Here in England we have to take large items to recycling centres to paying for skip hires for companies today to take care of our unwanted items in furnishings and furniture. We used to have fortnightly collection in the sixties when garbage trucks had a large cage trailer behind the truck for large items like sofas or mattresses etc but now it’s the recycling centre and taking care of taking it yourself or hiring someone else to take care of your rubbish etc. seeing how American people just stack up their unwanted rubbish by the roadside and garden waste the same. That ain’t nothing you should see the piles of overflow in Denver. Where’s your safety glasses, don’t want to get a projectile in you eyes. Be safe out there, I’ve been in the trash game for 18 years

This is insane! Our trash company would never pick that crap up! God bless 'em but I sure hope they send a bill to that homeowner! A hefty one at that!
Amazing. In our small town in Canada. If its not in a trash bin it stays where it is. You are expected to take anything that does not fit in garbage can to the dump. Which is 56km round trip. Not exactly the greenest way of thinking. Tho, this is kind of a lot I would think. Is this a special situation that was paid for?
Thanks for the doing the heavy work you guys do. Never did garbage or trash but had fun packing many layers of large sheets of corrugated cardboard, large boxes, plastics, books, printer paper, etc for recycling.
WoW! And to think my trash service wouldn't even take a little 2 drawer dresser that I left out next to the trash can. I asked them one time if they picked up dressers, and he said they would, just call in to the office, and they will charge extra. I've seen other trucks picking up couches, so might be changing services.
Most people have to take all that crap to the dump themselves. I hope they change the people for all the extra crap. know that can't load all the " normal " garbage.
My garbage company won't take anything that's not in their can. If they see a couch or chair, it's just left on the curb. If lid on the container is partially open or overflowing, they won't take it.
This is why the world 🌎 thinks we are spoiled brats. We throw away things that could of been donated, just because we're to lazy to bring the stuff to habitat for humanity or other charities. Just because it's free doesn't make it valuable, even to charities. Physically the shipping to get those where they would be utilized (other countries) costs more than to just donate new in flat containers from IKEA or China.
If it doesn't fit in your trash can my trash company won't pick it up. If you need something large taken away you have to make special arrangements or take it to the dump yourself.
You guys are great! It reminds me of my truck back in the nineties. We picked up everything, including a grader tire! I get one large item pick up with my company, and anything else is special.
I worked behind these trucks in NYC for 21 years. They're powerful. Rule #1 never stand behind it when you cycle the hopper.... very dangerous. Stuff flies out from it all the times.
I'm surprised they picked all bulky stuff up. That's more than the alloted trash run. No my city will do that. If isn't in the bin, it doesn't get in tne truck. We get bulky trash service twice a year. Ours I'd automated. Driver doesn't get out of the truck.
That's wonderful DIY wood better than new wood would make many things from furniture to toys.
Well that was everything except the kitchen sink! Awesome work. The welder guy did a fine job.
