      That would nice to see. I have a 2000 7.3 with a 6 speed manual transmission, so when I'm too old and tired of shifting the truck it would be nice to get a reliable 6 speed automatic.

    How does the transmission computer (TCU) know throttle position with a mechanical cable throttle like this 12v Cummins has? The TCU needs important info like vehicle speed and throttle position in order to determine when to make a shift, especially with the adaptive learning that the Allison does. Doesn't the TCU log that info into the adaptive learn tables as you drive? I'd really like to know more. Anyhow, love your pioneering ingenuity and professional quality that are making so many dream truck builds a reality. It's about time someone put a worthy automatic behind the beloved 7.3 Powerstroke and, of course, the legendary 12v Cummins. The extra two gears will make these engines more fun and usable. No longer do you have to sacrifice two gears and reliability as an alternative to pumping a clutch/rowing gears in traffic. You can have your cake and eat it too! Keep doing what you're doing. Incredible work!

      @caconversions4591  Před rokem +2

      We have a tps sensor and cable assembly that we add to it so that is has something to reference. Yes, the 7.3 really loves the extra 2 gears, they by far pick up the highest fuel mileage gain of any of them. Thank you very much, if you have any other questions fill free to ask.

    • @dfb052686
      @dfb052686 Před rokem +1

      If like to add that the tps they installed is remote mounted on my truck, and is a more robust and reliable piece of kit. They do not use the oem failure prone TPS that came with the 47rh(mounted on the p7100).
      The adaptive learning is great, the truck seems adapt to different loads. With the camper and 28ft trailer loaded on the back it will shift abruptly once, and then it just says “ok, so youre using a lot more throttle than usual” and shifts are consistent with the load on the truck and smooth again. Same goes for going back to “unloaded” or calmer driving, one abrupt shift and it just changes whatever it does and back to normal.
      Just came back from a 3000 mile, 2 week road trip, 10500lbs vehicle weight, larger tires, lifted as seen. 17mpg average over the entire trip. This is favorably comparable to driving a stick, without any of the effort. This transmission and everything CAC touched has been utterly trouble free.

    • @caconversions4591

      We agree, it is an expensive option. If you plan to keep your truck long term and don't want to buy and 80k + new truck that will live in the shop its a great option. So many of our customers are fed up with things and are just rebuilding their truck or building one from ground up with all the stuff they want and are done.

    • @dfb052686
      @dfb052686 Před rokem +2

      It’s hard to quantify, because the truck weight increased with a camper after install. But at 10,500lbs not towing, the truck gets an honest 17mpg at any speed on the highway. Considering the large tires, the lift, and the engine being turned up. It’s great mileage.
      The allison locks in 2nd gear and stays locked up through 6th and back down to under 20mph… making it directly comparable to a manual trans truck. Just finished another 3000 mile road trip. And it calculated out to over 17mpg average
