Would be hilarious if Carlos signs for Merc and they produce a championship challenging car next year and Ferrari do not.
I truly hope so
this can be the case hahah ferrari in the muds
The crystal ball shows this 😮
given Sainz's track record of career moves this is likely - he's like the anti-Alonso
As a Ferrari fan and a Merc hater, I really hope Sainz wins the championship with Merc. I want Sainz to laugh at Ferrari's clown faces off.
ppl throwing crap at carlos for waiting, the doors reopened
I laughed when people made fun of him. Why the fck would he decide now when he can wait until the last minute? Carlos is performing incredible right now. Even he perform bad the nest half of the year williams will be there.
he is one of the top drivers on the grid currently, he will not self sabotage his career by going into a bad team. Mercedes have it out for him and he will end up going to merc 100%
he just prayed and waited for perez to drive that redbull like a harvest tractor
What doors?😂😂😂😂
@@oscarmico3353are you fucking dense or something ?
Antonelli to Williams is a wise choice, while Sainz to Mercedes is a brilliant pick. It will give Merc a solid lineup.
Yeah a Russell Sainz lineup would be a great situation for Merc.
The irony is if Carlos goes to Mercedes next year and Mercedes continues to out perform Ferrari, this change will work to his advantage even though he was disadvantaged when Ferrari announced Hamilton would replace him.
Kimi going straight to Mercedes is a bit of a crazy idea when it was first talked about imo, he would be a rookie fresh in F1 and you'll have him straight in the merc seat. When previously merc put their other drivers in Williams to gain experience.
That's because Williams doesn't want to be a developteam for Mercedes anymore. Mercedes have to develop their young drivers themself from now and on
That's the kind of risks you've got to take in F1 sometimes. Just look at Hamilton, he started out as a rookie at a top team (mclaren), fought for the championship in his first season and managed to get it in his second.
Things changed with Dorilton and Vowles, they don't want to take drivers on loan anymore. I would be very surprised not to see Bottas taking that seat.
When the car seemed like an upper midfield car it didn't seem like too bad of an idea. Now they're looking good again it might be a bit too much pressure for the poor kid
Seems strange. They get drivers that whilst inexperienced are very talented. They had Russell, didn't that go well? The important thing is to get them for a few years rather than just one. @@oscarovegren
Lets call the whole thing off.. Lewis stays at Mercedes, Sainz stays at Ferrari
And postpone the new 2026 rule regs!

