    He was probably expecting all of his consciousness to go into the man and the elk to be left as a normal animal who wouldn't be hurt by any of this but that isn't what happened

      Which is why you don't skip straight to centaur trials! You continue with the fruit/vegetaurs until you're sure that they all turn out the same way, then you move onto centaur testing!

      remember when he first testes the thing out, and made a radish and a baby? what if the radish was also conscious?

      He didn’t realize his consciousness wasn’t tied to only a piece of him. He wanted to separate the animal and the human PHYSICAL aspects of himself; but his personality isn’t related to his body and appearance. Since both physical traits are part of him, ARE HIM, his personality didn’t favor a side. It merely copied into both versions.
      It was never a case of “his wild side” vs “his cold side”, it was a case of “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The version of Elktaur that got want he wanted wasn’t going to give up that taste of success, much less when he amassed actual power as a General and then a person of royalty. He became corrupted from “getting what he wanted”. The Elktaur that got cursed to a more restrained form got corrupted slower, later, by abuse and trauma. But *both corruptions resulted in pursuing a war where neither cared about the lives of others,* and they were going to manipulate and destroy to whatever extent necessary until they gained the controlling hand over the other version. They really were (what’s the line...?) “the same person in two bodies”

      I thought they were the same person and the whole point was u feel bad for one due to the fact he had the lower end of the stick but if he was human he would have been the same asshole cuz they were one and the same.

      He split his PHYSICAL (appearance) body exactly how he wanted, but his Mentality (psyche) was placed in the wrong bodies as “punishment” for “playing god” with himself.
      The mind of a beast was put into the human half, hence its barbaric/animalistic nature, and the humane/humanity was put into the beast’s body, like it’s “appreciation” for food, it was intelligent enough to know why it tasted good (even the garbage), it had an OPINION, where as an “animal” would think to care, it would just eat whatever and only know otherwise if offered by a human, like if you offer a stray dog a piece of bacon everyday, it’ll eventually stop foraging for scraps and just go to you for food.
      Probably why he went from eating beignets to garbage, his mind was slowly turning more “animalistic” he probably realized this and called his human half tried to that swamp to tell him, only for him to trap him in the dungeon.”

    I love how the NW king managed to make both sides of the key’s power terrifying. On on end, he forcefully and permanently altered terrified creatures to bend to his will, but on the other he’s doing this because he unintentionally ripped his conscious in two. To watch his other half live the life he always wanted while he unknowingly gave up his remaining dignity/humanity. Before he had to fight just to be respected after what happened in the rift he had to fight to be recognized as a living being.

    Just imagine how both of them felt. The General ended up exactly how he expected it and got what he wanted, until he learned that the Elk's sentient too. And Elk had to live with the reality that he literally became what he wanted to get rid of, while someone else got what he wanted, the life he could have had.

      He didn’t really think it through. When he tested it before, he got a vegetable and a baby. What he didn’t consider was how he was different to the test run. If he split the two sides, it’d be into two animals.

      @JacklynBurn Před rokem +1

      @@_kaleido I mean, it potentially could have, if not for
      the fact that the disfigured version of Robot had died. The twins were concerned when they realized that side *did* survive, until they noticed it wasn't gonna be for long. It seems like the General had the same idea, but was less fortunate in that both versions die together or live together without exception.
