@@user-yq8mf4xk7tuse anything non flammable that doesn’t release toxic fumes into the air when burned. Basic air dry clay works. Clay that can be fired in a kiln works, you can either let it dry (will be fragile), get it bisque fired, or get it ceramic glazed and fired. You can paint the outside of a flat terracotta pot/pot holder. Foam air dry clay, resin, paper clay, paper mache, and anything that burns or let’s off fumes at ~400°C or less aren’t safe. Make sure to make indents for a cig to rest on (I usually see people add 1-5). Technically you can use unsafe materials if you’re not using it as an actual ashtray, but be careful.

So Long Story lol My grandmother when she was young made an ash tray for my great grandmother who passed recently, and I found it while going through my things to take to my home for safe keeping and the things is she had one from each of her 3 children, and my mother, and she never smoked. my grandmother took them home and cry’s looking at them untouched and polished.
I never made things like these lol, my parents loved my creativity and I'd make them a little craft box out of paper, just last year I decided to get back to my childhood and continue from where I stopped and quit, I learned how to make realistic portraits just to give it to my mom as a gift for mother's day