probably not even a bad thing for Lewis
I find it nuts that you think Ocon will be a better team mate than Kmag. If anyone is a team player its Kmag. Give him the car and he will do just as well as Ocon or even better. Bearman would be mentally broken by Ocon, because he would instantly see him as his main rival and do the Ocon.
KMag isn't a good qualifier
Exactly. Magnussen is really agressive, but towards the right people, the people competing against Haas. Ocon has repeatedly shown agressiveness towards his own teammate. It's a night and day difference. Ocon like is explained in the video, will have the higher peaks though and that is what Haas probably will need.
They said Ocon is a better driver, not a better teammate (which is obvious when you see how Ocon fared VS Alonso and KMag is doing VS Hulk). And this is F1, not summer camp. This is a highly competitive environment, if Bearman can't deal with it he has nothing to do on the grid. BTW Ocon's reputation off the grid is the complete opposite to the one during the races. Multiple people said they loved working with his as he's very professional and dedicated
Bottas is even better team mate than KMag and much much better team mate than Ocon ✌️
@@adapixei836 Is it not about how expensive repairs will be if Ocon starts crashing into his teammate like normal?
Sainz is the main player. Once he settles things will fall into place
Absolutely
i agree but if checo comes into the market it could really shake things up for Sainz. Yea checo isn’t performing but he is proven to win if the car suits him and the money he brings in isn’t something to look away from
Carlos Sainz' manager is called Carlos Sainz. Beautiful!
Ye I also just found out, Carlos sainz Jr, his manager Carlos Sainz and Carlos Sainz Sr go to a bar ))))))
HIs dad is also Carlos Sainz, which is weird. If Carlos has a son and is also given that name it will basically confirm it's the same guy manifesting in 3 different bodies. Some type of ancient deity
I thought it was Sainz's cousin
@@imgoodkinda It is. His cousin's name is also Carlos Sainz, but is usually named using his middle name of Oñoro (Carlos Oñoro Sainz) to avoid confusion.
@@Dreded100oh I didn't know ty
In all fairness - this was always going to be a spectacular silly season. Even if Hamilton stayed put.
I hope Bottas ends up at Williams. Just a very likeable guy joining a likeable team mate in a likeable team.
Bring Bottas Home
Valtteri it’s James, I like you, my guy.
No. As a Williams fan no. I want Sainz.
Lots of commentors defend Ocon, obviously he has Talent, but his win had a large part to do with Alonso.... who Ocon went on to overly aggressively / bordering dangerously defend from in later races.... when Alonso clearly had the stronger position! He doesn't play the team game... I'd keep K-mag in a heartbeat over him
Ocon is a much faster driver than Kmag and the chances of a conflict with Bearman are low since he is a rookie and won't be on Ocon's pace for a while. With one rookie in the car, Haas need a fast and consistent points scorer in midfield machinery which Ocon has proven himself to be and he'll cost a lot less in crash damages than K Mag who is currently being washed by Hulkenberg and was made to look good by a mediocre Mick Schumacher.
Umm, Ocon qualified really well against Alonso the whole season, but him in Hungary fair and square. Avoided contact at the start and earned his P1 position even if it came about due to a big accident. Alonso of course defended brilliantly and without it, Lewis probably would have passed but you never know Ocon might have done a defensive masterclass of his own. The point is, and I say this as someone who does not even like Ocon, that guy has had to scrap for every little thing he's been given in his career unlike 85% of the rest of the grid - that's why he is so overly aggressive. And people ignore the fact that Alonso and Gasly have ALSO never ever had the reputation of being good teammates...
Ocon was fine with Daniel and Hulk too, the only person he has tangled with where he was clearly the only one in the wrong was his crashes with Perez. Gasly and Alonso have been known to play as dirty as Ocon, imo.
He is washed
All his good performance and talents are from seasons long gone. Commentators don't live in the present, they over value past performance too much
@@areebsiddiqui758In that case why not go for Valtteri Bottas? He's debatably faster than even Ocon, and doesn't drive into his teammate, in fact he works harmoniously with them. Ocon is just rotten, in my opinion the closest thing we have on the grid right now to Maldonado.
@@averagesundaydriver8122 Bottas is likely to go to Williams. And if anyone's the current Maldonado it's Magnussen. Everyone hates Ocon so it's easy for them to dismiss the fact that he's a great driver whenever he's not crashing into teammates. If the choice is between two guys that like to crash (and btw Kmag does it a lot more than Ocon) then you pick the guy that's faster. Ocon was competitive against Alonso, Magnussen is getting wrecked by Nico.
Carlos going to Mercedes and winning both championships would feed generations. Excited for next season!!!

give perez the boot
As much as I like him, I do have to agree. He's becoming more and more of a liability, plus it would free up space for Liam Lawson to finally get a seat in F1 like he deserves.
His recent contract stipulations are basically a guaranteed boot. The chances of him getting within 100 points of Max by Monza are hugely improbable
From Red Bull yeah, tho i'd like to see how he does in another team to see if he's washed or not.
I think he'll be booted, depends how he does in Hungary and Belgium. The question is that I have no idea who they will replace Perez with.
@@imgoodkinda If it were entirely based on performance, then Yuki should get that spot. For whatever reason though, Red Bull have forgotten Yuki exists.
If Max and Carlos had an understanding that each would do their part in supporting each other with the emphasis on the team first then RB might be unstoppable. My gut tells me that Carlos wants to be the number one driver on a competitive team but would also accept being a close second as well.
I don't think that he would accept a close second. He knows how Redbull works.
Ever since the early Vettel days, RBR always had a clear number 1 and a clear number 2.
The objective is for the N1 to win while the N2 acts as a wingman. If the N1 is not in a position to win, then the N2 needs to be there to, at least, get a podium.
Perez has done RBR a MASSIVE favour. Had RBR began this regulation set with two Vertappens, the shear amount of 1-2 finishes would've brought a significant regulation change on the chassis side a lot sooner as to try to close the gap to the other top teams.
Sainz wouldn‘t be a close second, that‘s the issue.
The guy couldn‘ even beat a 17 y/o Verstappen who basically had 0 experience in 2015, what do you think would happen now?
Max would absolutely destroy the guy week after week, just like he does to Perez.
That Sainz camp has always been extremely toxic and together with the Verstappen camp that would only lead to issues even if the talent difference between the 2 drivers couldn‘t be bigger.
How often does Marko have to state that he doesn‘t want the Sainz camp in a RB team ever again for people like you to finally understand it?

