Great to hear the elusive ITV Racing theme almost in full. I've been trying to find a copy of it for years. Another brilliant upload Mr Perry and team

Another gem. The cardboard ads are always a joy, particularly for the likes of Supermac where my late mum shopped.
As a child I always fancied myself as the next Joanne Woods or Barbara Palmer but that evidently wasn't to be 😄

I seem to remember reading they went to a different type of work away from TV, Barbara went to some form of nursing

It’s good to see Australian Len Evans, one of our wine connoisseurs making an appearance on UKTV

Interesting that the abbreviation “UTV” was in use in the title of the programme “UTV Profile” as early as 1976.

'UTV Reports' from 1969 pre-dates this.
Some parts of the media (mainly Catholic ones) used the abbreviation right from the start.

The Collaborators looks interesting, I'll have to see if that is available on CZcams. I like that bell on ITV news after every upcoming segment. Watching from the U.S.

It's the chimes of Big Ben. When the News at Ten was first broadcast, footage of Big Ben was transmitted live over the opening titles. The sound engineer forgot to fade the OB sound down so the newsreader in the studio announced the News headlines to the chimes of Big Ben. This mistake turned out to be liked by producers who kept the chimes in for future broadcasts, turning it into a TV icon.

Whicker was one of the longest serving travelling journalists but unfortunately we will miss him on British Television.

Must be one of Alastair Burnet's first news bulletins since returning from the BBC? Didn't realise he was back doing News at Ten so soon? Presumably just standing in for Reggie, Sandy or Leonard, as I think he was doing the 5:45 usually when he first rejoined?
