It looks great but it isn't that safe, honestly I prefer a non smart helmet like xnito or bern thousand but have the peace of mind that they'll do their job
The first Lumos helmet had turn signals in the front too. This set it appart from all other helmets that have turn signals. The ultra does not have that which seems like a step back.
Great review. I wonder those driver who are not cyclist themselves or do not know about Lumos, will they understand or notice the blinking directional lights. Have you encounter such scenario so far?
Good question, I was hoping to answer this in my review but due to limited resources I couldn't. Since the turn signal on the helmet look similar to its motor vehicle counterparts, I think drivers should understand - whether or not they give way is another story haha! In my experience drivers do give way after I turn on the signals, but I'm not sure if it's entirely because of the helmet. Let me know what you think if you see one on the road!
Great review & thanks for sharing. One thing I noticed is when I synced the helmet with the upgraded remote the other round remote wouldn't sync with the helmet anymore. I own multiple bikes so I wanted to use both remotes for two different bikes, but the round remote doesn't work anymore. No big deal for me because I don't see much of use for turn signals anyways from either remote. The app is much more useful anyways.
check for bugs..when blinks are working not brakelight,the helmet never turn off its just goes to stand by,thats ehy the battery drain,try this press to close,until bips, then short click and then switch option with the button,you will see that is never turned off,also when braking or blinks the front light yurns on whyyyyy??and for the end can you give me the boost code cause i lost it lol..
I just got mine today. Have to email the Lumos via the email, reply to any of the email from them and they response within a day. Share whatever info they need to pull out the Kickstarter funding info
it´s a shame. you can't change the visor glass without damage the Helmet!? see on indicar, Formula 1, Superbike, AND the normal private biker....all this are laughing about Lumos high end engineering 🙂
I hate all these newer bike helmets I don't see how it will protect you in a crash when it's sitting above your head unless you crash in a way you land directly on the top your head it's just going to get knocked out the way. almost 99% of the time you're going to hit the very back your head or on the side. I guess if you're getting these helmets to protect you from getting knocked stupid it doesn't matter because your already dumb enough to think this will prevent injury anyways.
These helmets are actually almost about accident prevention by being noticed more in taffic and making it clearer to other traffic participants what your intentions are. Of course they also give protection but no protection system is perfect.

Yea for some reason it only pairs with 1 remote but it's not a deal-breaker for me.