2025 is a very important season due to the regulation changes of 2026.

Exactly right. Early 2022 Alfa Romeo is proof of this. They had to grab points at the earliest opportunity before their car fell off for the next 2 years

I read "French chaos" at first and thought it's about Alpine
I think with Ocon now it would be reasonable to put a clause in his contract that if he crashes into his teammate then he gets a financial penalty. And he's gonna be desperate enough to sign a contract with that in it has he has less options
And who would decide if he was the one responsible for the incident? A judge, in a court of law?

I'd like to see Ocon with a weaker team-mate. He's quick enough to get the most out of his car, and has often found himself with a similar level driver in the other car and thus occupying the same space on the track a lot (Perez, Gasly, Alonso, it was only really Ricciardo who he couldn't keep up with during his comeback year). Give him a developing rookie in the other seat and he could very well be a good fit.
He's basically a number 1 driver only, but I'm not sure he's quick enough to justify that level of investment from a lot of the teams.
Facts!! I am excited if he goes to Haas
Why Sainz won't sign with VW's Audi branded entry still blows my mind. With all their brands pretty much dominating any form of motorsport they enter it's hard to believe their F1 entry will be any different. I'm sure they will be pulling plenty of talent from their disparate brands to help the Audi team (Porsche, Bugatti, Lamborghini, VW, even call in a favor from their buddies at Rimac and Rivian), so their engineering team and cash flow will be top notch!
He needs to be in the team in 2025 to help develop the 2026 car to fit his driving style.
They reportedly only offered a one year contract
It's musical chairs at the moment.
I want Daniel to get the red bull seat (Im Australian) but either way Yuki Daniel Liam or someone else red bull need to get rid of checo. He did the exact same thing last year where he has a few good races at the start of the year and then is pretty much useless for the rest of the year. he's gotta go
I think people tend to undermine how much Magnussen brings to a team.
I think if we look back at the 2016 run with Renault you realise that.
Also there is a reason why as soon as there was an excuse to ditch Mazepin Haas called him back.
saying, "Ocon is a better Magnussen" seems to be an odd thing to say, since we have no metrics measuring that.
they both have flaws and they can both bring a lot to a team
Ocon was competitive against Alonso. Kmag is being washed by Hulkenberg. I think it's pretty clear who the better driver is. And Bearman isn't going to be challenging Ocon as a rookie anyway so the chances of an intra team conflict are low, unlike with Gasly or Alonso whom Ocon was very closely matched with and always racing on track.
@@Bricefriha What do you mean? We DO have lot of metrics shown that Ocon is better than Magnussen.

