Interesting choice of trailer for UFO being shown on Ulster Television, in 1974 during the height of the Troubles.
Fabulous find from my region I believe the earliest I've seen for UTV.
Apart from the fader clonking and the flicker of channel network switching, Ulster’s output was impressively slick!
Also apart from cutting to ITN a second too late, allowing the second hand a sloppy extra tick from 00 to 01. And what's going on with that clock mechanism? The second hand moves backwards ever so slightly immediately after each tick.
I love the Co-op advertising the cost of living.
Great to see the old adverts and Reggie too
Harry Fowler advertising the Co-op!
I believe that is the late Guy Blackmore reading the book anno from Thames in his somewhat-refined Aussie accent.
I think it is Guy Blackmore - sounding a good deal more formal than usual.
I think the Fruit'n'nut advert is the first tv memory i have besides the clangers and stingray
This is an excellent find!
I believe that was Frank Muir, of the pink bowtie, doing the VO for the Cadbury's ad...
That's right.
Was this recorded on u-matic or the Philips VCR format as the VHS was about a decade away from being mainstream
Wednesday 3rd April 1974.
Captain obvious
The jingle for C&C Lemonade sounds like the jingle creation from Charlie Harper (Two & a half Men) for the anime show Oshikuru! 🤭🤣
Open used from 1969 - 1974
No idea wtf
@@solojinglesradio1 I’m talking about the ITN NEWS AT TEN opening
Has anyone got the original break bumpers for UFO?
Dependant upon what software you are using, you may be able to remove the lines of interference from the image. But beyond this, a great find. A bit of history !!
