . Halftime shows . . . . just like Rock & Roll . . . .Sometimes you need edit out your Dirty words for MASS Acceptance . . . and A NFL Halftime performance is the MASS Acceptance bench mark . . . . Excellent & Masterful performance, even with the edited lyrics . . . .
only man i know who can throw gang signs on national tv but he is so dang cool
Yes, it's COMPTON
No more Drama says it all really 😂😂✌❤🇬🇧
Oh and Em the 🐐 kdot smashed it and it was all about Dre getting is flowers 🌹🌻🥀🌷🌼
My opinion is that No more drama and then Alright right after it were kind of a message, I don't think it was accidental, concerning everything that went down with the NFL, I found it kind of cathartic, Dre thought that performance through. And then Em does what Em does because he can, if any of them did it it the reaction would've been so dramatic, maybe even jeopardized future halftime shows for rap, there would be so much backlash. But it needed to be done, this is not a group that ever was silent on social issues, on the contrary, and Em doing it was a genius move, it got the attention but without consequences for anyone. Amazing show.
Am I the only one with no sound?
Get that fucking audio out my ear adios.🤣 anyone? Haha can't wait to hear the reaction tho for real.
It won’t play 🥺
Up in smoke tour v2
MJ .. you answer the own questions..
I think this was the 2nd best halftime show behind Princes show, however i am biased and Prince is my favorite musician
dr dre produced no more drama
No. He produced "Family Affair ". NMD was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Y'all need to stop fighting about why Em took the knee at the Half-Time Show.
You know his knees are weak, arms are heavy........ 😁
Why was he upsidedown? That was my question too🔥🙃🔥
Did you notice that they asked him to not wear the bandana so he said fine but his whole outfit is a giant bandana pattern? Lol.
Hey Cliff, what did you think of this year’s performance? I don’t know if you have reacted to it?
We don't mind v completely understand u watched it's ok as in v know this Collab had to watched
No audio
Lol. Oops. Show!
Honestly this almost had me stay up to watch but the nfl is as interesting as watching paint dry to me even in biggest game of the year. Now i get that Rugby is probably boring to Americans watching and thats fair but to have to sit through it and stay up to 4 when i have do a 12 hour shift that starts at 7 am nah
Ya know, if they do not do a mega tour with all of them before retiring, I'll be disaapointed. I'm no fan of Snoop, but the line up is still solid with him on it and makes it iconic. At least once after the pandemic. lol It may not be the most sold tour. But it for sure would be way up there.
For some reason, I was really hoping they would have made their medley shorter and do a surprise group track. Now that would have been made this halftime show legendary.
btw, Drre was happy af when the devorce was finalized. What do you think Gospel was about? xD
'Em told the NFL before the show he was going to take a knee for Kaepernick. The NFL said "No". Zero f**** given 😎
I got audio
i wasnt sure if he tripped or if that was on purpose.
No audio here either
So did Pepsi ask Dre and he turned it into this?
This show was the best!
Without Eazy E, there would be no Dr. Dre on a global scale......possibly. Think about it. No Eazy......no NWA......Ice cube, ren, yella etc. No movie Friday posssibly.... Eazy E - the godfather of gangsta Rap. This performance brought tears to my eyes - It's culture - It's my childhood, - Very moving!!!!!!!!!!! HIPHOP WON THE SUPERBOWL
It says “no stream” and won’t play
Where's the sound at?!?!
Tbh I wanted Kendrick to perform Humble or Damn
Seems both Em and Kendrick's sets were cut short for 50's.But (imo) they could have cut off Mary's No more drama,it just didn't really fit the show.Em kneeling was def a double, and Dre playing I ain't mad atcha seemed like a response to that.
18:20 noticed Snoop's mic getting cut off?!probably some swearing in there😃
Dude, you're the spitting image of AEW wrestler Jon Moxley. I don't think he's into hip hop, though. haha
I saw some that were not as nice as ninja turtles! Someone said he looked like Bizarre! Ouch! 50 is very sensitive I noticed! Lol.
hmmm maybe mary j blige did no more drama to mock the nfl not wanting drama? :D
Snoop still looks like he's 30 because he's picked from all the weed!
I'm glad you got it! Cuz.. I don't get that song choice! I get the 1st song...but 2nd song just didn't fit with the rest of the shoe! Imo.
and Dre had to pay for the entire production out of pocket. NFL was getting out of hand with restrictions lol
and they played to the audience, not to the TV viewers - I really think that's what makes this and Prince's up there as the best. and Dre turned the whole damn bowl with it's crazy new tech into his studio, and the audio was so clean because it was NOT being projected out from the field, but throughout the Arena back INTO the bowl, and to home viewers directly first.
I liked the show but Mary should have had more clothes on from the waist down. She’s not 20 anymore 😆 but I still love her. Love you cliff
