【イントロダクション】
「……絶対に、俺は神銀（ミスリル）になる」
その決意を胸に冒険者になって早十年。レントは地道に剣の腕を磨き、知識を蓄え、冒険者組合（ギルド）へ貢献しながらも銅級下位のまま。それでも毎日のように迷宮に潜り、努力を続けていた。そんな中、低位迷宮《水月の迷宮》で未踏破区域を発見するが、そこで遭遇した《龍》に喰われてしまう。
命運尽き果てたと思われたレントだが、何故か意識を取り戻した――最弱の魔物・スケルトンとして。それでも絶望に陥ることなく己にできることを模索するレント。手始めに魔物の特性である《存在進化》を利用して上位の魔物を目指し、人間に戻る道を探すことに。
不死者（アンデッド）となったレントは、再び神銀級冒険者を目指す。

【Introduction】
“… I’m gonna be a Mythril, no matter what!”
Ten years have passed since Rentt first made that vow. Ten years spent polishing his skills with the blade, studying lore, and helping out at the adventurer’s guild, but he’s still only Bronze rank. Still, every day he delves into the dungeon and gives it his all. And then one day, when exploring an unknown area of a beginner dungeon called the “Watermoon Labyrinth,” he is eaten by a dragon.
He thinks his life is over, but instead awakens to find himself in the form of a skeleton, the weakest monster of all. Instead of giving into despair, though, he starts to think about what he can do to change his fate. He uses the monster’s power of “existence evolution” to try and get stronger and stronger, and one day become human once more.
Rentt, now an undead, resumes his journey to become a Mythril rank adventurer.

This anime is really bittersweet. What happened to Rentt is depressing. He wasn't very strong but he did whatever he could to help other adventurers when they were starting out. Showed them the ropes and took on all of the low level jobs to work his way up to mithril rank. Seeing him come back to the guild after his death and everyone is worried about where he went, if he's alive or dead... it's just so sad. Love this show.
EDIT: I bought the first 3 volumes of the Light Novel and you get a better understanding of Rentt's character and how truly appreciated by the people at the guild and how missed he was when he never came back, everyone wishing for his return but knowing deep down that he's probably dead because he was never that strong and it's the fate of most low level adventurers to die on a quest.... The LN is so fucking good I love this anime I'm buying all 12 volumes.

阿部真央さんの「ふりぃ」と「モットー」という曲に昔、衝撃を受けたのでぜひ聞いてほしい。この繊細な曲とは真逆の、強さを感じる曲。
彼女は本当に良い曲がたくさん。
作品の感じとマッチしてて控えめに言って最高！

Damn this ending so is just too good. I like this kind of soft music. This song reminds me of Vinland Saga first ending song 「 Torches」. They're kinda hear similar. I know the singer is not the same but the music is kinda similar.
Now this song 「 Keep your fire burning」 is in my playlist .

Now this is the type of melancolic anime song i like.
I read the novel a long time ago, I think it was 2017 or 2018. The story has a special place in my heart.
The ending song is very fitting. Even though the story is a dark fantasy, it is actually pretty chill in its own way.

This songs fits too well with Rentt. A pitiful existence he now has to live, not knowing if he'll be human anymore, but yet there's a bit hope in the song. Hope he'll finally achieve his dreams this time around, while touching the heart's of everyone he'll meet and help.

I love this song...This is so serene, peaceful and calming. Mao Abe's voice, The guitar, The bgm and The lyrics. showing us the journey of Rentt with Edel and his friends and lastly Lorraine. i was awestruck by the beautiful melody and calmness of this song. as it felt like i laid down on an open field of grass as fresh breeze of air passing through me as i look up in the sky. and the voice feels like someone telling me everything gonna be alright. This song is so much inspiring its beautiful. Really love the guitar intro and outro.
Baby keep your fire burning felt like saying to Rentt to keep going on until you become human once again. I still remember it in my mind when this was playing at the last episode and Lorraine says.
"Welcome home, Rentt Faina"
That scene made me cry. it matched the scene so beautifully. Love this song...Easily one of the best ending of 2024.

Reading it in the manga, that panel was actually very sad. To see Lorraine finally accepting that her Rent is not the exact same person anymore after being bitten (that specific manga panel after that image in 1:14 shows her sadness there).
