I wish the na’vi looked more like the pandoran animals than the sky people.
James Cameron must really love The Philippines and based the Slinger on the myth of the Filipino monsters named Mananganals, who detaches their waist and upper body to fly looking for prey while it's legs stand in a hidden place like a statue of a person's legs, crotch, and hips.
It then reataches it's upper body at the waist to it's locked standing hips and legs before sunrise-it's a Filipino mythology monster that eats people but looks, acts, and eats like a regular popular local girl/woman during the day. Unlike the Slinger it does not look or act like a radiatioactive explosion mutant alien monster with six legs crawling around like a tarantula.
If Avatar Reckoning releases, will you do a second part?
@@dastark_3024 Avatar Reckoning is already being played by some people these days
@@mypanexogamouslineage965 I'm very excited for its release
Hey there, one of the creature designers from Way of Water here. Just wanted to say... this was pretty cool! (Also a Skimwing's wingspan is a little over 14 meters, but can vary slightly depending on the individual)
OMGGG you are sooooooo cool 🤩🫣🫣, I love your art creations 🫣🤭
Thank you so much, that means a lot coming from the lead creature designer of Avatar: The Way of Water. Love your work! Also, thank you for providing the measurements for the Skimwing's wingspan!
awesome
Your work is appreciated! Avatar has been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid!
Omg you’re awesome
What I find interesting about the Prolemuris is the fact that it shows how their four upper limbs fuse together and separate up to the elbows, showing that this is also how the Na'vi possibly lost two of their limbs by their bones fusing. A somewhat similar evolutionary path.
Exactly what I was thinking.😮
Probably to compensate for the increase in brain capacity, they lose more of the “useless” part of their body, kinda like how we lost our tail and our bodily strength
how would na’vi get hair tbh??
@@SordidusFellatiowe didn’t haven’t had tails for a very very long time we aren’t monkeys if that is what you had in mind plus we traded strength for the ability of more precise muscle control in order to be more intricate (ie making tools) we have limiters on our muscles pretty much to avoid injury (adrenaline can remove most of the limiter)
Doesn’t explain the nose
My favorite animal on Pandora will always be the Toruk due to its beautiful color and basically looking like a dragon, but I love that the Tulkun looks sort of like a whale but with crustacean characteristics (like the armor plating). I also like that they're so intelligent that they can communicate with Na'vi through language, and that the Metkayina consider them to be people (because, I mean, if the tulkun are literally smarter than humans and have their own language, philosophy and songs I think it's safe to call them 'people').
This is my evening entertainment 1 hour and 30 mins thank you Bryce you legend.
If you are enduring the full hour and a half tonight, you have my respect
@@BryceEdwardBrownI personally call the ilu the “pandoran waterhorse”
Thank you for talking about this, I tried to talk to my family about how these animals would fit in the environment but none of them listened to me 😭
This is absolutely incredible, so much work and detail went into this. We all appreciate it so much, keep up the avatar videos 😊
James Cameron: so, ya know how a kangaroo grows a baby in its pouch? I'd really like to make a predator like that.
Artist: interesting, that'll be pretty cool.
JC: except I want the baby to basically be carried on the head.
Artist: alright... so like a pocket in front of, or behind the neck?
JC: well actually inside the neck... because the child is the head, connected to the parent-body by the tsaheylu bond. So you have 2 animals... one is blind with no way to eat, but it can hear and move and stuff... and the other can see and eat, but has no way to move, so it's a perfect symbiotic relationship.
Artist: Sir?
JC: oh, one last thing... in order to hunt, the head detaches itself from the body, and the body launches it at the prey where it injects heaping amounts of venom into the unsuspecting animal. Then the child/head calls for the mother/body, who can silently home in on the signal.
Artist: ???...???... this one goes in the Fandom wiki, right?
This comment needs way more thumbs up 😅
😊
at first, I was like freaking 1 hour and a half?!?? and then I proceed to binge watch the whole thing and got amazed by the details. Thank you so much for the effort and work you put into this. really appreciate your dedication, you deserved so much more recognitions!!!
All these avatar videos are amazing it doesnt get appreciated enough
Thank you so much @joshisasjoshdoes8760!
