I have only heard him this morning for the first time.
I have now elected Tom Ball as possessing the most beautiful and pure voice I have heard in all my 70 years.
But when he adds range, technique, and above all, sheer genuine passion for what he sings, well, this guy's a world beater.
Plus, he is utterly likeable.
Hiw did he not win?! Honestly, he conveys such emotion and reaches such high notes!

Dear Sir, (Mr Ball ) I am now 53 years old (today actually lol) ... My technical drawing teacher was the biggest man I've ever seen, to this day, he was huge. He , before he became a teacher was in the Welsh Guards. He was strict, he was stoic , and my god you didn't piss about in his class! I was in a mixed secondary school and he would tolerate no shenanigans from the boys. It always made me laugh, they all thought they could get one over on him. Nope! They're two things I remember about him, his sense of humour ( which I now know was questionable with young teenagers!) but, most importantly his voice. This man could rumble mountains, when he sang I felt lifted up inside. My saddest memory was when his wife died. We walked into class and I said c'mon Sir, what are you singing today? In all my life I've never heard such beauty sung like he did that day, he broke my heart, no idea what the song was, it was in Welsh, but we all felt it. His voice , his pain, I can't even begin to describe. No TD was done that day, we all sat around him on the floor in a circle and just gave him love. Even the boys. That was the first time I'd ever seen a man cry. It's a memory I will cherish forever. Not many teachers to my recollection got that kind of love and respect. Mr McGuire, Sir. You were a legend. Mr Ball, Sir...This is what you took me back to. I don't care you didn't win, irrelevant. You got this teach...;) go for it xxxx

It was much more than just talent - there are all kinds of singers with talent. This guy had a polished and totally flawless vocal technique. And having studied and majored in voice as a music major in college, I should know flawless vocal technique when I see it.

Just found out about Tom Ball from his 'Sound of Silence' performance and it led me to this video. Omg this guy is a superstar... That last note put me in a coma đ€Ż. Like out of nowhere, such an incredibly hard note to hit and he does it as if he was God singing himself lol. What the actual... Blew my mind, what a performance. Man I can't believe he didn't win. I'll have to get caught up on the other performers but man, just wow... Literally the perfect performance, I'm blown away by that. Hope he pursues a career in singing or having a lead roll in Broadway or something, he's absolutely destined to be a superstar in that career path.