Having just signed a promising rookie like Bearman, why on earth would Haas consider someone with the reputation of team fucking that Ocon has? If i was Haas, I’d sign Bottas to mentor Bearman. Ocon is a good driver, but he needs to be somewhere with an experienced team mate who won’t take his shit.
Imagine the bizarre actually happens, and RBR kick Checo for Daniel, then Doohan gets the Alpine seat, and Lawson the RB seat… suddenly, we’ve got 3 Australian (plus 1 NZ - AKA basically Australian) on the grid at the same time…
And Bottas too... (kinda lol)
I dont know why you would put Daniel in RBR. He hasnt shown anything that justifies promotion.
@@P4P5 The question becomes then if Perez is on the outer who gets the RBR seat if not Ricciardo? Tsunouda is basically on the outer really because of the Honda tie in and that is going away anyway. Lawson, whilst he did an admirable job standing in for Ricciardo after he was injured I can't see them putting in a rookie. That would basically kill the suggestion of the 'Put your signage on our car please' VCARB team being the junior squad like Lord Helmut still likes to call it.
@@P4P5Because of 1- Team dynamics. If RBR won’t sign Sainz because their dads don’t along, they aren’t going to sign man-child Yuki. RBR aren’t looking for a #1 driver, they already have it, which is why they don’t want Sainz. If they just wanted the best available, Sainz would have been signed months ago. Bruh if he goes to mercedes he can potentially be 8 time wdc 💀💀💀
If Lawson does replace Perez, I wouldn't be surprised if Ricciardo gets dropped for Isack Hadjar considering the latter's F2 performance right now and Marko being desperate to get him into F1.
Hadjar isn't as decisive at the moment as one might hope, Sure he is leading the championship right now but last year he finished 14th and behind his team-mate. Surely Iwasa would deserve a look in before Hadjar.
No way will they put Liam who is a rookie into a top seat straight away. Helmet said this during the week.
@@Deanooooo Indeed, Marko is still in somewhat of a power struggle with Horner. Realistically the "Your avertising goes here" VISA/CashApp/Coca Cola/Sprite RB team isn't really the breeding ground for new talent any longer. They have not had success with that since Max arrived otherwise why would they have gone down the Perez path in the first place.
I don't know about Marko being desperate to promote Hadjar, but if he wins the F2 title (which is not done yet), it would be reasonable to see him driving for RB next year, maybe replacing Ricciardo.
@@AndrewinAus If Hadjar is not "decisive" enough when leading the championship and winning 3 feature races (almost 4 with Monaco), what about Bearman and Antonelli?
The only possible way Kimi Antonelli gets the Merc seat if he's leading in F2 by a mile and is at least top 5. He ain't anywhere near that right now and given his pedigree before F2, yeah high expectations.
The guy on the left doesn't blink when talking!
But why are you lot presuming Williams will want Kimi?
Or indeed that he would want Williams, an absolute bin fire of an F1 team. I would hope he’d have more sense, although I suppose he could be taken in by James ‘talks a good fight’ Vowles, the interview and press conference world champion.
James said over and over again they’re not interested in being a feeder team to Merc and don’t care for Andrea.
But then again, „experts“ think Perez and Ocon are great drivers and teams would line up to sign Bottas who hasn’t done anything in the past years…
A YOKE!
@@wowareolysyeah but he’s full of it
Williams get what they’re given 😂
The fact is that Sargeant performed much better than Antonelli in his first F2 season (4th with 3 feature races wins). I am not sure Williams would want a worse driver than Sargeant.
How Ocon is still on the grid is beyond me. Costing teams money and points because you’re always in a one way pissing contest with your own teammate deserves a boot.
Let me prove all your points wrong
1. Race winner
2. Multiple time podium sitter in cars that shouldn't be there
3. Been at fault for 2 teammate crashes since 2017
4. Cost his team the least amount of money of any driver on the grid in 2021, and would've been down there again in 23 if it wasn't for Gaslys murder at Australia
@@rhensnfunny how you need to go back à few years, or ignore thst year or consider this exception to then prove that Ocon is a good choice.
Having to do so much cherry picking to try and defend him jsut shows he is not as good as you try and make him out to be.
He is an average driver with a proven track record of being a terrible team mate and crashing into his team mates.

Insightful analysis! It's a tricky drivers' market and I don't think I've ever seen it harder to unpick. Odder still is how the predicted outcomes are all looking very meritocratic indeed, in spite of so many different commercial factors. All the obvious duffers go and the grid gets an upgrade, which is amazing considering quite how much talent there was/is in that last huge youth intake - the cohort of good friends. This could be as good as an F1 grid has ever been.
I just don't want see Ocon's wry smile again lol 😅
I hope we see it on the podium
Kimi needs more seasoning than just 1 F2 season. He's just a kid it's not like he's gonna be 27 if you park him in F2 for a few seasons
He could stay as a ferrari reserve for 2 years. Then when hamilton leaves rejoin them
Hamilton has a 3 year contract
Why would he even want that?
@@clubdevoiture1618 yeah we all watched Coulthard suggest the same. How about an original thought next time?
Lol, is Ben's prop mic even plugged in? You can see the open socket in the video.
If I was Sainz I would take next year off if I didn’t sign with a big team. It would make him appear even more appealing. He’ll be able to come off the bench in early 2025 when thing implode somewhere.
Antonelli stays in F2, Bottas back to Williams, Doohan to Alpine, Lawson to Red Bull, Ocon to Haas, Perez to Audi, Ricciardo stays at RB and Sainz to Mercedes.
I would love to see Sainz at Red Bull, but I don't think it will happen, Sainz easily top 5 driver this year.
get ricciardo, ocon, stroll and sargent out of F1!
If AUDI want to show they are serious and want to be winners in F1. Signing Perez would show the exact opposite. Winners dont signe losers.
@@SilverScarletSpider Agree 100%. Not sure what everyone's fascination with DR is. I like the guy, he's a walking PR dream, but he's just not that good of a driver. With Mercedes starting to get a proper grip on the car, they have to sign Sainz. Throwing in a complete rookie is a huge gamble. It was an idea when the car was struggling to be at the top of the mid-field but with a car now being able to win, you want an experienced driver, and Sainz is perfectly cast. The idea at getting back at your old team with the team whose driver you replaced them with is an extra motivational bonus for Mercedes.
Did Hulk sign too soon? It would have been amazing to see him in the second Red Bull or Mercedes.
Checo needs to go, his performance is just unacceptable. He will be a good mid field driver like he always was, but definitely not RB.
He for the most part, only did well at RB when RB had a car miles better than the rest of the field. Hell Logan could have podium'd with it.

