I honestly feel like Red's character in this film works really well for what the film is trying to go for. The film is clearly trying to be a prequel of sorts to the games (a philosophy they dropped for the second film because they clearly didn't care by that point-) Obviously this is shown through red meeting the others for the first time, meeting the pigs for the first time, and of course, Leonard, also known as King Mudbeard, who, in the lore of the games, is the father of the present day King Smoothcheeks, the king pig in the games. (This is real, read the world of angry birds official guide I am not joking-) All of this is to say that the film portrays red as a much younger character than his game self, one that doesn't have a flock of birds to support him, one that feels lonelier, more isolated from the rest of the world. And yet, he desires friends, he desires community, but because his bullies have gotten in his head, he feels like everyone else is out to get him. That could explain his paranoia in the games. Even now, red carries that sense of distrust over the world around him. Only now, he HAS found a sense of community, he has his flock, who he very clearly loves, even if he expects too much from them at times. And suddenly, the fear of losing that family he worked hard for is heightened, resulting in frequent paranoia over their safety and the eggs. (Yes Red is my favourite character in all of fiction leave me alone-)

@@thatoneguy6478 no it's the other way around. The analogy starts with the 1853 forced opening of Japan where the residents of a mountainous island (Japan) are forced to partake in an abusive trade relationship with a far more technologically advanced civilianization of cowboys in armed warships. Eventually, following the ending of trade relations with the cowboy people whose continued vending of a resource held exclusively by the cowboy people had allowed the island people to enjoy a more prosperous lifestyle (the resource was oil for Japan, and technologies for the birds), the island people use a weapon originally created by the cowboy people for peaceful means (the plane in Japan and the sling for the birds) to launch a surprise aerial attack on an island city. It's not a perfect analogy but it is interesting.

I remember as a kid that i absolutely love the first one because I was a major fan of the angry birds franchise, I love story because it feels like an origin story that could have been canon. I love the reference from past games that scattered around in the films, from from Stella’s flock (expected Luca) to the carts from angry birds go. This feels like everything that I want in an angry birds movie. The sequel ruined did ruined for me and because it feels like a “James bond” kids movie instead of a worthy successor. I don’t mind if the birds and pigs doing a truce, but I wanted to pull it off a better or have the theme of “trusting an enemy” be a major part of the story. And I still can’t shake off silver’s character being from “she crazy cuz she was raised by the pigs and has a neutral relationship with the” to… the smart one. I think the other reviewer was picking up on the right themes, but got too specific. I see the movie telling a story of Red questioning society itself, and being wary of changes instead of following the pack. I personally don't mind that the pigs are friends in the sequel, because there's nothing wrong with Red/society accepting things after a while. The story still stands; if Red hadn't been suspicious in the first movie, the pigs still would have stolen the eggs. It's important to keep your eyes open and question things. You may decide that everything is fine, but if you don't question things, you can never be sure. edit: Oh, and part of the "too literally" bit is that he took the pigs for representations of immigrants, when I think they're representations of new things in general. Often villains are characterizations of concepts or parts of life, not literal people. edit 2: Also, Red's isolation arc reflects this. Red thinks being an outcast is lonely, but he uses his outsider perspective to doubt the pigs. In the end, he learns that he doesn't need to fit in, he needs to let others accept him as he is. He doesn't need to be a follower to be supported.

I would really disagree if you’re saying that Sonic movie was bad or something, but I totally agree that Angry Birds movie 1 was underrated as hell, it was full of magic. But the second one felt like it’s what they would make when they run out of ideas, it wasn’t THAT bad but it really wasted the potential. alright back to bed grandma
Man this has to be the most visionary video I have seen in a while
I could hear the thought process before you even uttered a word
You def got a new subscriber in me buddy
I love when the mighty eagle said it’s flying time and rickrolled all the people in the theater
I think the battle cry part was the best, and when Mighty eagle responded to it was peak
The "I would be in an insane asylum if the movie was that bad" defence might not be as effective as you think, but great video :D
That video at the end reminds me that people actually believe the joke theory that Bugsnax is a Bible allegory.
Ive actually watched this movie about 20 times as well. I'm not kidding. I was typing this while listening to the video and had to add the "as well" part cause you said you did as well. Not to mention meeting a fellow angry birds fan in the wild is rare. We're like jedi post order 66.
The tik tok slop was surprising
I would really disagree if you’re saying that Sonic movie was bad or something, but I totally agree that Angry Birds movie 1 was underrated as hell, it was full of magic. But the second one felt like it’s what they would make when they run out of ideas, it wasn’t THAT bad but it really wasted the potential. I was like: “Why does the Blues have a different mom, were they even the Blues?”
You need to make a Bee Movie video. For too long i thought I was the only person who saw the genius in that film.

"I am a sigma."
-Leonard, Angry Birds Movie
finally actual based content, you don't see that too often these days
2:56 Knowing that she’s called Gale has finally paid off.
I remember the war that happend in the last of 2023 when watching this ,it is too similar
I knew this day would come ❤
The Angry birds movie warn us about mass muslim and chinese refugees/immigrants
No, it warns us about swine-flu infected pigs trying to eat eggs from cartoon birds with superpowers on a dvd disc
I think it's a story shiting on colonizers
As I was Angry Birds fan
all the fans are dislike the Angry Birds movie 2, they like the first film
because the sequel has an issue film, all fans didn't like it film (some of them do)
I'm really looking forward to seeing the Angry Birds Movie 3, (which is I feel hype) I'm really hopefully rovio doesn't screw up again (like they did deleted apps and franchise)
