@2:50 everybody's got their favorite part but MAN... WHEN JOHN AMOS BIG FIST HITS THAT SECURITY GUARD I LMAO EVERY DAMN TIME....They Jacked that dude up😂😂🤣😂😭😂
Classic...i saw this 🎥 as a little child back in the mid 1970s...and saw it again and again and again as I got older...still one of my favorite all time movies now as a early 50s man
Ezekiel Major you call that a bum rush? I'm still praying for him to this day, just like I'm praying for that old lady who was in the elevator with Lootin Lenny during Penny's first Christmas (Good Times).
Me too...that look his face when he makes that jump...and when he make to the other side of the roof and his arms and legs flopping around before Poitier catches him LOL...cracks me the hell up too
Sidney Potier and Bill Cosby in a movie together? Back then people thought that it would never be because the two actors did completely opposite roles. But, it did and as you can see, they made a few classic great movies.
In the dvd director's cut. The director said John Amos was so fast they he had to spread the distance from him and Sidney & Bill [intitial sequence crossing the street] further cause he closed the distance so fast it was screwing up the take....lol
@ 1:50 I still crack up at that part!! 😂😂😂 It's amazing how one can run so fast in thick, heavy platform shoes!! I wonder how many takes they did before they could execute. It was like running track!! 😂😂 I love this classic!!
The funniest part here fo me is when Sydney and Bill are on the rooftop of the building and make the way-too-long jump to the next building, in slow motion! 🤣🤣🤣
Man they whooped the hell outta that security guard. Brotha had no chance what so ever. Lmfao that job don't pay enough to take an asswhooping like that.
I'm still praying for him to this day, just like I'm praying for that old lady who was in the elevator with Lootin Lenny during Penny's first Christmas (Good Times).
I wouldn't have been surprised if Cosby actually made that leap because Cosby was a high jumper on the track team in college. I knew John Amos was a fast runner by watching Roots.
When I watched Roots back in the day....it must have been the first time I seriously questioned if the horses had the giddy up to catch up with Amos (as Kunta Kinte).
TCM played this a while back and I have it on my DVR. Right now, I am going over stuff because it is over 70% full. I decided I am going to keep on there for a while.
+Reggie Milla (Far Roc's Finest) You can also see stunt doubles in certain parts for some of the older guys like Bubble top and the older guy with the glasses.
The brother trying to grab some food from the plate is funny as hell
@2:50 everybody's got their favorite part but MAN... WHEN JOHN AMOS BIG FIST HITS THAT SECURITY GUARD I LMAO EVERY DAMN TIME....They Jacked that dude up😂😂🤣😂😭😂
the chase scene was the best part of the movie.
Classic...i saw this 🎥 as a little child back in the mid 1970s...and saw it again and again and again as I got older...still one of my favorite all time movies now as a early 50s man
One of the great scenes of all time. A classic childhood memory.
I always crack up when they get that security guard! And who was the first to jump him? JOHN AMOS! Dude is the original FAST & FURIOUS!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
God Damn this music is so epic. It made this chase scene one of the greatest chase scenes in black cinema.
Curtis Mayfield!

RIGHT ON✊
The funniest part is when they bum rush the security guard and whisk onto the elevator. He was overwhelmed quickly. lol
Ezekiel Major they beat the breaks off that Security Guard. John Amos was cold on his ass.
I like when they rushed past the family having dinner and one if them was about to take a piece of chicken and the mother slaps his hand, lol.
hahahahahahahahha they whooped his ass
Come here you lol
Ezekiel Major you call that a bum rush? I'm still praying for him to this day, just like I'm praying for that old lady who was in the elevator with Lootin Lenny during Penny's first Christmas (Good Times).
Did you noticed that none of them lost their hats lol..John Amos, world class speed.1964 Denver Broncos,a few Canadian teams and the Kansas City Chiefs
stormshado2012 I didn't know he played pro football😳
Stephanie Randlet He played either LB or HB for the Broncos
John Amos played pro football? You learn something new every day.
This has always been my FAVORITE part of this movie! John Amos RUNNING?? PRICELESS!! LMAO!!!
And keep in mind....he was in his LATE 30s. Amazing.
And to add.....he played college football and briefly played pro football in his younger years. So I can see the athleticism back then.....
John Amos was smoking those other gangsters. And they did this chase wearing tight ass pimp suits and platform shoes? Now THAT was impressive.
John Amos was in training camp for the Denver Broncos and the Kansas city chiefs in the 60's which explains his speed and athleticism in this scene.
Naw that white guy was keeping up can't front...
IRON5 yeah the white gangster was right behind him.
The funniest part in the chase scene is when one of the gangsters picked up a piece of chicken and the woman smacked his hand. Lol
Mines too I died laughing at that part!!!!!
That was funny 😁
That old lady smacked his hand and brought some respect up in that piece, plus she didn't know where his hands been!😂😂
Best chase scene ever.
John Amos running like somebody done stole his money. Cause they did.
One of the greatest movies of all time😄
When Bill Cosby jumped from the roof top in slow motion, cracks me up everytime...lol.
Me too...that look his face when he makes that jump...and when he make to the other side of the roof and his arms and legs flopping around before Poitier catches him LOL...cracks me the hell up too
@@thblkhnd I wonder who his stuntman was???
I see that's where Omar Epps and Tupac got it from in Juice!! 😂😂😂
...Even the music in this scene was bump’n!!!!
Yes Lord!
I bought the soundtrack because of this music. Curtis Mayfield and The Staple Singers killed it. The song is called Chase.
Funniest footchase in cinema history...
YOu guys know John Amos played in the NFL right? Denver Broncos 1964.
0:27
Amos' speed made this part of the soundtrack epic.
That music is everything!!!!
Curtis Mayfield