We need a nature doc on Pandora, but narrated by David Attenborough xd
I'm here for it

Fish Are Friends Not Food- Nalutsa
Can’t tell you how fast I clicked this video! I’ve been waiting for someone to make one like this for so long.
your na’vi pronunciation has improved so much
Thank you 💙
I think the star beak is based more on lion fish, which have similar looking fins, so they rely on their bright colours and venom to avoid being eaten.
The Skimwing is looks to be inspired by an alligator gar and flying fish.
It’s kind of ironic that the Ilu were depicted as plesiosaurs that act like dolphins, since fossil plesiosaurs would have filled similar niches to cetaceans today, minus the sonar.
knowing how massive the creatures of pandora are. i kinda expected to see something similar to the reefbacks from subnautica, or a massive living island (search up images for the island reefback as an example). but then again, the planet is technically already alive.
If any of the creature designers from these films are still looking at this video. I personally would like to say something I've wanted to say for years. Thank you. The wildlife and people of Pandora have always been and will always continue to be a source of inspiration for me. They are the reason why If I were given the option to cybernetically or surgically augment my biological body for free, I would want a second pair of arms, a second pair of eyes, and a tail. But, the exact form I take would be dependent on the amount of time it would take, and the amount of creative liberty I had opposed against the risk it my pose to my continued ability to live.
My favorite part was the volcano footage.
Mine too
Bryce realizing that he'll have to make a part 2 part 3 and maybe part 4
I was just saying how much I would love a documentary of the animals + plants of Pandora and here you are with this! Absolutely made my day! Thank you for working and sharing this with us after 3 months of work/research!
At around 1:29:00, the Na'vi throwing kids into water at such a young age is actually something we do too! babies can inherently float and making sure they don't lose the ability to turn on their backs so they can breath has to be done young. Doing this also helps prevent children from drowning! Even if swimming isn't kept up as we grow, that basic instinct stays with us!
Please don't throw your babies into water without a swim teacher or other professional present, some kids don't grasp it as quick as others and an un-diagnosed learning disability that isn't prepared for can lead to death or severe damage.
The more you now✨
There's no reason to fear the Slinger, because it makes no sense!
1. What if the Slinger misses when it throws the child and it flies down the cliff or inside the powerful jaws of another animal?
2. What if the prey crushes and kills the child while in panic or defense mode?
3. What if some children are born stillborn, sick or deformed? They've doomed their parents to die!
4. How are Slingers making sure they won't die out due to inevitable accidents? Every parent can only carry one child for a head, and the previous parents most likely die of starvation before they can give birth to new patch of kids. With every accidental death the populations shrinks down, which kills the whole kind overall in the long run.
Maybe if this creature was like a Hydra or Medusa, it could have multiple heads/children to carry, which would give it wriggle room in case if they lose some due to the accidents. Also, what if the parents keep few of their children until they produce new clutch?
This level of lore is the reason why this franchise is worth billions.
It's so rad!
1:09:21 I'd call it a Silkfin
also I'd call the Otter a Selkidomus and the Squid a Canary Squid
I absolutely adore the amount of work and effort that has gone into every one of your avatar videos!!! They mean a lot to me and I really love that you go above & beyond for every video :) I love the amount of detail in every creature, even when it's not strictly about the creature itself!! The backstory behind taming an Ikran was especially interesting- I thought it was so cool that each rider handmakes their own harness for their banshee
I have a feeling that Kiri is gonna become the next Toruk Makto considering her strong connection with Eywa.
This really surprised me in the best way. It's informative and entertaining, almost like you're talking about real animals, but it's also hilarious. I imagine it took a long time to make this, so thanks for the work, I've subscribed!
I loved the video! You explained things so well I never thought I would pay max atention for 1h 30' and 25"! You also made It entertainig with your comments. I enjoyed It a lot, good job ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👋👋👋
My gosh this is amazing, I can't imagine how long it took to put this together with the research, filming, illustrations and editing! What I really want is basically a documentary with a Na'vi David Attenborough to take us through Pandora and explain all the creatures, and have several seasons for different regions and everything. But they'll never allocate the budget to something like that, so your video is definitely the next best thing.
Also, great structure, the habitat and food chain organisation is super fluid and flows naturally. Your humour is also nice and keeps it from being to descriptive and sterile. Thank you for your hard work, I'll definitely revisit this every now and then!
