  • This video is a lot more exciting. We will go through all the possible loose connections for the Shunt DC Motor. One of them causes the motor to completely loose speed control and the motor takes off.

Excellent! Clear, concise, easy to understand!

Good explanation. Try moving the brush position about a half inch to the left. Now pull the shunt lead while running. It will first reverse then runaway. Any explanation?😊

Series winding opens = Shunt motor characteristics
Shunt winding opens = Series motor characteristics
Line connections open = motor comes to a stop

How wuld you actualy contol such action ? Wuld resistors save the rotor and brushes? Ore capacitors?

how wuld a generator starter set up look like? haveing same device doing bouth useing the brushes to control functions. how wuld capacitors effect that device? there are some mith's about those engines like loockridge device, teslas methode of conversion etc
So Im wondering how dry cell baterrys wuld react? so any info about those old system's? Im useing actualy plazma ignition and amplifier ignition as well so Im wondering if that culd by implemented in those devices? I try to understand peater linderman but hes not realy usefull realy considering the back emf problem. We dont realy see any solid state circuet the explanation not realy present. Those tri filar coils confuse my.

Cool demonstration! How did you know when to unplug (since this seems to be a school's expensive equipment), and what would you do if you didn't unplug in time to save the machine?
...why are all these guys writing "wuld' in the comments? What's up with that? Bots? Foreign spies? 14 years old? Or can some engineering students just not spell? 😸

As soon as it takes off we turn off the breaker. If you didn't disconnect on time, the bearings would heat up and the motor would fail within minutes.