jesusneverexisted300 Uptown Saturday Night and Piece Of The Action we’re also classics!
In the dvd director's cut. The director said John Amos was so fast they he had to spread the distance from him and Sidney & Bill [intitial sequence crossing the street] further cause he closed the distance so fast it was screwing up the take....lol
Tfact that John Amos was 35.or 36 makes it all the more impressive.
Believe Amos was a football player in his days also.
Anyone else notice at 0.28, how fast john Amos was runing and changing directions...MY GOODNESS
The Way John Amos came out the door running at 3:28 🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣🤣
Poor security guard. Just having luch.
It took LESS than 6 seconds for them to "handle" the guard AND get him on the elevator.
I bet all that guy SAW were fists!!!
@ 1:50 I still crack up at that part!! 😂😂😂
It's amazing how one can run so fast in thick, heavy platform shoes!! I wonder how many takes they did before they could execute. It was like running track!! 😂😂 I love this classic!!
That bass line is sick.
Can't forget the guitars. :-)
The guitars were killing it for me. Lead and rhythm. The lead guitar was talking.
I Love watching John Amos run in this clip, that sh!t was funny, not to mention he was on some Jesse Owens! LMAO!
It a very impressive feat considering John was entering his late 30s....that time when our physical gifts and abilities decline.
1:50 gets me every damn time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
BubbleTop tried to steal a pc of chicken!
Well done to stuntman Bob Minor for his legendary 19 foot wide leap doubling for Sidney Pottier.
2:54
Security Guard: "THEY AIN'T PAYING ME ENOUGH FOR THIS S%!!!!!"
The greatest chase ever, John Amos could from New Orleans to New York in 30 Minutes
The funniest part here fo me is when Sydney and Bill are on the rooftop of the building and make the way-too-long jump to the next building, in slow motion! 🤣🤣🤣
John Amos was rolling even the suit he had on was finding trouble to keep up with him.
Hilarious 😂 😃 😄.
John Amos’ speed! 🤣 🔥
John Amos had some serious skates in this scene!
I wouldn't have been surprised if Cosby actually made that leap because Cosby was a high jumper on the track team in college. I knew John Amos was a fast runner by watching Roots.
Cosby was running so much he bust his pants. 😄
lol....damn, john amos is so fast he nearly clipped that street post.
Sidney Pontier was pretty fast for close to 50 years of age at the time.
John was blowin it yo 😂
My favorite part of this flick!
@ 4:17 - I can't figure out they sped up the film speed or if John Amos is really running then down at warp speed... Damn, he's fast!! :0o
McD5791 John really was that fast! Hard to believe but he was being an pro athelete.
When I watched Roots back in the day....it must have been the first time I seriously questioned if the horses had the giddy up to catch up with Amos (as Kunta Kinte).
He played for the chiefs
Brings back so many memories
the way Kansas City Mack was running, [a.k.a. John Amos] he really wanted them brothers bad! HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!
1:47 I want some chicken 🍗
That was funny
bill bust his pants jumping that roof
Growing up I loved this movie...
TCM played this a while back and I have it on my DVR. Right now, I am going over stuff because it is over 70% full. I decided I am going to keep on there for a while.

At 2:15 Bill and Sidney climbing up the building and disturbing the couple getting they fun on and when they drove off that's funny..

Watching those others dudes try to keep up with ex-NFL player John Amos was funny too.
What movie is this?!
Sidney Poitier seem taller than 6ft.2
