These are 2 outstanding artists but the extra X factor is the chemistry of what is clearly an enduring deep friendship between Anita Meyer and Lee Towers. Whoever suggested they sing this as a duet for one of Towers' live shows back in 1986 must've known something because it ended up a major hit ........ and still retains its magic decades later.
In the eighties, I was a big fan of Lee Towers and Anita Meyer (still am) and was almost every concert Lee Towers did in "Ahoy" Rotterdam present. The concerts were always glamorous. In one of these concerts Anita was a guest singer. They sung this song together. It was a dream come true for me. So Inge, thanks for the request and Highly for the great reaction. 😍

Couldn't help thinking about a clip I saw a couple of months ago. Betty Everett en Jetty Butler singing Let it be me. Clip made decades after they recorded the song. That clip was touching to see.

Lee Towers was the first one who sold out a complete arena in Rotterdam called Ahoy, He was invited to come to las Vegas, Becouse off his show.He did not go.. loved his land and place. Check him out.. you will lovr him.. ;ike the Toppers concerts
It was in Ahoy Rotterdam where also the Eurovision was, there can be 16.500 people in it. At that time it was the biggest venue, i think Suzette knows that as well if i am right. And now we have the Ziggodome here in Amsterdam where 17.500 people can go in.
