    3:20 is the critical moment in this video to me. Closing both needles proved my Rovan 29 can start no problems. This info was critical to me, as I don’t like to change plugs and carbs for no reason. Furthermore my engine only idles with the LSN at half a turn out. I know that’s crazy for a Walbro carb. You would think it’s too lean. So either it’s note getting enough air or….? Time for a carb tear down and filter clean I think

      Good Day. I am so very glad I could help.
      If the car smokes a lot, it is as you say- check the fuel first. It should be 40ml oil to 1litre fuel.
      If the fuel is right and it still smokes, then the high end needle is too rich. Close high end 5minute turns at a time until it smokes a little, but if performance changes then go back one turn. Some smoke is good, but not too much smoke.

    Excellent video! I do have a situation with my 5b baja that I just purchased. It sounds like it is tuned correctly but it basically goes from idling & with the slightest touch to the trigger it sounds & acts like its 3/4 throttle. I'm leaning towards either incorrect linkage setup for throttle & brake or incorrect setting with my radio? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

    • @EZR
      @EZR  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi there. The options you mentioned is definitely possible but it is also possible that the intake manifold is loose and everytime you put pressure on it by applying throttle it opens the gap allowing air in and spikes the rpm.

    • @dgmenace73
      @dgmenace73 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @EZR thank you for your fast reply. I had not thought of that, but the loose intake does make total sense. I have the throttle linkage setup to when I give it full throttle with radio, I can still slightly move the throttle with my finger (so the servo isn't under strain). The FlySky GT3C radio, which is not "hacked", I think its setup correctly but not 100% sure. I will check the intake. It's crazy how the buggy will go from sitting idling to what sounds like at least 3/4 throttle....it takes off fish tailing. Lol. Hopefully the intake is loose and can easily be tightened. Thanks for your suggestion.

    • @EZR
      @EZR  Před 10 měsíci

      Hello there. No never. If a 2 stroke gets the right tune you can't flood it in a sense. If you leave the choke on and fill the engine with fuel, you can put the choke off and and keep pulling till it starts. They not as sensitive.

    Hi I installed a brand new 990 carb on a 30cc. Now she won’t start at all it’s like no fuel even getting in to the engine. I have tried everything. Low speed needle 1 1/8th turn and high 1 1/4 turn. What should I do thanks

      I'm running exactly the same at the moment. It's the chokeless one right?
      When I tune a new one I leave the High end on 1%½ and start the Low end at 1turn. Then i give it 5pulls. It no fire then I open the Low end ¼turn and repeat the process. Once you reach 2turns and no fire, then something else is wrong.

      Thanks for getting back to me. And yes it’s the choke less one. So I took it apart blew 10w 40 through every hole. One of the holes was clogged. Put it all back together put it back on the Engine. And bam she fired up That’s a few carbs now I have bought and there has been issues. Thanks again

      @@larryguest6468I’m having carb issues. One of my carbs is blocking air. One of my carbs is blocking fuel. Can you describe what you did more “blow 10w40” through every hole” how did you do this? I do have synthetic motor oil for my motorbike but not sure how to blow oil. Air compressor or what?

      Just apply my base settings I mention in this video but make sure your High end Needle is at least 1&½ then run the first tank half throttle. Done 👍

      @EZR  Před rokem +1

      No. Definitely not. In the last couple years we have found that it makes no difference.
      Only needed thing is to seat the ring with good oil like Castor and run a slow 1st tank to make sure the bearings and seals receive good lube without too much heat.

    My 2 stroke don’t wanna start recently but does once in a while and I’ve tried everything and I’m thinking the spark plug is on the way out. I don’t have a clue on why. Update I got a NGK spark plug worked perfectly now after the first start i let it run to let the spark plug sit in properly if its even needed. I let the tank run through and the following day it don't want to start again I also checked the flywheel and the ignition coil thing and still got charge on pull while electrocuting myself testing it and unflooded the engine to check but once the spark plug is in it don't wont let me pull start it like there is a shit ton of compression build up. I done everything I could think of like holding the throttle while the spark plug is out and pulling the pull start to unflood the engine if it was did that for 10-15 pulls put it all back together and still don't wanna budge. I'm going to order a new carburettor since it has sat for 4 years and it did run perfectly for the first 2 days and is starting to play up since. I also checked the piston and it look perfectly fine. I'm hope-ing the carb is faulty since its not ran for 4 years and I'm guessing it keeps leaking fuel into the engine. Any advice would be grateful.

      @EZR  Před rokem +1

      Spark Plug is #1 to change.
      Then natural wear and tear will have you replacing the piston ring about every 10th tank.
      Also check for dirty filter or carb diaphragm.

      You can push it further with the right oil and mix. Most owners don't even get to 10 tanks. It's a lot of play time.

      If you motor is idling and running but the car does not go forward there is something wrong the clutch or gears.
      Will need to take the clutch bell off to check if everything is still in order.

    • @EZR
      @EZR  Před rokem +1

      Okay, you will have to take the SpurGear(big one) off and see if everything is spinning freely. Check pinion and main gear. If everything is spinning free then your clutch is engaging too high. Either it's too tight or the spring is a high RPM spring.

      It might just be the ring. Best to strip the engine. Check the ring and bearings. Dont swop the bearings if they not wonky. Worn bearings are nice and loose. It normally takes 5x tanks of fuel to get those bearings loose.

      Yeah troubleshooting is very frustrating.
      But if all is good/proper they start very easily.
      If not it's means somethings wrong, carb settings, air leak, bad plug are the most common things. Unfortunately a lot can go wrong with engine to not start or run right
