I really DID do an early interview with Oprah Winfrey, but it had a slightly different vibe than what's depicted in my biopic WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.
I swear I saw this exact same comment an hour or so ago on a short with Oprah interviewing Michael Jackson, who started beatboxing and singing when she was trying to talk.
@@Medabee8 This comment is a joking reference to the other Weird Al "interviews" where a famous person's real interview is spliced to make it look like he's interviewing them. They're hilarious, and I believe on his channel, you should check em out! But yeah, this one is real haha

I don't think even now that Weird Al knows how deeply he is loved and cherished by us. He's always so humble... there's just no way he could understand what he did for all us weirdos. ❤ Al, you are truly a treasure. You made it cool to be weird and allowed us to embrace it. Thank you.
Watching young Oprah is wild. Her mannerism and energy seem different, cause you're such a different person at that age compared to when I saw Oprah as a kid (around 2003 and after). This is before she started her show too. The past is wild.
"...cos I'm a total, total non-dancer." Boy, this WAS a long time ago, wasn't it? I remember seeing his concert, and wondering how anyone has the coordination AND stamina to sing, dance and flip around like a gymnast, for several hours, rhen truck cross country to do it again a day or two later. For months! I was mightily impressed. What a performer.
I could have EASILY been one of those kids in the audience when this aired. I was about that old at that time. But you know something, it never dawned on me how 'Kid-Safe' Weird Al was ( And still is today ). When I was a kid, Weird Al was a 'Living Cartoon' character to me. Thank you, Al for being on the Good-side of my childhood and for being super-positive. Thank you so much!
I'm drunk and high and depressed but Weird Al made me feel normal in a world of viciousness of youth, but bad hair day was there for me when nobody was, I truly cherish that music and nothing will replace the memories I've had with Yankovic' music and thank you sir. I couldn't afford your last tour and I couldn't make it but I wanted to see you so bad before covid but shit happens. Thanks for uploading
This takes me back! I had Duran Duran fever and played Van Halen's album a whole lot. But Weird Al was always my favorite. Seen him three times at smaller venues, including on this tour. If you can catch him live, it's so much fun!
Is he more entertaining than Alice Cooper? Because that was the $#!+... Yes I think Al is too. Talked to him on the phone once when he was at a local radio station, WHCN Hartford, I think in 1993. One of the morning guys ( a despicable man, I know because I interned there from time to time) asked me what I would do if I was alone in a room with Al. I said something shocking (something I really wouldn't have done as Al is married, I was engaged, and I'm not a slut). The studio exploded, I got hung up on, no one could talk or breathe because of shock/laughter. I was told to call back, and I did. Had a nice conversation with Al. The station ran it's daily promo using the clip, several times, until they were told to stop by management...
A lot of Aussies love Weird Al, especially those of us who were teenagers in the mid 1980's and followed his musical parody trend ("Eat It" and numerous other songs after it). He can be funny and clever without being rude - I for one like him as an artist and can appreciate the effort he puts into the work he does. THAT is partly why I subbed to his channel here. 😎 👍

This really warms my heart. I really enjoyed seeing this interview. I was 8 when this aired, so, if I saw it, I wouldn't have paid attention to it, let alone care about it. I'm a big Weird Al fan, and I think Oprah is one of the best interviewers that ever existed. I'm not much of a drama fan, but she knows how to ask questions without being biased. And still leaving it up to the audience to decide for themselves. For the majority, anyway. This was fun.
This interview started off so awkward. You can tell she wasn't the expert she is now. She didn't seem to know what to say to him. I probably would be stumbling over my words if I got to meet him myself. I'd probably say hi followed by a bunch of gibberish, trip on my own foot, fall and fart at the same time and run away yelling I love youuuu!

no she made it big because she hated the right people and the DEEP STATE used her for population control and propaganda distribution
