Truck flips during police chase

- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and McLoud Police Department were involved in a chase Monday May, 11 2020.
It is unknown where the chase started, but at one point, the driver was traveling westbound on I-40 from McLoud. The chase continued westbound into Midwest City near Reno and Douglas.
The truck was eventually sent into the barrier on westbound I-40 by a pit maneuver by a Highway Patrolman, but then kept on going.
Our sister-station, KFOR in Oklahoma City, was following this developing story with crews on the air and the ground. KFOR’s news chopper was over the end of the chase that ended with two arrests.

In all seriousness, I think he did lose his brakes after that flip. That’s why he was signaling them and used the grass to stop.
Good thing the traffic barrier was there, they didn’t hit oncoming traffic.

In many cases, if a pursued driver crashes into something or someone, the cops are held accountable, as if THEY crashed or as if it's THEIR CHOICE that the driver submits to not stop at their signals.

I think the police were staying out of harms way. It seemed to me that the closest cars were in in a spot that would have been difficult for the driver to shoot at, if the driver chose to shoot. No need to rush.

Said right in the video that the truck was a jacked up 4-wheeler and they had no line of site into the cab. Driver would be looking down on them. If he had a gun, very easily shoot down into the squad.

The truck broke down almost immediately after and it couldn't go beyond 20 mph. Likely all messed up and stuck in gear or something.
