Vancouver Embarkation for Alaska Cruise - How we did and tips for what may improve your journey.

- We recently sailed out of Vancouver, British Columbia Canada on the Crown Princess to Alaska and this video details our embarkation from Vancouver Canada Place Cruise Terminal, and we have some suggestions at the end on what may help your embarkation.
Our embarkation from Vancouver took longer than any other embarkation for us going back through 2019 - thats a total of 9 cruises. With the Medallion and Green Lane we normally walk right on the ship.

I always say my Cruise starts AFTER Muster Drill …. THEN I’m home free ! Attitude is EVERYTHING during Embarkation ! Great tips … and love the length of your vids. Fantastic info in short period of time. I’m a solo cruiser, so I believe I need about 4 more cruises w Princes to make Elite! (Looking forward to the “special lounges “ …. 😎👍)
I agree about muster drills and thank you very much for your complement! With the new muster drills, we watched the video as soon as we were onboard and checked in with our station - all within about 30 min after boarding. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for this. Cruising on Princess out of Vancouver next month. Last time I was in Vancouver Ubers were illegal, good to know that’s changed. Also I understand Princess no longer assigns check in times, you can just show up at the terminal anytime.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, Uber works in Vancouver. I did have some problems with Lyft (i.e. the car was 45 min away) and the bellman at your Hotel said that Uber is much more established there.
You are correct on not assigning times which makes being Green Lane very important.

Better to take a cab to ship terminal. Cab drivers know where to drop you off, Uber drivers don’t!

Although we don't use Uber, we saw that as of this year Uber has to drop you off on the street a little west of Canada Place. Taxis (which no-one has mentioned) take you to the first underground level P1 as do buses. Another change I noticed this year is the US border control was quick. We simply looked at a camera on a stand and our photos were taken and we were told to go. That was for US and Canadian passport holders. I'm not sure if other nationalities had the same easy procedure..
We noticed that Vancouver is a different experience to boarding!

Is there not escalators and stairs in that building... you say only 2 elevators!?!
Correct - there are only 2 elevators where you are dropped off. There are escalators on other floors that we did use, but not on the bottom floor. Thanks for watching and happy cruising!