IVE NEVER CLICKED A NOTIF SO FAST I LOVE THESE AVATAR VIDEOS OMFG
I APPRECIATE YOU!
Now that the Avatar Frontier of Pandora is out you have a lot more animals you can explore. Luckily a lot of them already have descriptions
My favourite one is the great leonopteryx /toruk
Solid choice!
Did anybody notice the fan lizards were doing that thing ballerinas do to not get dizzy? Like turning their heads on a fixed point
The Tipani Armor of is Atlas beetle .
You gotta update it now with all the frontiers of pandora stuff there are so many new creatures to see in detail
When i saw the length of this video I literally GASPED! 😲 bruhhhh!!! Kudos to you holy crap.
Haha I'm so happy to hear that, so glad to have your support!
It took me a week to watch this. Awesome job, by the way! You might want to split it up. Maybe do videos of land, air, and water animals separately. There is a huge animal added to the Avatar Frontiers of Pandora that I can't remember if you said anything about them? But, it seems new, so maybe there's nothing about them added to the books or internet?
OMG!!!Thank you!I’ve always been fascinated by the rainforests on Pandora but never found something so specific and expansive about the creatures
Thank you for not wasting my time this was absolutely lovely to watch. I’am so hyper fixated on Avatar’s world this information is an absolute blessing, thank ya 😊
Haha glad I could waste your time! 💙
I needed this! Thank you for making this! 😋I also keep trying to compare the size of these animals to myself 😭And the slinger...
I CAN'T EVEN with the Slinger
@@BryceEdwardBrown the hellfire wasp is honestly worse
I mean panthers are known to hole punch caiman into the after life
I just want to know one thing. Where do the navi get feathers for the fletching on the arrows???
Probably from bird feathers that come off or hunting them
From birds, you can't find birds in the books but there are words for them in the na'vi language
37:58 i wish disney DID make breather packs that you could buy/ disposable breather masks to make the ride just a bit more realistic
Omg thank you so much for this video break down of all the creatures and wildlife of pandora Bryce, you have no idea how much this means to me!! ❤️❤️❤️
“When this walking deli sandwich is constantly getting attacked” really got me 😂😅
now i want to see you tackle the flora of pandora.
I loved this!! Thank you!! I would honestly LOVE a flora version of this! The plant life is just as if not more imaginative and incredible!
Hopefully I can make something about that soon! 💙
The Hexapede looks so beautiful to me!
Fun fact: in 2106 I’ll be 100 years old which is quite close to when avatar films took place
I swear I'll probably just around the jungle admiring the artistry and realism, for the first 2 hours, like I did when Crysis first came out.
Thank you so much for this video! I just started a fanfic following a xenozoologist, and this is an incredible resource for all their expertise I need to write, and all in one place too! Thank you so much!
I loved this video, would love to see a part two with the addition of the fauna from frontiers of pandora
35:19 it may have also been sleeping nearby and woken up by all the noise the hammerhead was making.
Thank for posting another video of Avatar. I think your the best youtuber who does Avatar vids. I know the Tsu’Tey vid didn’t get that many views but its nice to see you still upload.
Auto correct made it ever instead of best
Thank you so much, that's so nice of you to say!
Now i need an hour long video on pandoran botany
I think I know why the Nalutsa don't eat fish; it's because they saw Finding Nemo and the shark scene, "fish are friends, not food"
"night vision helps you see at night, because it gives you night vision to help you see at night." -bryce
edit: "ruining their invisibleness by making them visible again" -bryce
This is an incredible resource, thank you so much for making this. Can I convince you to do one of these on the plants/fungi/corals as well?
make a new one now that frontiers of pandora realised, I need more information, I'm craving for it lol
I seriously find it hard to believe that with the absolute batshit insane genetic engineering abilities humans have displayed in Avatar that they can't just clone amrita.
This video is well done. You earned my subscription with your quality work
I've watched all your videos and this has to be my 3rd favorite...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 😁😁😁
im so glad you do what you do cause i had no idea about most of this stuff and the hunger games video was good cause i didnt know much aboout that either
Hi! I was wondering if you would ever make a new video about the new creatures from frontiers of pandora that you didn't cover, I really loved this video!
I love how the main lyal wainfleet is the main predator for so many of these
You should do one about all the plants on Pandora!
