Wtf bro, you have an acrilic tank. Drill 2 holes in that thing and put a proper internal overflow. It's a no brainier

Replace u tube with 2 inch pvc and elbows.
Just use PVC with elbows. Can get it in clear but it's probably twice as expensive
I'm lazy I woulda just notched the top out
Drill that tank and get one internal overflow connection. Thats it.
Just drill the tank. Problem solved. It's not like it's glass.
Why not cut a small section of the opening where it rubs instead of drilling a new hole on the side?

The slot in your top needs to be slightly wider for the siphon tubes you're using!