Carlos was always doing the smart thing waiting. People like Buxton were kidding themselves acting like doors could close if he waited around. Who is going to race to sign a Bottas? A top seat is going to open by 2027 at latest. So, a short term is no issue.
Antonelli is at best a mid F2 driver, not up to standard for an F1 promotion. Sainz to Merc. Dump Perez, get Ricciardo on trial at Redbull and Liam Lawson at RB, plus Jack Doohan to Alpine.
How the hell can you justify putting riccardo in at Red Bull? Hes been awful and tsunoda has out performed him over and over and over and over and over again
@@renlysotherlover294Red Bull don’t rate Tsunoda for the top seat. It’s been said over and over, what don’t you understand? Riccardo is the next option as they won’t put Liam who is a rookie straight into a top seat.
Disagree that Ocon is a faster KMAG. He might be fast, but his racecraft is not superior to KMAGs, and he is often too aggressive, especially with his teammates. I really don't get why so many like him.
He is faster than KMAG. Kmag has only beaten Jolyon Palmer, Mick and Grosjean in his career - all of whom were barely f1 drivers for more than 2-3 years. Everyone whose beaten him has done so by a big margin, like Hulk and Button. He has also been dropped from f1 twice.
Ocon has always been within 10 points of his teammate whether that is ahead of them or behind. While he has been dropped from F1 once, it was more to do with Renault being broke than lacking performance compared to a teammate. He has matched Gasly, Alonso and Perez, even beating Alonso in 22'. Gasly he lost to by one point last year because he had shit luck with DNFs over the season. Perez he has never been more than 13 points behind even his rookie and 2nd year in F1. The only person he's ever been smashed by is Ricciardo in 2020, his first year back in f1 after being dropped for 2019.
It is completely factual to say Ocon is faster than Kevin Magnussen - even if you discredit his earned Hungary win, he's put a shitbox Alpine into P3 at Monaco (a very difficult racing track) and led the Qatar GP in 2021 while Max and Lewis were battling for the title. He has 1 win compared to Kevin's zero, and 3 podiums compared to Kevin's 1.
I'm not even a fan of Ocon but he, unlike 85% of the rest of the grid, has had to scrap for every single point he's earned in his entire racing career because he didn't have the best cars and teams sponsoring him like all the other guys (Gasly, Charles, Lando, etc). He really has earned whatever he's achieved whether you rate that highly or not. Not to mention, Alonso and Gasly have the reputation of not being good teammates either! Perez is the only one who Ocon has crashed into and it's 100% his fault.
Ocon is a good fast driver. Let's not forget Gasly taking them both out in Australia last year and other incidents where Ocon wasn't at fault. Funny, Bruno Dickhead only seemed to chastise Ocon.
@@tanyaghosh2277Grosjean has 10 F1 podiums and was in for 9+ years
@@chamindujanith6337 True I personally don't think he was as bad as some people made him out to be but he definitely binned results even more than Magnussen does. He is also less of a good teammate as Kev - see how often he's helped out Nico this year. Plus, Romain would get beaten by almost all his teammates, so it was a nail in the coffin because he could not perform to the level of the car.
Im a die hard Ferrari fan but I am more a Sainz fan. Hope he gets a great outcome and shows Ferrari what they let go.
There’s one name you’re forgetting and should be in the mix. 2 time champion and current championship points leader in Indy car Alex Pulou.

Hasn't Antonelli won many junior categories? Hamilton chose to leave Mercedes, he had a contract with them for next year...
@@seanonraet8327 technically, Antonelli has only won FRECA. But he has already proven that the Mercedes decision to skip f3 was the right one. They were expecting Prema to be the championship winning car and therefore, Ollie and Kimi could fight for the Championship but the car is mid.