Soon!
One question I have, is what do all the animals actually use their quid neural connection body part for? The nav’ii use them, but the animals on pandora wouldn’t have evolved them specifically to connect with other species. The only explanation I can think of, is that they are all capable of connecting to ports throughout the environment, for what? Sensory information? Maybe they connect when sleeping to fulfill some sort of neural function. Similar to dreaming. Casting aside that it’s just fiction, maybe the purpose is just too alien for earth apes to understand fully.
This is brilliant thankyou been looking for a vedio like this for awhile
This is probably my favorite video on CZcams
19:58 me when I have a 700 word essay and I’m running out of words
Listening to this like i have an exam tomorrow on the subject. All so fascinating.
this is so great!! thanks!
I can’t wait for the directors cut of all 5 movies when he’s done
Vi el video completo mientras jugaba kerbal space program, realmente sacaba mi atencion de ahi numerosas veces la cantidad de datos imprecionantes que tiene la luna de pandora. exelente video
Lmaooo am I the only one that chuckled at the rocket ship slinger child shooting out of the parents head at @29:58
finally i found this video, for the first time i watch avatar i wonder about the animals biology.. and i feel fantastic thinking about it 😊
My favorite Animals of Pandora is:
1. Ikran.
2. Palulukan.
3. Prolemuris.
4. Hammerhead Titanothere.
5. Fan Lizards.
6. Ilu.
7. Tulkun.
8. Dire Horse.
9. Great Leonoptryx.
10. Tetrapteron.
Solid list!
Wow, to say I loved that video is an understatement. The way how much time You spent on doing research for every animal is outstanding. You also made sure to use moth metric systems and used them interchangeably which is at least so important, as it doesn't make anyone feel left out. Your prononuciation is also beautiful and shows how much heart You put into this video, and when You didnt know something You simply admitted it. And lastly but not least is Your humor which made me laugh numerous times wjile watching it.
Thank You for making this video, which both eductaed Us and brought smile to Our faces
The Skimwings look to be based more on an alligator gar than a crocodilian.
Interesting!
Honestly, I think it would be interesting for you to do one with avatar frontier of pandora
when the game frontiers of pandora comes out will you also be going a video abt the new creatures shown there?
your intro was spot on as a result i subbed
Thank you @msizinhlabathi8161! 💙
Love your vids keep on making them
Will do, thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for your hard work ! That was an amazing video, super fascinating and interesting
This is amazing, I am a zoology and biology geek/nerd and also love science fiction so avatar is just so fascinating to me, I've also done a lot of research on pandora over the past few years just as a form of occupying my adhd. Great video.
Ps: my favorite creature is the banshee/ikran
The moment where you whip out all your books, is such a mood 😂😭
LOL
I just loved that damn space whale. He made me cry
This couldn’t come at a better time, finished all your videos amazing love it!
Yay, that's awesome, thank you!
loved this so much thank you for making it, im a huuuuuge avatar and speculative evolution fan
Almost every animal on Pandora: HA WE HAVE SONGS WE'RE SUPERIOR-
Thanator: ...
Edit: and yes, thanators are my favourite animal on Pandora
So are we gonna get a flora episode next too? :)
Man ! Avatar was already my favourite trans media universe, but you’ve made me appreciate it even more ! Most of those creatures may have been inspired by real animals, they are still beautifully designed with an awesome little bio. Truly an underrated science fiction world !
everything is so huge wth
It's wild when you see the full scale replicas in person too, especially something like the Na'vi and their bow and arrows
I’d say the nalutsa reminds me more of a dunkleosteus! one of my fav marine animals 😊
Me: I can’t watch a movie, that’s too much focus for too long
Also me: *One hour 30 minute video avatar animals.*

@@BryceEdwardBrown nah man YOU ARE! hope to see more avatar vids and more vids in general. Love the channel!

Well, there goes my attenention span for the afternoon. Bravo, sir you have my attention ❤
Fun fact about the reef tick is that u can see them in the water falls near the saggintaria in pandora at disneys animal kingdom
Loved that you mentioned the microparasites! They check you for them at the Disneyworld Ride "Flight of Passage" and if they happen to find any in you, they make sure to clean you up before you link. It's a good bit of immersive world building.
